Colorado Rockies second base prospect Adael Amador has enjoyed a nice power surge this week and has begun to settle in at Double-A since the start of the month. In his past six games, Amador has gone deep three times and tallied one triple with eight RBI. Since the start of the month, the 21-year-old boasts a .292/.346/.521 line. The infielder made his major league debut earlier this season and posted a modest .171/.194/.200 line through 10 games. The switch-hitter currently sits as the No. 6 prospect in the Colorado system and 98th-best in the entire sport on MLB.com. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status at Double-A, as he could earn another taste of the majors down the stretch.

Adael Amador Heating Up In Double-A
Colorado Rockies middle infield prospect Adael Amador continued his hot hitting by going 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Wednesday for Double-A Hartford. The home run was his second in as many games for the 21-year-old. Amador is the Rockies No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline and is has been scorching hot of late with nine hits over his last 24 at-bats. Amador got a look with the big-league club earlier in the season, but suffered a right oblique injury and eventually returned to Hartford when activated. The Rockies are in a full rebuild, so there stands a chance that Amador will see some time with the big-league club before the season over, but he is more likely to help dynasty managers in the future versus redraft managers in 2024.

Adael Amador Inconsistent In Return To The Minors
Colorado Rockies infield prospect Adael Amador has had trouble finding consistency since returning to Double-A after his brief major league debut. Since July 1 at Double-A Hartford, the top prospect in Colorado has struggled with a poor .174/.321/.196 line. During this span, he has hit only one extra-base hit and held a disappointing 10:22 BB:K ratio. However, Amador has posted two multi-hit games in his past four games, which could suggest he might be turning the corner. The 21-year-old infielder is considered the 46th-best prospect and could see another opportunity in the major leagues during the second half of the season.

Adael Amador Activated And Sent To Double-A
The Colorado Rockies activated shortstop Adael Amador (oblique) from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Double-A Hartford on Wednesday. Amador had been sidelined since June 21 after being diagnosed with right oblique tightness. Upon his activation the club chose not to keep the 21-year-old on the active roster by sending him back to Hartford, where he has spent most of his year. Amador struggled in his brief stay at the big-league level, but figures to get plenty of playing time on the farm to work out his kinks as he still offers plenty of potential as one of the club's top prospects. Amador could get another chance this summer with the Rockies, but as it stands, his best value is in dynasty leagues.

Adael Amador Sent On Rehab Assignment
The Colorado Rockies have sent shortstop Adael Amador (oblique) on his rehab assignment in Double-A Hartford. Amador was promoted to the Rockies on June 9, but suffered right oblique tightness and has been on the 10-day injured list since June 21. The good news is that Amador has recovered quickly, but his struggles in his brief time at the big-league level might keep him back in Hartford upon his activation. Amador has a bright future ahead of himself, but seem overmatched in his first look at the big-league level with six hits in 35 at-bats and one run and stolen base. Amador should be rostered in dynasty leagues, but is more of a watch-list candidate in redraft leagues for now.

Adael Amador Lands On Injured List With Oblique Strain
The Colorado Rockies placed rookie infielder Adael Amador on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a right-oblique strain and activated second baseman Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) from the injured list in a corresponding move. The Rockies expect Amador to have a quick recovery, although when he's all healed up, he seems likely to head back to the minors to continue his development. Colorado called up their top prospect to handle second-base duties with Rodgers on the shelf, but he looked overmatched in his first taste of big-league pitching and went 6-for-35 (.171) with a double, stolen base, one walk and six strikeouts in 10 games played. The 21-year-old suffered a similar oblique injury earlier this year while playing for Double-A Hartford, although it doesn't look like he's going to be out long.

Adael Amador Dealing With Mild Oblique Strain
Colorado Rockies rookie infielder Adael Amador (oblique) is dealing with a mild oblique strain after being pulled early from Thursday's series finale against the visiting division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers. According to manager Bud Black, Amador suffered a similar injury in May while playing for Double-A Hartford. Before leaving the eventual 5-3 loss in the eighth inning, Amador went 1-for-3. The plan has been for the 21-year-old to head back down to the minors once Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) returns from the injured list, but Amador may be put on the IL himself before Rodgers is able to rejoin the major-league roster. The Rockies' top prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has looked overmatched at the plate in the early going, as he entered Thursday's contest 5-for-32 (.156) with no homers, one steal, one walk and six strikeouts in his first nine major-league games.

Brendan Rodgers To 10-Day IL, Team Recalls Top Prospect Adael Amador
Colorado Rockies second baseman Brendan Rodgers will be placed on the 10-day IL, per manager Bud Black, with a hamstring strain. In a corresponding move, the team will recall top prospect Adael Amador from AA. Amador will join the team in St. Louis and is expected to play second base in Rodger's absence. Amador is the team's top prospect and should be expected to receive regular playing time. The young second baseman is only hitting .194 but has seven home runs, 24 RBI, and 22 stolen bases in 170 plate appearances. There is no estimate on how much time Rodgers might miss.

Adael Amador Getting The Call To The Big Leagues
The Colorado Rockies are promoting infield prospect Adael Amador to the big leagues on Saturday. The 21-year-old is being summoned from Double-A Hartford without a Triple-A game under his belt. The No. 32-ranked prospect in baseball, as per MLB Pipeline, has had a solid, yet unspectacular year with the Yard Goats. Amador is hitting just .194 with seven homers across 46 games but also has swiped 22 bases and has walked at a hefty 15.8% clip, a figure well beyond his years considering the wealth of top pitching at the Double-A level. Amador doesn't appear to be in the club's starting lineup for Saturday's afternoon contest with the St. Louis Cardinals but dynasty league managers will surely be intrigued by his promotion as he likely gets into the lineup on a daily basis moving forward.

Adael Amador Rips Another Home Run, Steals Another Base
Colorado Rockies top prospect Adael Amador continued his recent run of hot hitting on Wednesday, going 2-for-5 with a walk for Double-A Hartford. One of his two hits was a three-run blast, which was the switch-hitter's fifth home run in his last seven games after clubbing just one over his first 37 games. The 21-year-old also stole a base for the fourth game in a row and now has 22 on the year. Despite going 12-for-30 (.400) over his last seven games, Amador's batting average is still .193 on the season. What has not been an issue all season is his patient eye at the plate, walking at a 16.6% rate (19.3% K%) and posting a .342 OBP. He's likely not going to see the majors this year, but with that kind of power-speed combo, he may soon earn a promotion to Triple-A if he can keep up this recent turnaround.
