Giants Plan On Using Abdul Carter Everywhere

New York Giants rookie first-round pass-rusher Abdul Carter was being worked out at linebacker during the team's rookie minicamp over the weekend during individual periods. However, the Giants plan on using Carter everywhere -- at edge rusher, inside, and dropping back -- according to SNY's Connor Hughes. The 21-year-old has impressive and elite physical gifts, so the G-Men plan on using him in as many ways as they can to maximize his potential after taking him third overall in this year's NFL draft out of Penn State. Carter could become a force in IDP fantasy leagues sooner than later for a Giants pass-rush that already features Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux. In his final season with the Nittany Lions, Carter racked up 12 sacks and a whopping 23.5 tackles for loss, showing just how disruptive he can be in the backfield.

Giants Draft Abdul Carter At Third Overall

The New York Giants selected Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night. Carter was hands down the best defensive prospect in this year's draft class and was a unanimous All-American selection. He lived in opponent's backfield and led FBS with 23.5 tackles for loss in 2024. Carter will combine with Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns for the Giants to boost their pass rush moving forward in a division that includes the reigning Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles. Carter has an amazing first step off the line as he rushes the passer and has a high motor. Despite dealing with several injuries during the pre-draft process -- he didn't require surgery for his foot -- the 21-year-old didn't fall outside of the top five picks this year. Carter could make the kind of immediate impact that Micah Parsons did in Dallas.

Titans Plan To Meet With Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter, Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders

The Tennessee Titans will have top-30 visits with Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter, Miami quarterback Cam Ward and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, as expected, before the start of free agency on March 12. The Titans hold the top pick in this year's NFL draft in April. Around six of the team's other top-30 visits will be for first-round options in case they trade down within the first round, and the other 20 will be for players they might look to draft in the later rounds this year. Aside from the top overall pick, Tennessee has the No. 35 selection in the second round, two fourth-round picks (one from Seattle), two fifth-rounders (one from the Chiefs), a sixth-round pick, and a seventh-round selection. Even though the Titans are expected to add a QB this year, it may not come with the No. 1 overall pick if they decide to trade for or sign a veteran signal-caller.

Abdul Carter Won't Need Surgery

Doctors told Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter (foot, shoulder) he won't need surgery after additional scans on his right foot, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Carter, who is in play for the first overall pick in this year's NFL draft, isn't working out at the Combine this week in Indianapolis, but he will work out at Penn State's Pro Day on March 28. "I couldn't be more confident that this will be a non-factor where he's drafted," Carter's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said on Thursday. "He will put on a show at his pro day." The 21-year-old dealt with a stress reaction in his right foot late last season, but it shouldn't affect his draft stock as one of the best overall players available. Carter is also dealing with a shoulder injury, but the 2024 Big 10 Defensive Player of the Year should be ready to go for Week 1 of his rookie year in the NFL this fall. Whoever drafts Carter could have a generational talent on their hands.

Abdul Carter Close To Full Health

Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter (shoulder), who will not work out at the NFL Combine this week in Indianapolis due to a shoulder injury that he suffered late last year, said he is close to being 100 percent healthy. Once he's cleared, Carter plans to do a battery of workouts at Penn State's Pro Day on March 28. "I think I'm about 90 percent right now. I feel like the next month, it's going to be really close to 100," Carter said. While either Miami quarterback Cam Ward or Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders are projected to No. 1 overall in this year's NFL draft, Carter is also in play and said he feels "like I'm the best player in the country." The 6-foot-3, 248-pounder proved to be a game-changer while recording 12 sacks for the Nittany Lions in 2024 to earn All-American status. Despite his shoulder injury, Carter should be a top-five pick in April's draft.

Abdul Carter Won't Work Out At NFL Combine

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter (shoulder), who could be the No. 1 overall pick in his year's draft, will not work out at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis this week because he isn't fully recovered from the shoulder injury that he suffered against Boise State, according to his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. The young pass-rusher played through his shoulder injury in the semifinal game against Notre Dame and was only recently cleared to resume training. Carter will do physical exams and interviews at the combine but won't do on-field workouts until his Pro Day at Penn State on March 28. While Carter could be in play for the No. 1 overall pick, it's still more likely that either Miami quarterback Cam Ward or Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders go No. 1 to the Tennessee Titans in April.
