Emmanuel Rodriguez Begins Rehab Assignment

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (oblique) began a rehab assignment at Single-A Fort Myers on Wednesday. The Twins' fourth-ranked prospect has been out since suffering the injury back on July 12. It is the second time this season that the 22-year-old has had to complete a rehab assignment, having been limited to 43 games at Triple-A this year. In those 43 games, the left-handed slugger has recorded a .254/.411/.428 slash line with five home runs and seven steals. His elevated 33.1 percent strikeout rate is concerning, but he also has a knack for drawing a ton of walks, registering a 19.4 percent walk rate this season. It might be too late to make a push for a major league debut this year, but the Dominican should be in the mix for a promotion next year, although a lengthy injury history could dampen his fantasy outlook.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Dealing with Side Injury

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (side) was removed from Saturday's contest against Triple-A Iowa due to a side injury. He is currently being evaluated by the team, but has not yet provided any further details. Rodriguez was recently sidelined for nearly a month due to a right hip injury and could face another extended absence. Since returning to Triple-A following the hip injury, Rodriguez went 6-for-13 with a double, a home run, and seven RBI across four contests. Overall, the No. 2-ranked prospect in Minnesota has enjoyed a productive campaign with Triple-A St. Paul, holding a .254/.41/.428 line with seven doubles, five home runs, and seven stolen bases. If the 22-year-old can continue to perform with St. Paul, he could be in contention to join the major leagues later in the second half.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Goes Deep Tuesday

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in an 11-5 win against Triple-A Iowa. Rodriguez has caught fire at the plate in July, slashing .529/.636/.765 with a 5:5 BB:K in 22 plate appearances. The 22-year-old has maintained his incredibly patient approach with a walk rate over 20 percent for the season, along with chipping in five homers and six stolen bases. The contact quality has also been there, with a 44 percent hard-hit rate and a 12 percent barrel rate to go with a 113.6 MPH MaxEV. The downside is that he also strikes out a lot at 34 percent. It's a unique profile that we could soon see at the big level sometime later this season. He'd be an interesting upside add in deeper leagues.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Progresses Rehab to Single-A

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (hip) has progressed his rehab from the Complex League to Single-A Fort Myers. The Twins' second-ranked prospect injured his hip and has been out of action since May 30. He's gone 6-for-20 (.300) with a pair of doubles and a 3:7 BB:K in six rehab games (one at Single-A), and was slashing .232/.400/.392 in 39 games at Triple-A prior to the injury. Known for his big-time power and an elite ability to draw walks, the 22-year-old still has time to get back on track and push for a major league debut this season. However, with his big power comes a lot of swing-and-miss, which would likely not get better in the majors, so fantasy managers should take a cautious approach with him once he gets the call.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Begins Rehab Assignment

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (hip) began a rehab assignment with the team's Florida Complex League affiliate on Saturday. The left-handed slugger went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI single, and a run scored in the contest, which was his first game action since May 30. The Twins' second-ranked prospect had been on the injured list with a hip injury, which is one of a multitude of injuries that have afflicted him and caused him to miss significant chunks of time over the last few seasons. The 22-year-old has 60-grade power and owns an elite 21.7 percent walk rate over the course of his minor league career, however, he's a .248 hitter with a 30.5 percent strikeout rate as well. If he can remain healthy and make some modest improvements on offense, there's still a chance the 5-foot-11 Dominican could still get the call to the big leagues later this year, although he's not a stash candidate at this time.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Hits the 7-Day Minor League IL with Hip Injury

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez was placed on the 7-day minor league injured list on Monday with a right hip injury. The Twins' second-ranked prospect is heading full-speed into "injury prone" status, missing parts of the last few seasons with various ailments. Last year, the left-handed slugger played in only 47 games due to multiple hand-related injuries. The Dominican offers big-time power and draws a ton of walks (21.7 percent career BB%), but was 3-for-17 (.176) over his last eight games (8:7 BB:K) before the hip injury and has an atrocious 35.0 percent strikeout rate through 39 games at Triple-A this season. However, if this is a minimal stint on the IL and he can get on a roll when he returns, the 22-year-old could still be in line for a major league debut later this year.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Logs Three Extra-Base Hits In Thursday's Doubleheader

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez went 3-for-7 with two doubles, a triple, an RBI, and a run scored in Thursday's doubleheader against Triple-A Iowa. The 22-year-old has gotten off to a relatively slow start, slashing .242/.385/.384. Rodriguez cruised through multiple levels of the Twins' minor league system last season with a monster line of .280/.459/.567 with a 181 wRC+. The strikeout rate has been an issue for the top prospect as it has ballooned to 35.7% so far this season. However, he has begun to heat up a bit in May with a 1.020 OPS in 34 AB. He could make his debut at some point later in the season and presents an intriguing power and speed profile, although expectations should be tempered with his struggles making contact. Rodriguez is currently ranked as the number 32 overall prospect on MLB.com.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Has Quiet Start To 2025

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez has had an inconsistent start to the 2025 campaign, logging five multi-hit performances and eight hitless efforts over his first 17 games, resulting in an uninspiring .231 AVG with no home runs and a 34.6 percent strikeout rate. A bright spot has been the Dominican's ability to draw walks, logging 13 of them thus far (16.7 percent). The Twins' second-ranked prospect (MLB No. 34) is expected to make his major league debut this season, but has played just 24 games at Triple-A, without much success. If the left-handed slugger can get on a roll, look for a call-up around midseason, especially with Minnesota's offense sputtering and in need of a boost.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Shines In Triple-A Season Opener

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI during their victory over Indianapolis on Friday evening. In the opening frame, Rodriguez would tally his first hit of the evening, which was a single. In the third, Rodriguez would tally a two-run double, which scored Ryan Fitzgerald and Austin Martin. Later in the sixth, he would reach first via a walk and cap off his evening with another single in the seventh. The 22-year-old is considered the No. 2 prospect in the system on MLB.com, only behind budding superstar Walker Jenkins. Last summer, Rodriguez spent most of his time at Double-A and only received a brief look at Triple-A. If he continues to produce at Triple-A, the 22-year-old should be in the mix for an MLB debut in the second half of the season.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Sent To Minor-League Camp

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (ankle) was assigned to minor-league camp on Sunday. The 22-year-old has been dealing with an ankle sprain and will begin his 2025 season in the minor leagues. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he was able to take live batting practice earlier in the week. If he does face any setbacks, he should be cleared to play at the start of the Triple-A regular season. Last season, the 22-year-old appeared in just 47 games but made a significant impact. In 37 games at Double-A, Rodriguez held a .298/.479/.621 slash line with 12 doubles and eight home runs. During his brief seven-game taste of Triple-A, Rodriguez tallied six hits. If he can take the next step in his development at Triple-A, he should push for a late 2025 MLB debut.
