Denzel Clarke Homers In Three-Hit Day

Athletics outfield prospect Denzel Clarke went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored on Monday for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League (AFL). The home run was his second of the fall campaign and he now has his batting average up to .388, good for fourth-highest in the circuit. The 24-year-old has shown off his speed as well, hitting three triples and stealing seven bases in 17 games. Clarke is the Athletics' 10th-ranked prospect according to MLB.com's Top Prospects list. The former fourth-round draft pick is coming off a strong season at Double-A, putting together a .269-13-53-74-36 line in 116 games. A weakness is his strikeout rate, finishing at 29.9% in 2024, but he's shown more patience in the AFL, with a 13:19 BB:K that has buoyed his second-best .506 OBP. He may start next season at Triple-A, but look for him to debut in 2025 should he continue to hit.

Oakland's No. 3 prospect (per MLB.com), he could potentially make his MLB debut this season.

Denzel Clarke Swipes Three Bags On Wednesday

Oakland Athletics outfield prospect Denzel Clarke went 1-for-4 with a season-high three stolen bases on Wednesday evening. His single extended his current hitting streak to eight games. His three swiped bags increased his total to 12. Overall, through 67 games through his second look at Double-A ball, the 24 -year-old has posted a .253/.305/.466 line with 11 home runs. Last summer, in a similar 64-game sample size, he held an almost identical .261/.381/.496 line. Since making his Single-A debut in 2022, Clarke has progressed through the minor league system fairly quickly and could join the top level of the minors later this summer if he continues this steady play.

Denzel Clarke Hits For The Cycle On Thursday

Oakland Athletics outfield prospect Denzel Clarke went 4-for-6 with a single, double, triple, and a round-tripper to complete the cycle. This performance extended his current hitting streak to four games. In this span, he has launched two home runs, two doubles, a triple, and four RBI. Prior to this stretch, Clarke tallied just two hits in five games. Overall, through his second season at Double-A Midland, the former fourth-round selection has posted a .243/.292/.455 line with 10 home runs and 36 RBI in 63 RBI. Last season, in a similar 64-game sample size, the 24-year-old held a .261/.381/.496 line with 12 home runs and 33 RBI. Denzel Clarke Hits Two Homers In Double-A

Oakland Athletics outfield prospect Denzel Clarke had a day to remember for Double-A Midland on Sunday. Clarke went 3-for-3 on the day with a single and pair of solo homers to help lead to the RockHounds 40th victory of the season. Clarke, 24, has now hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games after a slow start to the season. For the season, the Canadian is now hitting .237 with eight homers, 28 RBI and eight stolen bases in 54 games. Per MLB Pipeline, Clarke is the Athletics No. 3 prospect and offers plenty of athleticism and has extreme power when he makes contact, but still needs to work on his attack of the plate. Given the A's are in a full rebuild, Clarke could get a chance with the club this season. He remains best served in dynasty leagues moving forward, but like most prospects, he would be worth a look in redraft leagues given his name is eventually called.

Denzel Clarke Beginning To Find Footing At Double-A

Oakland Athletics outfield prospect Denzel Clarke has begun to find his footing at Double-A after struggling through the early part of the season. He held a poor.169 AVG in April and .219 AVG through May. However, in his past 10 games, the 24-year-old has posted a .273 AVG with a .485 SLG. In this stretch he has launched two home runs, swiped two bags, and tallied five RBI. Clarke performed well in Double-A last season with a .261/.381/.496 line with 12 long balls before shifting to the 60-day injured list with a shoulder strain that ultimately ended his season. Clarke is ranked as the number three prospect in the Oakland system on MLB Pipeline and is projected to reach the major leagues later this summer. This could happen if Clarke continues to stay hot in the batter's box and is worth adding in deeper leagues if he reaches Triple-A.

Denzel Clarke Shines In Double-A

Oakland Athletics outfield prospect Denzel Clarke returned from the injured list this past week and wasted no time putting on a show in Double-A. He is known for his ability to make loud contact while hitting the ball to all parts of the field, though he has a tendency to strike out when trying to demonstrate his power. Defensively, Clarke has a strong arm and great speed, making him a long-term center- or right-fielder who should steal plenty of bases. This past week, Clarke went 8-for-16 with a whopping four homers, nine RBI, nine runs, and one stolen base. He tallied three walks and five strikeouts along the way. The 23-year-old's wheels and pop could make him an appealing fantasy option as early as 2024.
