Tai Felton Yet To Play an Offensive Snap

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Tai Felton is still searching for his first offensive snap as Minnesota prepares to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3. The rookie from Maryland has seen the field, but exclusively on special teams, even as Minnesota has needed extra help at receiver with Jordan Addison (suspension) out for the first three games. It's not a great sign for either Felton or the Vikings, who passed on receiver Elic Ayomanor and running backs Cam Skattebo and Bhayshul Tuten, among others, to select Felton in the third round. Felton is a safe drop in redraft leagues, but still a possible taxi-squad stash in dynasty formats.

Tai Felton On Back Burner As Vikings Face Bears

Rookie wide receiver Tai Felton of the Minnesota Vikings appears to have only a minor role as his team takes on the Chicago Bears on Monday, keeping him off the fantasy radar. The rookie from Maryland looked to have a pathway to playing time with Jordan Addison suspended, Rondale Moore (knee) out for the season, and Jalen Nailor (hand) in jeopardy of missing the opening week, but Minnesota opted for veteran help instead by reacquiring Adam Thielen in a trade with Carolina. With Nailor carrying no injury designation, Felton is realistically the team's sixth option behind its top three receivers, tight end T.J. Hockenson, and pass-friendly running back Aaron Jones. Felton is a worthwhile taxi-squad stash in dynasty formats, but he can be left on the waiver wire in redraft leagues.

Tai Felton's Upside Diminished With Arrival of Adam Thielen

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Tai Felton had a chance to make an early-season impact, but that is seemingly out the door with the addition of Adam Thielen. The Vikings brought back the 35-year-old earlier this week to shore up depth concerns at the position. Jordan Addison (suspension) will miss the first three games of the season, and Jalen Nailor (hand) is a question mark for Week 1. If Nailor is active on game day, Felton is, at best, the fourth wide receiver in the rotation. The third-round pick will fall further down the depth chart when Addison's ban is lifted. Minnesota has largely had a concentrated passing attack when all options are healthy, so it's unlikely Felton will make any noticeable impact in 2025. He can stay off draft boards in redraft formats.

Tai Felton Held Out of Friday's Game With Arm Soreness

Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Tai Felton (arm) was held out of Friday's preseason finale against the Tennessee Titans due to arm soreness. The Maryland product was lifted from practice earlier in the week but was unable to progress enough to suit up. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as this injury could linger during the opening weeks of the regular season. The Vikings selected Felton in the third round of this year's draft with the 102nd overall pick. During the first two weeks of the preseason, Felton was relatively quiet, as he saw just two targets in each game. He combined for 46 total receiving yards. Fantasy managers in deeper formats should continue to monitor his status early in the season as he could eventually carve out a role with Jordan Addison serving a three-game suspension during the first three weeks of the campaign.

Tai Felton's Rookie Season Likely to be Spent on Special Teams

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Tai Felton was a third-round selection by the organization in the 2025 NFL Draft. Needless to say, he joined a crowded pass-catching group consisting of Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson. The Maryland product would have trouble earning targets even as the WR3, but Jalen Nailor remains the favorite to win that job. "It might take some time. Felton may play offensive snaps if Addison is suspended, but expect his rookie campaign to be spent mostly on special teams," Alec Lewis of The Athletic wrote. "Felton must limit his drop rate and improve as a route runner." The 22-year-old is fresh off a 96-catch, 1,224-yard, nine-touchdown campaign in 2024, but it sounds like he'll have a limited role on offense to begin his career. He can continue to be stashed in dynasty leagues, but barring injury, he likely won't be worth rostering in redraft setups.

Minnesota Signs Tai Felton Among Four Rookies

The Minnesota Vikings have signed wide receiver Tai Felton, defensive lineman Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, linebacker Kobe King, and tight end Gavin Bartholomew to their rookie deals on Friday. As for Felton, his contract is a four-year, $6.13 million agreement after the team selected him with the final pick of the third round of April's draft. He'll join one of the better WR corps in Minnesota alongside starters Jalen Nailor, Jordan Addison, and Justin Jefferson. Furthermore, tight end T.J. Hockenson poses a decent target threat at tight end. The Maryland alum has a ways to go before he sees playing time, but he's uber-athletic (4.37 40-yard dash), and it wouldn't be surprising to see him surpass Nailor in the pecking order in due time. Felton had a strong final season at Maryland (94/1,124/9).

Vikings Select Tai Felton To Finish Day 2

The Minnesota Vikings have selected Maryland wide receiver Tai Felton with the 102nd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. This selection represented the final pick of the third round and officially marked the end of Day 2. Felton developed into a talented draft prospect over four seasons at Maryland, culminating with a senior campaign in which he caught 96 passes for 1,124 yards and nine touchdowns. Minnesota already has Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison leading its wide receiver room, so Felton will merely offer valuable depth. He's a solid developmental piece who could ultimately compete with Jalen Nailor and Rondale Moore for the No. 3 receiver role.
