Sincere McCormick Leads 49ers Rushers Against Titans

San Francisco 49ers running back Sincere McCormick led the team in carries and rushing yards in Thursday's preseason loss to the Tennessee Titans. McCormick finished the game with 10 carries for 38 yards in a difficult day on the ground for San Francisco. He also fielded one kickoff for a 27-yard return and had one target but could not bring in the catch on what was a broken screen play. Past Christian McCaffrey (soreness), the 49ers' running back depth chart is a big question mark. McCormick does not have any fantasy value at present, but as long as he is competing for San Francisco's RB2 role, managers should keep tabs on him through the preseason. Given McCaffrey's injury history, whoever wins the depth chart battle will have value as a handcuff once the regular season opens. McCormick's next chance to work his way up the roster will come on August 20 against the Chargers.

Kurtis Rourke Tabbed For Start In Preseason Opener

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Kurtis Rourke (ribs) was called on to start the team's first game of the preseason. He completed 12 of 14 pass attempts for 101 yards and gained 14 rushing yards on three carries. Rourke nearly had a rushing touchdown in the second quarter but was ruled just short of the goal line. Rourke left the game following the 49ers' touchdown drive in the second quarter after he reported difficulty breathing. Head coach Kyle Shanahan later said that Rourke was taken to the hospital as a precaution. A seventh-round pick in 2025, Rourke has not seen action in the regular season and is not expected to challenge Mac Jones as Brock Purdy's direct backup. If Rourke can recover in time, his next chance to play will be on August 20 against the Chargers.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Catches TD Pass In First Preseason Action

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was part of the team's starting 11 in Thursday's preseason meeting with the Las Vegas Raiders. Harrison only stuck around for Arizona's opening drive, but came away with a seven-yard touchdown on his only target of the game. Harrison made the grab in the back corner of the end zone just past the outstretched arms of his defender on a perfectly placed pass from quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Following an injury-riddled 2025 coupled with Michael Wilson's breakout, Harrison's claim to the Cardinals' WR1 is in question. His decline in production last year has at least relaxed the hype that propelled him into the early round of fantasy drafts in each of the last two seasons. With an improved coaching staff backing him, Harrison's production should pick back up and is more appropriately priced in 2026. Our next opportunity to see him in action will come on August 22 when Arizona faces the Dallas Cowboys.

Simi Fehoko Catches His Second TD Of Preseason In Win

Arizona Cardinals Simi Fehoko caught his second touchdown in as many weeks in Thursday's preseason win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Fehoko caught all three of his targets for 23 receiving yards and the score in the Cardinals' 27-14 victory. The touchdown reception was similar to his score in last week's Hall of Fame Game. In both cases, Fehoko used his 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame to create separation and keep his defender from making a play on the ball. Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson, and Kendrick Bourne are at the top of Arizona's wide receiver room, so Fehoko's preseason performance is as much about keeping his job as it is jockeying for positioning on the depth chart. Even if he sticks with the team, he is more likely to have an impact on special teams than in fantasy football. In his five-year career, the receiver has as many tackles as receptions in the regular season (10).

Jalen Brooks Leads Arizona Receivers In Preseason Win

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Jalen Brooks led the team in targets, receptions, and yards in Thursday's preseason meeting with the Las Vegas Raiders. Brooks caught all six of his targets for 52 yards and one touchdown in the Cardinals' 27-14 victory. Brooks was Arizona's leading receiver in last week's Hall of Fame Game, as well. In that game, Brooks needed just three catches to record his team-high 99 receiving yards. Given how crowded the Cardinals' receiving room is, he will have to do all that he can to maintain a spot on the roster. A seventh-round pick in the 2023 draft, Brooks has only seen action in 27 regular-season games. With Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson, and Kendrick Bourne at the top of the depth chart, the chances of Brooks making an impact in fantasy are slim, but he is a name to watch as the preseason continues. Arizona's next matchup will be against the Dallas Cowboys on August 22.

Arizona Cardinals running back Corey Kiner led the team with 59 rushing yards on 10 carries in the team's 27-14 preseason win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night. With the Cardinals featuring Jeremiyah Love (ankle) heavily in the first half and using Tyler Allgeier to relieve him, Kiner was not seen in the first half. Similar to last week's Hall of Fame Game, Kiner took over the backfield in the second half and made the most of his opportunity. Given how crowded Arizona's running back room is, Kiner has an uphill battle to secure a place on the roster. Love and Allgeier aside, Kiner is fighting to stay ahead of James Conner (ankle), Trey Benson (knee), Bam Knight, and Evan Hull. His next opportunity to show the Cardinals what he can do will come against the Cowboys on August 22.

Tyler Allgeier Has Quiet Night In First Action With Arizona

Arizona Cardinals running back Tyler Allgeier saw minimal usage behind starter Jeremiyah Love (ankle) in Thursday's 27-14 preseason win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Allgeier operated in a relief role, spelling the rookie, who had 14 touches in the first half. Allgeier himself logged four rushing attempts for 19 yards. After rushing for 1,035 yards as a rookie in 2022, Allgeier looked like an up-and-coming stud running back until the Falcons drafted Bijan Robinson the next season and made him their featured back. Allgeier left Atlanta as a free agent and signed a two-year deal with Arizona on March 9, only for the Cardinals to select Love with the third overall pick in the NFL Draft two months later. Love is expected to be Arizona's starting running back, but Allgeier could still figure prominently in a timeshare. Allgeier's next chance to make his case for more touches will come on August 22 when the Cardinals face the Dallas Cowboys.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett started the team's second preseason game of the year. Brissett was inactive in last week's Hall of Fame Game against the Panthers, but opened for the Cardinals in their 27-14 win over the Raiders on Thursday night. The 10-year veteran was only on the field for the first drive of the game, but he was very effective. Brissett went 5-for-5 for 44 passing yards on an 11-play drive that culminated in a touchdown throw to Marvin Harrison Jr. After signing a one-year, $15.5 million guaranteed contract in July, Brissett is the presumed starter for the Cardinals going into the 2026 season. Last year, Brissett threw for 3,366 yards and 23 touchdowns to eight interceptions in 14 games (12 starts) for Arizona. His next tune-up will come on August 22 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Jayden Reed Totals 19 Yards in Preseason Opener

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was on the field with the starters in the Packers' 28-9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first preseason game for Green Bay. Reed, who signed a three-year extension to stay with the Packers through the 2029 season, earned two targets, catching one of them for 19 yards. Notably, per PFF's Nathan Jahnke, Reed did not play outside of 11 personnel, when three wide receivers were in the formation. The Packers played two snaps of 12 personnel with the starters in and Matthew Golden was in the game while Reed was not. That is a clear signal that things will likely remain the same for Reed as it's been in previous seasons with him being a slot-only player. Reed should be a focal point in the Packers' offense, but he's behind Tucker Kraft and potentially Golden and Christian Watson in the pecking order. The Packers' next preseason game comes on August 21st against the Denver Broncos. For fantasy football purposes, Reed is a volatile WR3 with upside for 2026.

Johnson, a third-round pick in last year's NFL Draft, doesn't appear to have won over Pittsburgh's new coaching staff just yet, as he didn't enter the contest until late in the third quarter. Although he was listed as the team's RB3 on the updated depth chart released earlier this week, Johnson played behind veterans Travis Homer and Lew Nichols and was out-touched by rookie running back Eli Heidenreich in the second half. Johnson could see an uptick in opportunities as the preseason continues, but it's becoming increasingly unlikely that he will have a meaningful role in the offense this season behind Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle. While he remains worth stashing in deeper dynasty formats, Johnson is off the fantasy radar for redraft purposes.

He turned it up late last season, recording 28 receptions for 378 yards and four touchdowns over his final six games. The third-year receiver is looking to emerge even further in 2026, with a fully healthy training camp and preseason. Currently ranked WR52, Coker offers upside as a young, talented receiver with a strong connection to quarterback Bryce Young.

His heavy workload could lead to him earning a spot on the team, and since Houston likes to rotate running backs, he could end up with fantasy value at some point this season. Woody Marks and Jawhar Jordan are back to carry the load alongside newcomer David Montgomery, though, so Whittington will need to show more explosiveness before he threatens for enough work to be fantasy relevant. It is worth noting, though, that he got plenty of chances to make an impact in Preseason Week 1 against the Chargers.

Houston Texans wide receiver Jared Wayne stepped into an expanded role for his team with the key starters at skill positions not playing on Thursday night in their preseason contest against the Chargers. Wayne led the team in targets with five and tied for the lead in catches with three. He snagged a touchdown pass from Davis Mills and finished with 17 receiving yards. Wayne has been on the fringes of Houston's roster since he first joined them as an undrafted free agent in 2023. He made his debut with two catches for 20 yards when injuries tested the team's receiver depth against the 49ers last year, and he will likely be a depth option on the roster again this year. If injuries deplete the receiver room, he could be a deep-league sleeper to watch. His touchdown came on a contested catch in the front corner of the end zone and gave the Texans the lead at that point of the first quarter.

The third-overall pick had a strong showing on Thursday night, totaling 72 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 14 attempts. Love was the first back on the field tonight, with veteran Tyler Allegeier spelling him. While it's possible the team was trying to get their inexperienced back more work during the preseason, seeing him dominate the time share is a great sign for fantasy managers. As long as Love is healthy, he should be a strong RB2 in 2026.

Drew Allar Shines in Preseason Debut

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Drew Allar turned in an excellent showing Thursday night, completing 10 of 13 pass attempts for 153 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing score in a 28-9 preseason win over the Green Bay Packers. Although Allar did not enter until late in the third quarter, he made an immediate impact by leading a five-play, 80-yard touchdown drive. He connected with fellow rookie Kaden Wetjen on a slant that nearly went the distance, but Wetjen was eventually brought down at the three-yard line after a 74-yard gain. Allar finished the drive with a three-yard rushing touchdown. The 22-year-old later found Wetjen for a five-yard touchdown and rookie fullback Riley Nowakowski for a four-yard score that sealed the victory late in the fourth quarter. While it seems unlikely that Allar will surpass both Mason Rudolph and Will Howard on the depth chart before the regular season, a few more performances like this could keep him in the conversation for the QB2 job behind Aaron Rodgers. His next opportunity comes next Friday against the New York Jets.
