Auston Matthews Could Be Ready For Action On Wednesday
Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews (upper body) might return to the lineup on Wednesday against Florida. After missing eight games with an upper-body injury, Matthews came through his first full practice on Tuesday. "I felt pretty good, so we will just take it step by step," the star forward said following practice. "I don't know, we'll see. I'll get with the training staff and chat some more. The individual skates are much different than a team practice, so this being the first actual team practice I skated in, I felt really good." Matthews worked on a line with Pontus Holmberg and William Nylander. He would make a timely return to help a team affected by injuries. Max Domi (lower body) has been ruled out for at least two more games, with Matthew Knies (upper body), David Kampf (lower body), Max Pacioretty (lower body), and Calle Jarnkrok (groin) also on the shelf.

The 26-year-old grinder has made a positive impact on the Lightning squad this season, recording nine points (five goals, four assists) in 20 games with 25 hits. Cam Atkinson will likely slot back into the lineup if Chaffee can't play on Wednesday against Washington. Atkinson scored in his last appearance but has picked up only two points in 12 games while seeing very limited ice time.

Kevin Lankinen will continue to start for Vancouver on Tuesday versus Boston, and we will likely see Arturs Silovs in Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh. However, Demko will jump ahead of them on the depth chart once he's cleared to play.

Tage Thompson Set To Return On Wednesday

Despite the absence, Thompson remains Buffalo's top goal-scorer with 11 markers. He's also collected seven assists in 16 games. Before exiting the lineup, Thompson scored in four consecutive games. His return will bump Ryan McLeod down to the third line. It's a blow to McLeod's fantasy value, but he has been effective in the role.

Spencer Martin is set to earn another start on Wednesday versus the Rangers. He improved to 2-2-1 with a 6-4 victory over Dallas Monday night. Even if Kochetkov returns, Martin will likely still see more action this week, as there's a back-to-back set waiting for Carolina on Friday and Saturday.

Timo Meier Receives One-Game Suspension
New Jersey Devils winger Timo Meier has been suspended for one game. He will be forced to sit out Wednesday's matchup against St. Louis after cross-checking Nashville forward Zachary L'Heureux in Monday's 5-2 win. Meier has struggled to produce offense and might even benefit from having a night off. He's had only three points the entire month. The Swiss forward has managed seven goals and eight assists in 24 games for the season. Dawson Mercer might regain a top-six position without Meier on Wednesday, with Nolan Foote replacing him in the lineup. Mercer has provided similar production to Meier this season but has been more prolific this month, collecting six points (two goals, four assists) in 11 outings.

Macklin Celebrini Records First Career Three-Point Game
San Jose Sharks center Macklin Celebrini put together his first career three-point game in Monday's 7-2 win against Los Angeles. He reached the milestone with a pair of goals and an assist. Celebrini, who scored his second goal of the night on the power play, became only the second teenager in Sharks history to total three points in a single game, joining the legendary Patrick Marleau. A hip injury delivered an early blow for Celebrin's rookie campaign, but he's starting to make noise, with five points picked up in three games. Despite missing 12 games, Celebrini sits fifth in scoring among first-year players with 10 points (six goals, four assists) in 12 outings.

Hellebuyck now shares the all-time record for the fewest games required to reach 15 wins in a season. He's sporting a 15-2-0 record through 17 starts. Among regular starters, Hellebuyck owns the league's best goals-against average with 2.06 and the best save percentage with .929. His impressive form has given the reigning Vezina Trophy winner a chance to finish a second consecutive month with only one loss.

The Finnish pivot has found a different level lately, averaging two points per game for his last four outings. He's managed 23 points (seven goals, 16 assists) in 21 games overall for the season. This puts him on track to average at least a point per game for a second consecutive campaign, which Aho hasn't yet done in his nine-year NHL career.

Nico Hischier Nets Historic Hat Trick Versus Predators
New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier lit the lamp three times in Monday's 5-2 victory over Nashville, becoming the first Swiss player in NHL history to post a natural hat trick. He achieved the feat in the second period, sticking a power-play goal between two even-strength markers. This was Hischier's second three-point effort in five games. He's found his feet again after slumping through the first couple of weeks this month. Despite the recent barren spell, Hischier boasts strong offensive numbers for the campaign, with 13 goals and 11 assists registered across 24 outings.

The 28-year-old has quietly put together a very strong season, becoming Tampa Bay's second-highest scorer. A run of three consecutive multi-point efforts has pushed Hagel to 28 points (nine goals, 17 assists) for the year. He has formed a deadly one-two punch on the second line with Anthony Cirelli, who scored in a sixth consecutive game on Monday.

Patrik Laine Practices In Regular Jersey
Montreal Canadiens winger Patrik Laine (knee) practiced on Monday in a regular jersey. It's another step forward in his recovery from a knee injury, although Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis doesn't expect Laine to be ready for game action this week. Montreal kicks off a four-game week on Tuesday against Utah. Laine might become an option after the stretch. He should be a top-six piece in Montreal with regular power-play time. The Finnish forward has seen his fantasy stock plummet in recent times, but he was a point-per-game player only two seasons ago and could provide plenty of value for managers if he can stay healthy.

Mason McTavish Returns To Ducks Lineup Monday
Anaheim Ducks forward Mason McTavish (upper body) will be welcomed back to the lineup on Monday versus Seattle. He has been removed from Injured Reserve ahead of the contest, signaling that McTavish is ready to return from a six-game absence. McTavish was on a three-game point streak before getting injured and has recorded eight points (two goals, six assists) in 13 games for the season. Chris Kreider Unavailable Versus Blues
New York Rangers left wing Chris Kreider (upper body) will not play on Monday against St. Louis. He is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Artem Zub Out With Fractured Foot
Ottawa Senators defenseman Artem Zub has suffered a fracture in his foot and will be out for "a while," according to head coach Travis Green. Zub has already missed time with a concussion this season, seeing action in only 11 games. He has posted two assists with 13 shots, 19 blocks, and 16 hits. Zub's injury means a likely promotion to the first defensive pairing for Travis Hamonic, who filled in for the Russian when he was out of the lineup earlier in the season. Hamonic is very defensive-minded and lacks fantasy value. Jacob Bernard-Docker is expected to return to the lineup on the third defensive pairing on Monday versus Calgary.

Pyotr Kochetkov Lands In Concussion Protocol
Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov is in concussion protocol and won't play on Monday against Dallas. Kochetkov was hurt in a collision with teammate Sean Walker in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss and will be out indefinitely. With Frederik Andersen (knee) already ruled out for 8-12 weeks, the Hurricanes are set to ride Spencer Martin for the time being. Martin's 3.21 goals-against average and .870 save percentage won't fill fantasy managers with confidence, but he will be playing behind a top-class team and should still be a good source for wins. Yaniv Perets has been called up from the minors to cover for Martin, who will look to improve a 1-2-1 record on Monday.
