Daniel Schneemann Muscles Guardians Past Giants

Cleveland Guardians second baseman Daniel Schneemann went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in his team's 4-2 road win over the San Francisco Giants. He also singled to pick up his second multi-hit effort in his last three starts. Schneemann helped extend his team's lead to 4-0 with a 394-foot blast that scored teammates Carlos Santana and Lane Thomas. It was homer No. 8 for the San Diego native, who has already eclipsed the long ball total he accrued last season (five) in 36 fewer at-bats. He's been decent against right-handed pitching thus far (.252) and should continue serving on the strong side of the platoon at the keystone.

Daniel Schneemann Hits Seventh Home Run, Growing His Role with Guardians

Cleveland Guardians infielder Daniel Schneemann blasted his seventh home run of the season in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The three-run shot brought his team within one run before the Dodgers eventually pulled away. Schneemann finished 1-for-2 on the night and was replaced by Will Wilson in the bottom of the seventh inning. The 28-year-old is now slashing .250/.331/.474 in his first full season as a pro, registering a solid .805 OPS and .352 wOBA. He will look to continue his solid production as he settles into his everyday role, and the Guardians aim to stay afloat in the AL Central.

Daniel Schneemann Homers, Draws Three Walks

Cleveland Guardians shortstop Daniel Schneemann homered and drew three walks against the Royals in a 6-2 win. He earned the start at second base, with Gabriel Arias shifting to third to cover for injured star Jose Ramirez. His wrist injury isn't expected to require a trip to the injured list, and the infield playing time situation is unclear once he returns. Schneemann's best-case scenario is being the strong side of a platoon at second, but it's also possible that he will serve as a utility bat off the bench. He isn't worth adding in fantasy yet, but he could be useful down the line if he carves out some platoon time.

Daniel Schneemann Making First Career Postseason Start

Cleveland Guardians rookie outfielder Daniel Schneemann will make the start in right field and will hit sixth against New York Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Thursday at Progressive Field as the Guardians look to climb out of 2-0 hole in the series. The Guardians will try Schneeman over both Will Brennan and Jhonkensy Noel with a right-hander on the mound to try and jump-start their offense. The 27-year-old Schneeman struck out in his only postseason at-bat in Game 1 of the ALCS earlier this week. In 193 at-bats in his first big-league season, he slashed .218/.303/.368 with a below-average .671 OPS, five home runs, 22 RBI and 17 runs scored in 73 games played. He won't be a popular option in DFS formats for Thursday's slate.

Daniel Schneemann Batting Cleanup Thursday

Cleveland Guardians third baseman Daniel Schneemann will bat fourth in Thursday's series finale versus the Tigers. Schneemann is hitting just .200 in July (4-for-20), but all four of his July hits have gone for extra bases, including a homer in Wednesday's 5-4 victory over the Tigers. Since his call-up in June, he is slashing .247/.348/.506 with one stolen base. The BYU product has a strong 14.1% BB%, so when he's not getting extra-base hits, the left-handed hitter is getting on base via the walk and could make for a sneaky-good value play for DFS today while batting in the middle of the Cleveland lineup.
