Blake Perkins Cleared For Light Baseball Activities
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Blake Perkins (lower leg) was cleared for light baseball activities on Saturday. The 28-year-old suffered a fractured right shin earlier in camp. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he slowly begins to increase his workload. However, he is not expected to be available during the start of the regular season. Last summer, Perkins held a .240/.316/.332 slash line across a career-high 1212 contests. He went deep four times and added 13 doubles. He held a 42:108 BB:K and swiped 23 bags which were the 17th-most in the National League. While he is sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Manuel Margot to have an increase in playing time during the opening month of the campaign.

Perkins was expected to make the Opening Day roster as a depth infielder but now may open the campaign on the injured list. As a result, Manuel Margot, who the team signed on Friday, could have a viable path to open as the No. 2 center fielder behind Garrett Mitchell.
The Milwaukee Brewers reinstated outfielder Blake Perkins (calf) from the 10-day injured list on Thursday and optioned infield prospect Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Perkins is back in the big leagues but will not start in Thursday's contest against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. Because the 27-year-old required only 10 days on the IL, he didn't go on a minor-league rehab assignment for his strained right calf. Perkins has a low fantasy ceiling while on the short side of an outfield platoon for the Brew Crew. The former second-round selection of the Washington Nationals in 2015 was hitting .257/.330/.363 with a .693 OPS, six home runs, 34 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 90 games at the time of his injury in just his second year in the big leagues. Most of Perkins' fantasy appeal in deeper leagues comes from his speed.
