Germaine Pratt Signs One-Year Deal With Raiders

Former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt signed a one-year, $4.25 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday, a source tells NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Pratt can earn up to $500,000 in incentives. The 29-year-old has quickly landed on his feet after the Bengals released him on Monday. The former third-rounder (72nd overall) in 2019 out of North Carolina State will get a fresh start in the desert after spending the first six years of his NFL career in Cincy, where he racked up 616 tackles (355 solo), 3.5 sacks, 32 tackles for loss, 10 QB hits, seven interceptions, 23 pass breakups, seven forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries in 96 games (88 starts). He has had over 100-plus tackles in each of the last two years, including a career-high 143 (80 solo) in 17 starts in 2024. While Pratt is a strong tackler, he was exposed in coverage and could be more of a rotational linebacker in Vegas.

Bengals Releasing Germaine Pratt

ESPN's Ben Baby reports that the Cincinnati Bengals are releasing linebacker Germaine Pratt ahead of the team's mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Cincinnati drafted Pratt with the ninth pick in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and he's appeared in 15 or more games in each of his six seasons, including 34 straight starts over the previous two. The 29-year-old tallied a career-high -- and team-leading -- 143 tackles (80 solo) in 2024, with two picks, two forced fumbles, and two recovered fumbles. Pratt formally requested a trade back in February, but after the Bengals could not find a suitable partner, they decided to cut ties with him. It seems favorable that he'll draw interest from another linebacker-needy organization.

Germaine Pratt Requests Trade Out Of Cincinnati

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt requested a trade on Wednesday, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Pratt was a captain for the Bengals last season and posted a team-high 143 total tackles (80 solo) to go along with five tackles for loss, six passes defended, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. The 28-year-old has spent his entire career with the Bengals since being selected in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of N.C. State. With the Bengals looking to find a way to keep Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Trey Hendrickson long-term, they could be willing to honor Pratt's request.

Bengals Re-Sign Germaine Pratt For Three Years

The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed linebacker Germaine Pratt to a three-year, $21 million deal on Monday, according to a source. He will receive $10.35 million in Year 1 and $15.15 million over the final two years of the deal. Pratt has started 54 career games and now remains in Cincinnati. The former third-round pick in 2019 had a career-high 99 tackles (50 solo), one sack, six tackles for loss, two interceptions, 10 passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 15 regular season starts for Cincy last year. He's an emerging defender for the Bengals and was one of their key free agents this week, especially after the team just lost safeties Jessie Bates and Vonn Bell to the Falcons and Panthers, respectively.

Germaine Pratt Lands On Reserve/COVID-19 List

The Cincinnati Bengals have placed linebacker Germaine Pratt on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday. Bengals offensive lineman Xavier Su'a-Filo was designated to return from the injured reserve in a corresponding move. Pratt has been a tackle machine recently, racking up 39 tackles (21 solos, 18 assists) over his last four games. The 25-year-old will need to clear COVID protocols to be eligible to play in Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Fantasy managers in IDP leagues should continue to monitor the situation closely and look for other options at linebacker if Pratt isn't cleared by Sunday. Stay tuned.
