Andrew Thomas Has Season-Ending Foot Surgery

New York Giants star left tackle Andrew Thomas (foot) had successful surgery on Wednesday morning to fix a Lisfranc foot injury, according to sources, and is expected to miss the rest of the 2024 season. After signing a contract extension, Thomas will have played in just 16 of 34 games in his first two seasons with the club. He's one of the team's most indispensable players, so his loss will surely be felt for an offense that already was having issues moving the ball consistently through the first six weeks of the season. They could get rookie sensation Malik Nabers (concussion) back this weekend, but Thomas' injury cannot be overstated for quarterback Daniel Jones and the rest of the offense. Josh Ezeudu is expected to start on Jones' blind side moving forward. Thomas should be ready for OTAs next spring.

Andrew Thomas Could Miss Rest Of The Year

New York Giants offensive tackle Andrew Thomas (foot) suffered a potential season-ending injury against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6. He is slated to meet with a foot expert to determine the next steps in his recovery. If Thomas were to have surgery to correct the issue, then his season would likely be over. Thomas is about as important an offensive player as any for the Giants. He is the anchor of an already shaky offensive line. His absence would significantly negatively affect the value of quarterback Daniel Jones, running backs Devin Singletary (groin) and Tyrone Tracy Jr., and wide receivers Malik Nabers (concussion) and Wan'Dale Robinson. Fantasy managers should monitor the situation closely.

Giants Restructure Contract Of Tackle Andrew Thomas, Create Cap Space

The New York Giants restructured the contract of left tackle Andrew Thomas to create $3.34 million in salary cap space on Monday. The move gives the Giants $18 million to work with as teams prepare to make their final signings heading into the season. The Giants have plenty of holes to plug along the offensive line and could use a more established No. 2 wide receiver opposite rookie Malik Nabers. It will be difficult for the Giants to put a lot of that cap space to good use this late in the preseason with so many quality players signed already. However, with final roster cuts around the corner, cap casualties of other teams could be prime selections for the Giants.

Andrew Thomas Practices In Full On Thursday

New York Giants offensive tackle Andrew Thomas (knee) upgraded to a full participant in practice on Thursday. He had been limited the day prior. This is great news for the Giants' offense, specifically Tommy Devito and Saquon Barkley, as they face a creative Bill Belichick-led defense. With that said, it's hard to trust any Giants player outside of Barkley in fantasy football this week.

Andrew Thomas Active For The Giants

New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas (knee) is officially active for Week 11 against the division-rival Washington Commanders on Sunday after coming into the contest with a questionable tag. Thomas tweaked his knee in the blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday but will be active for just the fourth time all season. His presence is good news for rookie quarterback Tommy Devito and the Giants offense, but it might not make much of a difference. Former first-round right tackle Evan Neal (ankle) will miss his fourth game in the last five weeks. Besides running back Saquon Barkley, fantasy managers would be wise to stay away from the Giants offense for the foreseeable future.

Andrew Thomas Expected To Play Sunday

New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas (knee), who is questionable to play in Week 11 against the division-rival Washington Commanders, is expected to play on Sunday, according to a source. Thomas has only played in three games this year due to injuries, and it hasn't helped that the rest of New York's offensive line has been extremely banged up as well. It's good news that Thomas should be able to protect rookie quarterback Tommy Devito's blind side on Sunday, but the Commanders defense/special teams is still a very strong streaming option against one of the worst offense lines and offenses in the league this week. Thomas should play for the G-Men, but right tackle Evan Neal (ankle) will miss his fourth straight game.

Andrew Thomas Questionable, Evan Neal Out For Giants O-Line

New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas (knee) is questionable to play in Week 11 against the Washington Commanders, while offensive lineman Evan Neal (ankle) has been ruled out. Thomas missed seven games after getting injured in the season opener. He started the last two weeks at left tackle but injured his knee in the Week 10 blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys and never returned. Given the injury history of the 24-year-old, there's a good chance he won't be able to make it out there this Sunday against Washington. It would be further bad news for an offensive line that has been one of the worst in the NFL in 2023. If Thomas cannot go, Justin Pugh should start on rookie quarterback Tommy Devito's blind side.

Andrew Thomas Injures Knee, Questionable To Return Sunday

New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas (knee) exited during the first half of Week 10 versus the Dallas Cowboys. He was carted to the locker room and ruled questionable to return. It's been a tough year for Thomas who returned from a seven-game absence just one week ago. Joshua Miles should fill in as Tommy Devito's blindside protector until Thomas can return.

Andrew Thomas, Evan Neal Officially Returning Sunday

New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring) and right tackle Evan Neal (ankle) are active for Week 9 versus the Las Vegas Raiders. Both players had been listed as questionable. Thomas makes his return following a seven-game absence while Neal is back after missing two contests. Getting both tackles back is huge for a Giants squad that desperately needs to protect Daniel Jones (neck), who is also making his return from an injury. Behind the blocking skills of Thomas and Neal, Jones is a fantasy QB2 while Saquon Barkley is an RB1.

Andrew Thomas, Evan Neal Questionable For Week 9

New York Giants offensive tackles Andrew Thomas (hamstring) and Evan Neal (ankle) have taken "steps forward" this week and will be listed as questionable to play in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders, according to head coach Brian Daboll. It's possible the Giants could have their starting left and right tackle this weekend, which would be great news for quarterback Daniel Jones (neck), who is expected to play after missing the last three games. Thomas has been sidelined since the season opener, while Neal has missed the last two games with a lingering ankle injury. The Giants terrible offensive line could use all the help they can get against All-Pro pass-rusher Maxx Crosby and Company in Week 9.
