Isaiah Likely News
The Baltimore Ravens are likely going to be without tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) for the rest of the season, but NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that the team isn't expected to change their game plan or playbook and expect Isaiah Likely to be able to run the same plays as Andrews did as their primary pass-catching tight end. The second-year tight end has a big opportunity for the rest of the season in a high-scoring Ravens offense, although quarterback Lamar Jackson could focus more on targeting receivers Zay Flowers, Odell Beckham Jr. and Rashod Bateman more in the passing attack. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues should consider Likely a TE1/2 streaming option, but he's certainly not going to put up numbers anywhere close to Andrews', so temper expectations.
Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely will step into one of the most used tight end roles in the league, but he hasn't exactly stepped up consistently when Mark Andrews (ankle) was out before. In Week 1, while Andrews was on the sidelines, Likely caught his only target for four yards. Now that the offense had some time to get the new playbook down, maybe Likely sees some more action this time around, but he's been used as run blocker more often than not. The Chargers rank 30th against opposing tight ends though, so if Likely gets to run some routes, he'll find open spots. He can be considered a risky option with borderline TE1/TE2 potential.
Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely was one of the trending pickups when Mark Andrews (quad) was ruled out, but didn't reward any managers that decided to start him. Against the Texans, Likely finished with just one catch for four yards. Lamar Jackson showed that he wasn't relying on just any tight end, as both Likely and Charlie Kolar only saw two targets total. Heading into Week 2 against Cincinnati, Likely doesn't seem to have the streaming value that he once had if Andrews had to miss another game.
