Boston Red Sox outfield prospect Allan Castro earned Eastern League Player of the Week honors for June 30 - July 6 after going 12-for-24 (.500) with three doubles, a triple, a home run, six RBI, five runs scored, and a 3:4 BB:K in six games for the Sea Dogs. Boston's 21st-ranked prospect is hitting well this season, slashing .301/.381/.470 with six home runs and five steals through 46 games, all at Double-A Portland. The 22-year-old should get a shot at Triple-A pitching by season's end, and could be in the mix for an MLB debut sometime next season. The switch-hitting Dominican is not stashworthy in dynasty leagues, though.

Boston Red Sox outfield prospect Allan Castro broke out with three homers during a doubleheader for High-A Greenville on Thursday. Castro went 4-for-6 on the day and brought his season totals to 10 homers and 32 RBI with a .235 batting average. The Red Sox' No. 12 overall prospect is red-hot in July, hitting .355 with six homers and 10 RBI so far this month. The 21-year-old will likely need some time in the minors before earning a big-league shot a few years out.
