Alfredo Duno Named Florida State League MVP

Cincinnati Reds catching prospect Alfredo Duno has been named the Single-A Florida State League (FSL) Most Valuable Player for 2025. The Reds' third-ranked prospect led the FSL in most statistical categories, including home runs (18), doubles (18), RBI (81), runs scored (78), walks (95), OBP (.430), and SLG (.518). The 19-year-old's 95 walks were more than his 91 strikeouts, showing an advanced approach for such a young player. The 6-foot-2 Venezuelan was not on MLB.com's preseason Top 100 list, nor was he there when the list was refreshed in May, but he finally cracked it in July, coming in at No. 93 overall. He's vaulted all the way to No. 70 now, and he could be much higher next year. The right-handed slugger is quickly becoming a stash candidate in dynasty leagues, and his progress from here on out should be monitored.

Alfredo Duno, Cam Collier to Play in Arizona Fall League

Cincinnati Reds catching prospect Alfredo Duno and corner infield prospect Cam Collier are two top 100 prospects for the Reds who will be participating in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) this year. The season kicks off on October 6, and these two, along with four other Reds prospects, will compete for the Peoria Javelinas. Duno, the Reds' third-ranked prospect, had a phenomenal year at Single-A, hitting .287 with 18 home runs and recording an elite .430 OBP because he was able to draw more walks (95) than strikeouts (91). Collier, the Reds' sixth-ranked prospect, had a down year compared to 2024 when he hit 20 home runs at High-A, as he hit just one home run in 71 games at Double-A while batting .252. The strikeout rate was high (27.6 percent), but he drew walks at a strong rate (15.0 percent). The 20-year-old former first-rounder missed the first couple of months of play due to a thumb injury suffered in spring training, so he can use the AFL to make up for lost time.

He currently sits as the team's fifth-ranked prospect and the overall 81st-ranked prospect in baseball on MLB.com. Given his strong second half, fantasy managers should expect Duno to open the 2026 season with High-A.

Alfredo Duno Riding 12-Game Hit Streak at Single-A

Cincinnati Reds catching prospect Alfredo Duno went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two RBI, and a run scored on Tuesday for Single-A Daytona. The performance extended his hit streak to 12 games, during which time he's gone 17-for-41 (.415) with six doubles, five home runs, 19 RBI, 13 runs scored, and a 10:6 BB:K. The Reds' third-ranked prospect seems ready for a tougher challenge, now with a .287/.427/.501 slash line in 104 games while walking (85) as much as he's striking out (85). The 19-year-old backstop has a ton of power and could start to rise quickly up the prospect ranks. Dynasty managers should be watching his performance over the remainder of this season and into next year.

Alfredo Duno Gets on Base Four Times on Wednesday

Cincinnati Reds catching prospect Alfredo Duno went 3-for-5 on Wednesday at Single-A Daytona, including a walk, two doubles, two RBI, and a run scored. The Reds' fifth-ranked prospect is 7-for-12 (.583) over his last four games, and is slashing .274/.415/.455 on the year with nine home runs and nearly as many walks (72) as strikeouts (78) in 89 games. The 19-year-old catapulted into MLB.com's Top 100 in their July refresh, currently sitting at 81st overall, and could continue to climb up the ranks. The young Venezuelan boasts strong exit velocities and an excellent approach that has helped him to a career .415 OBP through 166 minor league games. He should be squarely on dynasty managers' radar now and could be in the majors as early as 2027.
