Jalen Coker an Intriguing WR2 for Wild-Card Weekend

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker got a late start to the 2025 season while recovering from an injury, but he quickly established himself as the WR2 behind rookie first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan, finishing the regular season with 33 catches on 43 targets for 394 yards and a career-high three touchdowns in 11 games played in his second NFL season. Coker hasn't been flashy by any means and was not a top-50 wideout in terms of half-PPR points per game, but he is rolling into the postseason having scored three times in the last five games. He'll be an interesting low-end WR2 option for fantasy managers against the visiting Los Angeles Rams on Wild-Card weekend this Saturday. Coker caught four of six targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in the upset win over L.A. on Nov. 30, and the Rams defense allowed the 11th-most half-PPR points per game to opposing receivers during the regular season.

Jalen Coker Could Rebound in Big Divisional Rematch

The Carolina Panthers' offense was virtually non-existent in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, with quarterback Bryce Young throwing for only 54 yards on the day. Wide receiver Jalen Coker caught both of his targets for only 16 yards, but that was good enough to lead the team. The dud performance broke a string of six straight games in which Coker had at least three receptions. In Weeks 13, 15, and 16, the 24-year-old pass-catcher had a combined 11 receptions on 15 targets for 181 yards and two touchdown grabs as he appeared to be trending towards becoming the No. 2 WR behind rookie first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan. The entire Carolina offense should bounce back this weekend in the Week 18 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the NFC South title and a trip to the postseason on the line. Don't count out Coker being a serviceable WR4/flex option in deeper fantasy football leagues.

Jalen Coker has Only 16 Yards on Two Catches in Week 17

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker caught two passes for 16 yards in the team's Week 17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Carolina WR finished the game with 3.6 PPR points, his lowest fantasy total since Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers. Coker also had back-to-back weeks with fewer than 10 PPR points for the first time since Weeks 9 and 10. In Week 18, Carolina will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the second time this season. Tampa Bay ranked sixth in fantasy points per game allowed to the WR position in the last four weeks leading up to Week 17. In Week 16 against the Buccaneers, Coker had three receptions for 47 yards and 7.7 PPR points. Although the Tampa Bay matchup is not ideal, the overall volume is a bigger concern for Coker, as he has only been targeted five-plus times in a game twice this year. Coker is not recommended for those playing in Week 18, despite him playing in a division title-deciding game.

Jalen Coker Could have Smaller Contributions in the Passing Game In Week 17

Jalen Coker caught three passes for 47 yards in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Carolina WR finished the game with 7.7 PPR points. It was the second time in his last five games that Coker posted fewer than 10 PPR points registered. Carolina will take on the No. 1 Seed in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks, in Week 17. Seattle ranks 12th in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to WRs this year. Coker does not have a great matchup, and his overall volume is concerning. Only twice this season has Coker been targeted 5+ times, and he averages 3.8 targets per game. Despite his low target share, Coker caught touchdown passes in two of his last three games. Coker should still have a role in the Panthers' passing game, but not enough for lineup consideration in most fantasy championship games.

Jalen Coker May Provide A Decent Statistical Floor In Week 16

Jalen Coker delivered one of his better fantasy outings in Week 15 against the Saints. The Carolina WR caught four passes for 60 yards and a touchdown. He finished with 14.0 PPR points, marking the third time in the last four weeks that he posted double-digit PPR points. Carolina will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 16 in a showdown for the NFC South lead. Tampa Bay ranks 17th in Fantasy Points Per Game to WRs this season. Although Coker has a decent matchup, his overall volume is a concern. Only once has Coker been targeted 5+ times in a game this year, and he averages 3.6 targets per game. Still, fantasy players can consider Coker in Week 16 if they need a flex streamer. He has caught a touchdown pass in each of his last two games, and Bryce Young may have to throw frequently to keep pace with the Tampa Bay offense. Considering the magnitude of this matchup for the Panthers, Coker is more likely to stay involved in the passing game this week. He is not an upside play, but can provide a decent statistical floor again.

Jalen Coker To See More Usage Moving Forward?

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker has scored in back-to-back games and is starting to emerge as a reliable option in the passing game. Coker led the Panthers in receiving in their Week 15 loss to the Saints, catching all four of his targets for 60 yards. He notched a season high of 74 receiving yards on four catches (six targets) before the Week 14 bye. The second-year wideout could be in line for an increased role in the Week 16's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if rookie Tetairoa McMillan (ankle, foot) is unable to play. McMillan missed Wednesday's practice, but more information about his status will be available on Thursday and Friday. Coker's usage has been modest in recent weeks, with four targets in four of the past five games, but he's been a playmaker as the team's WR2, posting the fourth-highest explosive-catch rate (22.2%) among wide receivers with at least 15 targets over those five weeks. The Holy Cross product will look to continue his strong production into Week 16 against a Buccaneers defense that just allowed 74 yards on six catches to David Sills V last week.

Jalen Coker Worth Waiver Consideration After Second Straight Strong Game

Much like last year, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker is starting to make some noise late in the season. The 24-year-old former undrafted free agent scored for the second straight game in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints, catching all four of his targets for 60 yards to lead the Panthers in receiving. Before the Week 14 bye, Coker caught four of a season-high six targets for a season-high 74 yards and his first touchdown of the year. It wasn't all great on Sunday against New Orleans, though, as he also lost a fumble. Overall, though, it was a positive day for Coker, who had two catches of 20-plus yards for the first time this year. The Holy Cross alum could take over WR2 duties from Xavier Legette for the final three weeks of the season. He has gone over 50 receiving yards in three of the last four games. Coker is rostered in only 5% of Yahoo leagues.

Jalen Coker is Unlikely to Follow Up with Another Great Performance In Week 15

Jalen Coker came through with his best performance of the year in Week 13 against the Rams before going on bye. The Carolina WR registered 74 yards on four receptions with one touchdown. Coker finished the game with 17.4 PPR points, his highest total of the year. It was the second time in three weeks that he scored 11 or more PPR points. The Panthers will face the New Orleans Saints in Week 15. The Saints rank 11th in Fantasy Points Per game allowed to WRs this season. In Week 10, Coker finished with 5.1 PPR points on three receptions for 21 yards. Coker has not seen enough consistent volume to warrant a roster spot as the fantasy playoffs open. The WR has only been targeted more than four times in a game once this year. If your team advanced to the fantasy playoffs, you likely did not clinch a berth with Coker on the team.

Jalen Coker Gaining More Trust in Carolina?

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker missed the first six weeks of the season due to an injury. Once he returned, Coker was quiet on the field during his first few games. The 24-year-old has picked up his play lately, which could make him an intriguing waiver-wire option coming out of Carolina's Week 14 bye week. Over the last three games, Coker has recorded 11 receptions for 158 yards and one touchdown. Coker appears to be gaining more trust after seeing a season-high six targets in the Week 13 upset win over the Los Angeles Rams. He has put himself on the fantasy radar and could be worth snagging in deep leagues ahead of the Week 15 matchup against the division-rival New Orleans Saints.

Jalen Coker Emerging as Second Option in Carolina's Passing Offense?

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker was a bright spot for the team in their rain-soaked 31-28 win against the visiting Los Angeles Rams, compiling a 4/74/1 line on six targets. The second-year pro was a key contributor in the upset victory, posting team-highs across the board, while snagging his first touchdown of the campaign. Since returning from a quad injury seven games ago, Coker has racked up 18 receptions and 224 yards (25 targets). The numbers are modest at best, although he's just 63 receiving yards behind teammate Xavier Legette, who is only ten catches ahead of him despite making four more appearances. Quarterback Bryce Young has been up and down, but he looked good on Sunday in a tough matchup with less-than-ideal conditions, and Coker has displayed explosiveness getting off the line. He's firmly on the fantasy radar.
