AJ Dillon News
Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon gained 33 yards on nine carries during the team's 20-16 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 18. Despite the poor end to the season, the 24-year-old was able to finish the year strong for fantasy managers after an extremely disappointing 11-game stretch to open 2022. The high hopes for a breakout season from one of the hottest backs to end the 2021 regular season were dashed early, as Dillon was the RB41 overall throughout the first 11 weeks of the season. His carry count took a nosedive starting in Week 5, and with the Packers' offense struggling mightily all season, he only began to cash in on red zone opportunities over the season's final six games. The third-year back also saw his total receiving numbers dip, catching six fewer passes for 107 fewer yards than he gained in 2021. Heading into 2023, Dillon will still be dealing with Aaron Jones, who signed a four-year extension in 2021, so his upside will continue to be capped. He will likely rank as a fringe RB2 come August.
Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon will take on the division-rival Detroit Lions Sunday night. The third-year back has been worked into the offense much more over the past four games, and while he has not gained the most yards on the ground over the past three weeks, he has a five-game touchdown streak heading into Week 18. Teammate Aaron Jones (knee, ankle) is on track to play again this week despite the questionable tag but has been getting only a few more touches per game than Dillon recently. With Green Bay shifting to a more balanced approach on offense, the 24-year-old has finished inside the top 24 five games in a row and will remain a solid RB2 this week with high touchdown upside.
Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon took 12 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown during the team's 41-17 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The game was shaping up to be a disappointment for the third-year back, but he found his way into the end zone on the first play of the fourth quarter on a two-yard run, salvaging what could have been a poor fantasy performance. Teammate Aaron Jones did not look limited by the injuries he was nursing coming into this game, but only received two more carries than Dillon. With a five-game touchdown streak under his belt, the 24-year-old heads into next week's divisional matchup against the Detroit Lions as a solid FLEX option for those playing for their fantasy football title in Week 18.
