Kayvon Thibodeaux News
New York Giants rookie defensive lineman Kayvon Thibodeaux (hip), who was the fifth overall pick in this year's draft, said he'll be ready for training camp at the end of July after sustaining a minor hip injury in spring practice. "I'm fully healthy, I'm doing fine," Thibodeaux said. "I'm back training and I'll be ready to go for training camp." In his three seasons at Oregon, Thibodeaux has 126 tackles (84 solo), 19 sacks, seven passes defensed and three forced fumbles. His presence should help improve a Giants pass rush that had just 34 sacks last year, which was tied for 22nd in the league. Injuries could be an issue for the 21-year-old, who battled ailments in his final two seasons in college.
New York Giants defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux (hip) sat out during the team's final OTAs while missing minicamp with an undisclosed injury. However, it was recently revealed the rookie sustained a "tweaked hip" this spring. Fortunately, the ailment isn't considered serious, although head coach Brian Daboll couldn't answer if the former Oregon Duck would be ready for training camp. Thibodeaux, who was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, had 19 sacks throughout his collegiate career. While the hip injury is something for managers to monitor, it shouldn't stop anyone from taking him early in IDP fantasy formats, at least unless things take a turn in the wrong direction moving forward.
Former Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux officially signed with the Giants on Saturday, agreeing to a four-year, $24.55 million deal. The contract is fully guaranteed, with a team option for a fifth year. A No. 5 overall selection, Thibodeaux was highly touted entering the 2022 NFL Draft. The 21-year-old was dominant in college, totaling 19 sacks throughout his time with the Ducks. It may take him some time to get his footing under him at the professional level. However, he should be a force for many years to come, so IDP dynasty managers should expect him to fly off the board quickly.
