Ronnie Harrison Jr. News
The Indianapolis Colts signed former Cleveland Browns safety Ronnie Harrison to an undisclosed one-year deal on Monday. The deal was confirmed by agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. Harrison was taken in the third round of the 2018 draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars out of Alabama. The 26-year-old defensive back played two years in Jacksonville before spending the last three seasons in Cleveland. Harrison saw his playing time dip considerably in 2022 and finished with a career-low 24 tackles (16 solo) and half a sack in 16 games (five starts). With Julian Blackmon (hamstring) and Rodney Thomas (toe) currently injured at training camp, Harrison will provide veteran depth for Indy's secondary while hoping to make the final roster.
The Cleveland Browns are re-signing safety Ronnie Harrison to an undisclosed one-year deal on Friday, according to his agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha. Harrison wasn't very good in coverage last year for Cleveland, but he was decent against the run. He ultimately finished with 58 tackles (40 solo), four tackles for loss, one sack, one interception and three passes defensed in 12 games (11 starts) in his second season with the Browns. The 24-year-old missed some time while on the COVID-19 list last season and will return for his third year with the Browns in 2022. Harrison was originally a third-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018 out of Alabama.
Cleveland Browns safety Ronnie Harrison was the latest Browns player to be placed on the league's Reserve/COVID-19 list, although head coach Kevin Stefanski isn't willing to completely rule Harrison out for Saturday against the Las Vegas Raiders just yet. Cleveland has been one of the hardest-hit teams from a recent uptick in COVID-19 positives around the league. Along with quarterback Baker Mayfield and wide receiver Jarvis Landry, the Browns also placed cornerback Troy Hill, safety John Johnson III, defensive tackle Malik McDowell and defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo on the list this week. It remains to be seen if any of these players will gain clearance before Saturday's game. Stay tuned.
