The Baltimore Ravens are re-signing outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy to a two-year deal worth up to $9 million. His new contract will pay him $5.25 million in 2024. Originally selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of BYU, Van Noy has appeared in games for five organizations. In 142 games with the Lions, Patriots, Dolphins, Chargers, and Ravens, he has racked up 500 tackles (338 solo), 42.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries, three interceptions, one defensive touchdown, and 28 run stuffs. In his lone season with Baltimore, he set a career-high in sacks with nine. The 33-year-old is likely at the tail end of his career, but the Ravens are ensuring he's on the roster to help disrupt quarterbacks in 2024 and 2025.
The Baltimore Ravens are signing free-agent linebacker Kyle Van Noy to their 53-man active roster on Saturday, according to a source. The move comes just four days after the team added Van Noy to their practice squad, and now he inks a deal that positions him to be on the roster for the rest of the 2023 season. The 32-year-old 10-year veteran and three-time Super Bowl champion will give the Ravens some more depth in the middle of their defense the rest of the way after injuries to Tyus Bowser, Malik Hamm, David Ojabo and Odafe Oweh. The former second-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2014 out of BYU played 17 games (13 starts) for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022 and had five sacks, 46 tackles (30 solo), eight tackles for loss and nine QB hits.
The Baltimore Ravens are signing veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy to its practice squad on Tuesday. Van Noy was selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft and has spent time with the Detroit Lions, New England Patriots (two stints), Miami Dolphins, and Los Angeles Chargers. He has 470 tackles, 33.5 sacks, and three interceptions thus far in his career. While the 32-year-old will start on the practice squad, there's a good chance he'll eventually be added to the active roster as a versatile defensive piece for John Harbaugh's stop unit.
Free-agent linebacker Kyle Van Noy is expected to visit with the Baltimore Ravens. The veteran linebacker has bounced around over the last few seasons. Despite that, Van Noy has put together respectable numbers basically wherever he goes. Last season, he recorded 46 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and five sacks in 17 games (13 starts) for the Los Angeles Chargers. The 32-year-old is likely looking for a one-year deal on a competitive roster. On paper, this makes sense for both sides, but we'll see if they can come to an agreement on a deal.
The Los Angeles Chargers signed free-agent outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy to an undisclosed deal on Thursday. Van Noy was released by the New England Patriots in March after his second stint with the team. He recorded 66 tackles (42 solo), five sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery for a touchdown and 10 passes defensed last year for New England in 16 games. The 31-year-old was originally a second-round pick by the Detroit Lions in 2014 out of BYU. Van Noy played in three straight Super Bowls with the Patriots from 2016-18, winning two of them. In his eight NFL seasons with the Lions, Patriots and Dolphins, he has recorded 414 tackles (280 solo), 28.5 sacks, 54 QB hits and 39 tackles for loss in 111 games (73 starts). Van Noy should be a starter for a very strong Bolts defense this season.
New England Patriots veteran free-agent linebacker Kyle Van Noy is meeting with the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday, according to a source. If all goes well with the visit, there's a good chance he'll sign with the Bolts, and he could be a potential important addition to head coach Brandon Staley's defense. The 31-year-old was released by the Patriots in March. In 16 games (eight starts) for New England last year, he recorded 66 tackles (42 solo), five tackles for loss, seven QB hits, five sacks, one interception for a touchdown, 10 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. If Van Noy signs in Los Angeles, he'd likely be a starter for an improving defensive unit.
The New England Patriots released linebacker Kyle Van Noy on Monday, according to a source. The move creates just under $5 million in salary cap space for the 2022 season. Van Noy immediately becomes a free agent and can sign with another team right away. He played for New England from 2016-19 before joining the Miami Dolphins in 2020. Van Noy returned to the Patriots last year to post 66 tackles (42 solo), five tackles for loss, seven QB hits, one interception for a touchdown, 10 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and five sacks in 16 regular season games (eight starts). The 30-year-old has become a free agent for the third straight season.
New England Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy has been placed on the PUP list. The injury is currently undisclosed, but not believed to be anything serious. He'll be joined by right tackle Trent Brown and defensive back Stephon Gilmore on the PUP list. Van Noy is back in New England after a horrendous year with the Miami Dolphins. It's worth noting Van Noy recorded 6.5 sacks with the Patriots in 2019. The organization is hopeful that a reunion can get him back into his old form.
The New England Patriots signed free-agent linebacker Kyle Van Noy to a two-year deal worth up to $13.2 million, according to a source. After just one season with the Miami Dolphins, Van Noy will return to New England, where he previously played a variety of roles for head coach Bill Belichick. He played both inside linebacker and edge rusher for the Dolphins and had 69 tackles and six sacks in an up-and-down 2020 season. A combination of Van Noy and linebacker Matt Judson on the edges should help the Pats improve on one of their big defensive weaknesses from a year ago. Their run defense ranked 26th in the league last year, while opposing rushers averaged 4.5 yards per carry. In four seasons with the Patriots, Van Noy had 16.5 sacks, five forced fumbles and 221 tackles. New England also released defensive tackle Beau Allen and wide receiver Marqise Lee on Thursday.
The Miami Dolphins released linebacker Kyle Van Noy on Wednesday just one year into his four-year, $51 million deal that he signed last March. The Dolphins tried to trade him in the last week but were unsuccessful. Van Noy was set to make $12.5 million in 2021, a number that would've been fully guaranteed if he was still on the roster next week. Miami will save $9.775 million in salary cap space by cutting him, and they will be counting on rising young linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel to take on a larger role now that Van Noy is no longer on the roster. Van Noy recorded six sacks in 14 games last year while playing both off-the-ball linebacker and edge rusher. He should attract plenty of interest on the open market as a versatile veteran defender.
