Clock Ticking on Jalen Coker's Buy-Low Window?

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker missed six games last year, but when healthy, he has shown that he can produce fantasy-relevant results. The 24-year-old stepped up as the Panthers' No. 2 receiver behind Tetairoa McMillan, and in doing so, he seemed to pass Xavier Legette on the depth chart. Coker averaged 3.7 catches, 46.9 yards, and 0.4 touchdowns per game from Week 11 through Week 18, ranking as the WR26 in PPR leagues during that span. He continued his explosive outburst with nine catches, 134 yards, and one touchdown in the Panthers' lone playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams. Coker has defied the odds as a 2024 undrafted free agent and is blossoming into a low-end WR3/flex for fantasy football purposes. Coker's slow first half of the 2025 season obscured his final stat line, so managers might have an opportunity to buy low on him in dynasty fantasy football. Managers should send out trade offers to acquire the 24-year-old ahead of a potentially significant breakout campaign in 2026.

Panthers Tender Contract to Jalen Coker

The Carolina Panthers placed exclusive-rights free-agent tenders on wide receivers Jalen Coker and Brycen Tremayne on Wednesday, locking them both in for the 2026 season, according to Darin Gantt of Panthers.com. Neither Coker nor Tremayne will have the opportunity to negotiate with other teams this offseason. The 24-year-old Coker missed the first six games of last season due to a quadriceps injury, but he still managed to finish second in receiving in Carolina with 33 catches on 43 targets for 394 yards and a career-high three touchdowns in 11 regular-season games in his second year in the NFL. Coker emerged as the team's WR2 behind Offensive Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan late in the year, catching 19 passes for 244 yards and all three of his TDs in the final five games. He added nine grabs for 134 yards and a score in the Wild-Card playoff loss to the Rams. If Coker can play in a full season, he has true breakout potential as Carolina's WR2.

Jalen Coker Enters the Offseason as No. 2 Receiver

Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales said that wide receiver Jalen Coker will enter the offseason as the team's No. 2 wideout behind 2025 first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan, according to David Newton of ESPN. Newton also writes that the Panthers' top offseason priority is locking Coker down long term. He's an exclusive-rights free agent, so the team could tender him an offer for the league minimum to ensure that he's around in 2026 at a low cost. The 24-year-old came on strong late in 2025 and had nine catches for 134 yards and one touchdown in the Wild-Card loss to the Los Angeles Rams. If the Panthers truly believe in Coker, they could look to lock him up long-term at a reasonable price. Injuries have limited Coker to 22 regular-season games in his first two years in the NFL, but when on the field, he's been productive, catching 65 passes for 872 yards and five touchdowns on 89 targets. If he can finally stay healthy in Year 3, Coker has true breakout potential.

Breakout Season Could be Coming if Jalen Coker Stays Healthy

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker's stats in his first two NFL seasons don't stand out. He has produced 65 catches on 89 targets for 872 yards and five touchdowns in 22 regular-season games. The 24-year-old former undrafted free agent out of Holy Cross has played in exactly 11 games in each of his first two years in the NFL due to injuries. A quad ailment was the reason he didn't debut in 2025 until Week 7. It took Coker a little while to get in the groove, but once he did, he was essentially Carolina's WR2 behind impressive rookie first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan. In the last five games of the regular season, Coker had 19 grabs for 244 yards and three touchdowns, and he stepped up in the playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams for a 9-134-1 line. If Coker can finally stay healthy in 2026, he has the potential for a Year 3 breakout as the Panthers' WR2.

Jalen Coker Explodes for 134 Yards as Panthers Fall Short

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker caught nine of his 12 targets for 134 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's Wild Card loss against the Los Angeles Rams. Coker stepped up as Bryce Young's favorite target as the former No. 1 pick attempted 40 passes in the Panthers' comeback effort. The Panthers' effort, fueled by a career-best game from Coker, was admirable, but it came up short against a Rams team that dropped 14 points early. Coker has a chance to enter the 2026 season as Carolina's No. 2 wide receiver behind Tetairoa McMillan and ahead of Xavier Legette. We can't rule out the possibility of Carolina adding another quality pass-catcher during the offseason, though.

Jalen Coker an Intriguing WR2 for Wild-Card Weekend

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker got a late start to the 2025 season while recovering from an injury, but he quickly established himself as the WR2 behind rookie first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan, finishing the regular season with 33 catches on 43 targets for 394 yards and a career-high three touchdowns in 11 games played in his second NFL season. Coker hasn't been flashy by any means and was not a top-50 wideout in terms of half-PPR points per game, but he is rolling into the postseason having scored three times in the last five games. He'll be an interesting low-end WR2 option for fantasy managers against the visiting Los Angeles Rams on Wild-Card weekend this Saturday. Coker caught four of six targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in the upset win over L.A. on Nov. 30, and the Rams defense allowed the 11th-most half-PPR points per game to opposing receivers during the regular season.

Jalen Coker Could Rebound in Big Divisional Rematch

The Carolina Panthers' offense was virtually non-existent in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, with quarterback Bryce Young throwing for only 54 yards on the day. Wide receiver Jalen Coker caught both of his targets for only 16 yards, but that was good enough to lead the team. The dud performance broke a string of six straight games in which Coker had at least three receptions. In Weeks 13, 15, and 16, the 24-year-old pass-catcher had a combined 11 receptions on 15 targets for 181 yards and two touchdown grabs as he appeared to be trending towards becoming the No. 2 WR behind rookie first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan. The entire Carolina offense should bounce back this weekend in the Week 18 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the NFC South title and a trip to the postseason on the line. Don't count out Coker being a serviceable WR4/flex option in deeper fantasy football leagues.

Jalen Coker has Only 16 Yards on Two Catches in Week 17

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker caught two passes for 16 yards in the team's Week 17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Carolina WR finished the game with 3.6 PPR points, his lowest fantasy total since Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers. Coker also had back-to-back weeks with fewer than 10 PPR points for the first time since Weeks 9 and 10. In Week 18, Carolina will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the second time this season. Tampa Bay ranked sixth in fantasy points per game allowed to the WR position in the last four weeks leading up to Week 17. In Week 16 against the Buccaneers, Coker had three receptions for 47 yards and 7.7 PPR points. Although the Tampa Bay matchup is not ideal, the overall volume is a bigger concern for Coker, as he has only been targeted five-plus times in a game twice this year. Coker is not recommended for those playing in Week 18, despite him playing in a division title-deciding game.

Jalen Coker Could have Smaller Contributions in the Passing Game In Week 17

Jalen Coker caught three passes for 47 yards in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Carolina WR finished the game with 7.7 PPR points. It was the second time in his last five games that Coker posted fewer than 10 PPR points registered. Carolina will take on the No. 1 Seed in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks, in Week 17. Seattle ranks 12th in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to WRs this year. Coker does not have a great matchup, and his overall volume is concerning. Only twice this season has Coker been targeted 5+ times, and he averages 3.8 targets per game. Despite his low target share, Coker caught touchdown passes in two of his last three games. Coker should still have a role in the Panthers' passing game, but not enough for lineup consideration in most fantasy championship games.

Jalen Coker May Provide A Decent Statistical Floor In Week 16

Jalen Coker delivered one of his better fantasy outings in Week 15 against the Saints. The Carolina WR caught four passes for 60 yards and a touchdown. He finished with 14.0 PPR points, marking the third time in the last four weeks that he posted double-digit PPR points. Carolina will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 16 in a showdown for the NFC South lead. Tampa Bay ranks 17th in Fantasy Points Per Game to WRs this season. Although Coker has a decent matchup, his overall volume is a concern. Only once has Coker been targeted 5+ times in a game this year, and he averages 3.6 targets per game. Still, fantasy players can consider Coker in Week 16 if they need a flex streamer. He has caught a touchdown pass in each of his last two games, and Bryce Young may have to throw frequently to keep pace with the Tampa Bay offense. Considering the magnitude of this matchup for the Panthers, Coker is more likely to stay involved in the passing game this week. He is not an upside play, but can provide a decent statistical floor again.
