Nathaniel Lowe News
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe had another nice game at the plate in Monday's 4-3 win over the Mets. Lowe went 2-for-4 with two singles, two RBI, a walk, and a strikeout. The 28-year-old has quietly put together a productive offensive season, slashing .282/.372/.448 with 15 home runs and 70 RBI. He should continue to consistently help fantasy managers down the stretch hitting in the middle of one of baseball's better offenses.
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe went 4-for-4 at the plate. His Friday night included a home run, a double, and crossing the plate for four runs in the contest. The game marked his fourth career four-hit game and the first time he's scored four runs. Surprisingly, this was his sole RBI in the past eight games as the Ranger's No. 3 hitter behind Marcus Semien and Corey Seager. So far, he's posted a .278 batting with 10 home runs and 46 RBI.
Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe went 0-for-3 with a walk in a 7-2 loss to the Washington Nationals on Sunday. The Rangers' offense couldn't do much against Patrick Corbin in this one. Yes, you read that correctly. They managed just one run in the sixth and one in the eighth as they dropped the three-game series to the Nationals. Lowe reached once via a walk and finished the first half of the season on a bit of a cold streak. He's slashing just .200/.250/.300 with no home runs or RBI over the last seven games (30 at-bats). He still put together a great first half, along with most of the Texas Rangers. He'll carry a .270/.360/.421 batting line to go along with nine home runs and 45 RBI over 356 at-bats into the second half. While he's looking pretty light in the home runs department, he should still continue to see plenty of RBI opportunities while hitting in the middle of the potent Rangers lineup.

The Texas first-baseman officially broke out in 2022, slashing .302/.358/.492 with 27 homers, 74 runs, and 76 RBI. He did most of that damage after July 1st, as he hit 17 homers on a .320/.381/.533 slash line after the calendar flipped to the hot months. The good news is that he's a very mature hitter with a low 22.9% strikeout rate and a 75% contact rate. That turns into a lot of balls in play for him, which is always a good sign. The downside is that 9.9% barrel rate is short of great levels and he continued to hit a lot of balls on the ground (48% GB%). That ground-ball rate did come way down from his 2021 mark of 54.5% - so that's very good news. He will have to keep that GB% near 45% to flirt with 30 homers again, so the smart money might be on the under in terms of his homer heights next season. He also is not a guy that's going to steal many bases, which is a big downside in roto leagues. The reason to draft Lowe at his ADP of 100 is the relative safety you get from him. There will be plenty of RBI opportunities for him in that Rangers lineup this year, and his plate discipline skills raise his floor considerably. Lowe is a fine but unsexy 1B pick at a bit of an inflated price for 2023.
