White Sox Promote Prospect David Sandlin After Stellar Showing at Triple-A

The Chicago White Sox are promoting right-handed pitching prospect David Sandlin to the major-league roster, according to Elijah Evans of Just Baseball Media. Sandlin is currently ranked as the team's No. 18 prospect on MLB.com. However, despite his lower prospect pedigree, the right-hander has been near-perfect at Triple-A this season and carries some sneaky intrigue ahead of his MLB debut. The right-hander has made only four starts with the top club this season as he has battled an elbow injury. However, over these 12 frames, Sandlin has been incredible, posting a 0.75 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP. He has struck out 17 hitters while walking only six. While the team has yet to determine Sandlin's role, he could quickly find a job in their starting rotation since they lack many proven options. For now, he's worth picking up as a speculative add in deep leagues.

White Sox to Acquire Jordan Hicks, David Sandlin From Red Sox

The Chicago White Sox are set to acquire right-handed pitcher Jordan Hicks and right-handed pitching prospect David Sandlin from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for right-handed pitching prospect Gage Ziehl, per Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com. Cotillo characterizes the trade as a "salary move" for Boston, as the White Sox are reportedly absorbing the majority of the money still owed to Hicks. Boston acquired Hicks from the San Francisco Giants as part of the return for infielder Rafael Devers in the middle of the 2025 season. Hicks has worked as both a starter and a reliever in his career to this point, so he gives Chicago some innings-eating versatility. However, the 29-year-old struggled across 67 1/3 innings split between Boston and San Francisco in 2025, posting a 6.95 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 58 strikeouts. Sandlin is a 24-year-old pitching prospect who split the 2025 season between Boston's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. Across 106 innings pitched (32 games) in the Minors last year, he posted a 9-6 record with a 4.50 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 107 strikeouts. Sandlin has experience as both a starter and a reliever in his pro career, so he profiles as a versatile depth piece for Chicago.

David Sandlin Punches out Nine Across Six No-Hit Frames

Boston Red Sox right-handed pitching prospect David Sandlin tossed six no-hit frames en route to picking up the victory over Double-A Akron on Sunday. In this outing, Sandlin struck out nine batters, which matched a season-high. He also served up three walks in this game. Sandlin allowed a season-worst five runs in his previous game, so it was a great sign to see him return to form in his next outing. Through 60 innings with Double-A Portland, the 24-year-old has been productive, posting a 3.90 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP. During this stretch, the No. 8-ranked prospect in the system has struck out 62 batters and posted a 3.90 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP. Fantasy managers should expect David Sandlin to be in the mix to reach Triple-A during the second half.

David Sandlin Tosses Season-High Seven Innings

Boston Red Sox right-handed pitching prospect David Sandlin tossed seven shutout innings on Thursday against Double-A Altoona. This was the first time this season Sandlin logged seven innings of work in a single outing. In this start, the right-hander allowed just three hits and one walk. He struck out eight. This was also his second-straight outing in which he did not allow an earned run. Through 43 innings of work this season at Double-A Portland, Sandlin has posted a 3.77 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP. He has struck out 45 batters and allowed 12 walks. Last season, the No. 8-ranked prospect in the system posted a high 5.61 ERA with a 1.44 WHIP across his first 25 2/3 innings at the Double-A level. If Sandlin continues to find his footing, he should be in the mix to earn the call to Triple-A in the coming months.

David Sandlin Impresses In High-A Outing

Boston Red Sox pitching prospect David Sandlin had an evening to remember on Wednesday for High-A Greenville. The right-hander tossed four innings and allowed three hits, two runs, no walks and struck out seven batters. All seven strikeouts came consecutively and tie a career-high in K's in a game for the club's No. 14 prospect per MLB Pipeline. Sandlin has been having a solid season for Greenville with a 4.60 ERA in 29 1/3 innings to go along with 46 strikeouts and a respectable 1.16 WHIP. Sandlin's biggest flaw in his young career has been consistency, but that is something that can surely be worked on in the early stages of his career. For now, he can be ignored, but it wouldn't hurt dynasty managers to keep tabs on him as he rises through the Red Sox system.
