Mitchell Evans Fantasy Stats

Carolina Panthers tight end Mitchell Evans caught all three of his targets for 20 yards and totaled 5.0 PPR points in Sunday's upset win over the Los Angeles Rams. The Carolina TE played on 53% of snaps in Week 13, his highest percentage since Week 6. In 13 games played this season, Evans has averaged 3.1 PPR points per game. After a bye, Carolina will face the New Orleans Saints for the second time in 2025 in Week 15. Over the last four weeks leading up to Week 13, the Saints ranked 19th in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to TEs. When the Panthers last faced New Orleans, Evans was a non-factor, failing to catch his only target. Although the matchup is favorable for TEs, none of the Carolina TEs should be rostered during the fantasy football playoffs. Evans has been targeted more than once in a game four times this year.

While second-year pro Ja'Tavion Sanders is expected to operate as the starter and primary pass-catcher at the position, Evans could still carve out a role for himself on offense. The fifth-round NFL Draft selection currently sits third on the depth chart behind Sanders and Tommy Tremble (back), but the latter was recently activated from the PUP list and hasn't made much of an impact through his first four campaigns. Evans is unlikely to provide fantasy value as a rookie, but he is worth a flyer as a deep-league dynasty stash.

While he caught only one pass in his two preseason appearances, he acquitted himself well enough as a blocker to potentially find himself on the right side of the roster bubble. With Tommy Tremble only recently being activated from the PUP list, there could be an opportunity for Evans to see the field early in two-TE sets along with Ja'Tavion Sanders. Evans was one of PFF's highest-rated tight ends in the country before the ACL injury that ended his 2023 season. While the recovery has been long, he has shown enough pass-catching prowess to make him an interesting dynasty stash in leagues with deep benches or taxi squads.
