Cooper Ingle's Recent Skid Could Hinder Return to Majors

Cleveland Guardians catcher/outfield prospect Cooper Ingle has gone from one extreme to the other at the plate, and after hitting .425 (34-for-80) in the 19 games since being sent back to Triple-A, he's now batting .129 (4-for-31) over his last nine contests. That hasn't stopped the Guardians' third-ranked prospect from getting on base, though, as he's drawn a whopping 14 walks (.400 OBP) in that nine-game span. For the season, the former fourth-round draft pick is slashing .307/.433/.568 with 18 home runs in 79 games for the Clippers. The 24-year-old will likely have another opportunity to get back to the majors before the season is out, and with the contact, power, and keen eye he's shown at Triple-A this year, he could become fantasy-relevant, but without a clear path to playing time, there is little reason to stash him outside of very deep 14+ team and AL-only leagues.

Cooper Ingle Slowing Down at Triple-A in August

Cleveland Guardians catcher and outfield prospect Cooper Ingle is having a bit of a slow August in his return to Triple-A Columbus. He is hitting just 9-for-41 (.220) and has two homers to go with nine RBI in 11 games this month. Ingle saw some time with the Guardians, getting 21 at bats with the big-league club and failing to produce with only two hits and two RBI. Ingle had a productive July at Columbus to try to make the case for another shot in Cleveland but his momentum has slowed a bit. Ingle is the No. 5 prospect in the Guardians' system and has a 55-grade hit tool with just 45-grade power. The Guardians are playing Patrick Bailey and Austin Hedges at catcher right now so it's not looking like Ingle will get another shot at catcher. Right now it's best to leave Ingle on the waiver wire in redraft leagues.

Cooper Ingle Remains a Stash Candidate After Another Multi-Hit Game

Cleveland Guardians catcher/outfield prospect Cooper Ingle got back on the multi-hit game train on Wednesday, reaching base in all five plate appearances after a 2-for-2 effort that included a single, a double, three walks, and two runs scored. The Guardians' third-ranked prospect was 1-for-16 (.063) in his previous four games, but that was preceded by a phenomenal streak of eight consecutive games where he collected at least two hits in each game. The former fourth-rounder is batting .378 in the 24 games since returning to Columbus after a brief debut with the big-league club, which includes 10 doubles and six home runs. For the season at Triple-A, the Clemson product is slashing a robust .318/.435/.591 with 18 home runs and a superb 17.4 percent walk rate in 75 games with the Clippers. He'll likely get another shot in the majors in the coming weeks, and the 24-year-old offers enough contact and power to make for an intriguing stash option in deeper 14+ team leagues.

Cooper Ingle Producing Again At Triple-A Level

Cleveland Guardians catcher/outfield prospect Cooper Ingle is having a productive August so far at Triple-A Columbus after receiving a big-league opportunity earlier this season. In seven August games, Ingle has two homers and nine RBI with eight runs scored. The catcher/outfielder is heating up again at Triple-A and could force his way back to the majors before the end of this season. Ingle had 21 at-bats in Cleveland and had two RBI while hitting just .095 after recording just two big-league hits. However, Cleveland's No. 3 prospect with a 55-grade hit tool has 18 homers and 61 RBI at Triple-A this season with a .313 batting average, making a case for another ticket back to Cleveland. The Guardians fourth-round draft pick in 2023, Ingle has the versatility to play catcher or in the outfield and has been hitting enough to warrant another look on fantasy rosters.

Cooper Ingle Extends Multi-Hit Game Streak to Eight Straight

Cleveland Guardians catcher/outfield prospect Cooper Ingle has been on an absolute tear since returning to Triple-A Columbus, producing eight consecutive multi-hit efforts, and he has multiple hits in 14 of the 19 games since being sent back down in early July. During that time, he's hitting .425 with nine doubles and five home runs, registering an otherworldly 1.214 OPS over that span. For the season, the former fourth-round draft pick is slashing .328/.438/.605 with 17 home runs in 70 games for the Clippers, and though he went just 2-for-24 (.095) in his first stint with the Guardians, it may not be long before he gets another shot, especially with how hot his bat is. The Clemson product isn't a threat to steal, but has shown he can hit and has enough power to be interesting for fantasy. He's currently only eligible at C in Yahoo! leagues, but could soon become eligible at OF the next time he gets the call. The 24-year-old has certainly put himself on the stash radar again in deeper leagues with this most recent red-hot surge.

Cooper Ingle Remains Firmly on Stash Radar

Cleveland Guardians catching prospect Cooper Ingle was optioned back to Triple-A Columbus earlier in July after his brief MLB debut. While this demotion greatly impacted his short-term fantasy value, since returning to the top club in the minor leagues, the backstop has looked very productive, suggesting he should see another stint in the coming weeks. Over his last 15 games since returning to Triple-A, Ingle has posted a dominant .413/.472/.714 line with an eye-catching 1.187 OPS. During this noted stretch, Ingle has launched four home runs and tacked on seven doubles. Three of these home runs have come over his last four games. In the majors, Ingle appeared in just seven contests and held a low .095 average. Given Cleveland's lack of production behind the plate this season, Ingle may not have to wait long for another look.

Cooper Ingle Stays Hot With Triple-A Columbus Following Recent Demotion

Cleveland Guardians catcher prospect Cooper Ingle has continued to hit despite being sent down to Triple-A Columbus after a big-league stint with Cleveland. In three games back at Columbus, Ingle has five hits, including a homer and two RBI. This year with Columbus, Ingle has been extremely productive with 13 homers and 43 RBI and a .291 batting average and a .985 OPS. The No. 3 prospect for the Guardians, Ingle has proven himself at the Triple-A level, it seems, but did little offensively in his brief major league cameo. Ingle had just two hits in his 21 at-bats at the big league level. It's a good sign, however, that he picked up right where he left off at Columbus, and he could get another look at Cleveland this season. Thus, he might be worth a speculative add, as many fantasy managers may have dismissed him after his poor stretch with the Guardians.

Cooper Ingle Remains a High-Upside Waiver-Wire Target Despite Slow Start

Cleveland Guardians catcher/outfielder Cooper Ingle has gotten off to a slow start since making his MLB debut on June 26, logging just two hits in his first 24 big league plate appearances. However, Ingle is one of the highest-rated prospects in the Guardians system and was having an excellent year at Triple-A before his promotion, hitting .284/.416/.551 with 12 home runs, 41 RBI, 33 runs scored, and one stolen base across 221 plate appearances. Cleveland has deployed Ingle exclusively in either left field or at designated hitter since calling him up, which gives him more playing time upside than a typical fantasy catcher. The 24-year-old also demonstrated elite plate skills during his time in the minors, posting more walks (86) than strikeouts (85) across 510 plate appearances in 2025. Despite his early struggles, Ingle remains a priority waiver wire candidate for fantasy managers in search of power upside.

Cooper Ingle a Prospect to Add Despite Slow Start?

Cleveland Guardians catching prospect Cooper Ingle, who is ranked as the team's No. 3 prospect by MLB Pipeline, was recalled from Triple-A Columbus last week after he hit .284 (50-for-176) with 12 homers, 41 RBI, and 33 runs scored in 51 games in the minors. The 5-foot-8, 190-pound left-handed-hitting backstop has the power upside and plate discipline to become Cleveland's catcher of the future after he was selected in the fourth round in 2023 out of Clemson University. Fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues should be stashing him, but should managers in redraft leagues be doing the same? The 24-year-old North Carolina native has been slow to adjust to big-league pitching so far in his first four games, going 1-for-11 at the plate with two RBI, a run scored, three walks, and seven strikeouts, and he also had a brain fart in the outfield on Tuesday and forgot how many outs there were. That's not going to help his cause for more playing time with manager Stephen Vogt. Still, Ingle has the kind of offensive upside you don't find often in catchers, making him at least a watch-list candidate in deeper single-year leagues going into the second half of the season if he remains with the Guards. Ingle is rostered in just 2% of Yahoo leagues.

Cooper Ingle Batting Fifth in MLB Debut, a Must-Add Ahead of Friday's Contest?

Cleveland Guardians catching prospect Cooper Ingle has been called up from Triple-A Columbus and will serve as the designated hitter while batting fifth in his major-league debut in Friday's series opener against the visiting Seattle Mariners and veteran right-hander Luis Castillo, according to Zack Meisel of The Athletic. The 24-year-old left-handed-hitting backstop is considered the Guards' No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and he gets the call after hitting .284/.416/.551 with a .967 OPS, 12 home runs, 41 RBI, 33 runs scored, and a stolen base in 51 games at Columbus this year. The former fourth-rounder in 2023 out of Clemson University could also receive playing time in the outfield in Cleveland and is certainly worth a look for fantasy managers desperate for help at the catcher position. Ingle has recently started developing more power at the plate, and he's an intriguing upcoming offensive player due to his excellent discipline at the dish. He's only rostered in 2% of Yahoo leagues right now.
