Emmanuel Rodriguez Needs Surgery for UCL Tear in his Thumb

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (thumb), who is currently on the seven-day injured list at Triple-A St. Paul, needs surgery after an MRI exam showed a UCL tear in his left thumb, according to Dan Hayes of The Athletic. It's a tough break for the 23-year-old, who is considered the team's No. 4 prospect per MLB Pipeline. Rodriguez was hitting .247 (20-for-81) for the Saints with six home runs, 18 RBI, 15 runs scored, and three stolen bases in 25 games across 108 plate appearances at the time of his injury. Thumb injuries have been a problem for him, as he had surgery for a right-thumb injury in 2024 and also missed some time last year with a left-thumb ailment. The Dominican outfielder is quickly losing steam in dynasty/keeper leagues as a stash candidate due to durability concerns. Rodriguez has yet to play in 100 games down on the farm in a single season since he became a professional in 2021. His most recent thumb injury could very well cost him the rest of the 2026 season.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Worth Stashing Amid Injured List Stint?

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (thumb) hasn't played in a game since May 1 after suffering a muscle strain in his thumb, but could be back on the field in the coming weeks. Before hitting the injured list at Triple-A St. Paul, the Twins' fourth-ranked prospect was showing well, hitting .247 with six home runs and producing a superb .417 on-base percentage thanks to an elite 21.3 percent walk rate (28.7 percent strikeout rate). The left-handed slugger has displayed an elite eye at the plate for the entirety of his minor league career, and had a 16-home run campaign in just 99 games back in 2023, but staying healthy has been an issue for him, playing a total of 65 games in 2025 and 47 in 2024. With Matt Wallner recently demoted to Triple-A, there could be a path to playing time once Rodriguez returns to action, and with his solid combination of power, speed, and plate discipline, the 23-year-old is a worthy stash candidate in deeper leagues.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Emerging as Top Outfield Prospect to Stash

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez continues to climb the stash rankings and enters Week 6 as one of the top outfield prospects to stash in fantasy. Entering the regular season, Rodriguez was considered the team's No. 4 prospect and the overall No. 64 prospect in the sport, per MLB.com. Last summer, Rodriguez dealt with injuries but spent most of his time with Triple-A St. Paul. Over these 52 games, Rodriguez held a .258/.429/.423 line with an .852 OPS. This season, Rodriguez has spent the early going with St. Paul, and he has continued to hold his own, posting a .241/.417/.506 line with a strong .923 OPS. He has gone deep six times while swiping three bags. Given his high-end power upside and clear path to opportunities in Minnesota, Rodriguez is worth stashing in all 12-team, five-outfielder leagues that have "N/A" spots.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Quickly Approaching MLB Promotion?

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez has continued to heat up at Triple-A and is emerging as a sneaky stash candidate in deep formats. Through 22 games at Triple-A, Rodriguez has posted a .253/.412/.533 slash line with a .945 OPS. During this stint, Rodriguez has gone deep six times, tallied three doubles, and swiped three bags. However, over his last 11 contests, Rodriguez has raised his OPS to .994 and held a much-improved 16:14 K:BB. Last summer, Rodriguez made his Triple-A debut and held a solid .258/.429/.423 line with an .852 OPS. Seeing the No. 66-ranked prospect in the sport show steady progression at Triple-A is an excellent sign and suggests he is nearing his MLB debut. If he continues this pace, Rodriguez could debut before the end of the first half. His high-end power makes him a top prospect to stash among outfielders.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Worth a Deep-League Stash?

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez had a nice showing with the big league club this spring, going 8-for-19 (.421) with two doubles and a pair of home runs in Grapefruit League action. The Twins' fourth-ranked prospect is 5-for-21 (.238) with a home run to begin his 2026 Triple-A campaign, and has displayed tantalizing power and an aptitude to steal bases during his time in the minors, however, he's also become somewhat injury-prone. The Dominican was limited to 47 games in 2022 due to a knee injury, 47 games in 2024 due to a thumb injury, and just 65 games last year due to ankle and hip injuries. Even so, if the left-handed slugger can remain healthy, his debut in the majors may not be far off. With his skillset, fantasy managers in deep redraft leagues should monitor his progress this year, as he could become a top stash candidate before midseason.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Optioned to Minor-League Camp

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez was unable to crack the Opening Day roster and was optioned to minor-league camp earlier on Monday. Rodriguez is considered the team's No. 4-ranked prospect and the overall No. 74-ranked prospect in the sport on MLB.com. Given that he spent most of his 2025 season at Triple-A, he was under consideration to begin the 2026 season in the major leagues. Despite going 8-for-19 with two doubles and two home runs, the Twins will send their budding star to continue his development at St. Paul to begin the 2026 campaign. Last season, Rodriguez appeared in 52 of his 62 MiLB games at St. Paul and posted a .258/.429/.423 line with six home runs and nine stolen bases. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status early in the season as he could contend for a first-half MLB debut.

Emmanuel Rodriguez to Break Camp with MLB Roster?

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez is a name to closely monitor during spring training as he could crack the Opening Day roster. According to MLB.com, Rodriguez is viewed as the No. 69 overall-ranked prospect in the sport and the No. 4-ranked in the Minnesota system. Rodriguez has battled numerous injuries during his minor league career, but has flashed immense upside when on the field. Last summer, the 22-year-old appeared in only 65 games in the minor leagues. He spent most of the year with Triple-A St. Paul (52 games), where he held a .258/.429/.423 line with seven doubles, six home runs, and nine stolen bases. While Byron Buxton is slated to cover center field, the corner outfield positions could be open for Rodriguez to claim. Managers in deeper five-outfielder leagues should keep a close eye on Rodriguez during spring training.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Begins Rehab Assignment

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (oblique) began a rehab assignment at Single-A Fort Myers on Wednesday. The Twins' fourth-ranked prospect has been out since suffering the injury back on July 12. It is the second time this season that the 22-year-old has had to complete a rehab assignment, having been limited to 43 games at Triple-A this year. In those 43 games, the left-handed slugger has recorded a .254/.411/.428 slash line with five home runs and seven steals. His elevated 33.1 percent strikeout rate is concerning, but he also has a knack for drawing a ton of walks, registering a 19.4 percent walk rate this season. It might be too late to make a push for a major league debut this year, but the Dominican should be in the mix for a promotion next year, although a lengthy injury history could dampen his fantasy outlook.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Dealing with Side Injury

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (side) was removed from Saturday's contest against Triple-A Iowa due to a side injury. He is currently being evaluated by the team, but has not yet provided any further details. Rodriguez was recently sidelined for nearly a month due to a right hip injury and could face another extended absence. Since returning to Triple-A following the hip injury, Rodriguez went 6-for-13 with a double, a home run, and seven RBI across four contests. Overall, the No. 2-ranked prospect in Minnesota has enjoyed a productive campaign with Triple-A St. Paul, holding a .254/.41/.428 line with seven doubles, five home runs, and seven stolen bases. If the 22-year-old can continue to perform with St. Paul, he could be in contention to join the major leagues later in the second half.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Goes Deep Tuesday

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in an 11-5 win against Triple-A Iowa. Rodriguez has caught fire at the plate in July, slashing .529/.636/.765 with a 5:5 BB:K in 22 plate appearances. The 22-year-old has maintained his incredibly patient approach with a walk rate over 20 percent for the season, along with chipping in five homers and six stolen bases. The contact quality has also been there, with a 44 percent hard-hit rate and a 12 percent barrel rate to go with a 113.6 MPH MaxEV. The downside is that he also strikes out a lot at 34 percent. It's a unique profile that we could soon see at the big level sometime later this season. He'd be an interesting upside add in deeper leagues.
