Jeferson Quero Has a Locker in Brewers Clubhouse

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero reportedly has a locker in the Brewers clubhouse. No official call-up has been announced, although it was confirmed that he is joining the taxi squad. Regular catcher William Contreras suffered a hand bruise on Saturday and was out of the lineup on Sunday. Contreras said he wanted to play on Sunday, but the team held him out and he is considered day-to-day. If Quero were to be called up, it would be his major league debut. The Brewers' fourth-ranked prospect dealt with shoulder and hamstring injuries this season, and was limited to just 58 games at Triple-A this year, where he slashed .255/.336/.412 with six home runs and a solid 10.0 percent walk rate. The 22-year-old is running out of time to help fantasy managers in 2025, but he could be a factor next season and is a solid dynasty stash at the catcher position.

Jeferson Quero Goes Deep on Tuesday

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero went 2-for-3 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Durham on Tuesday evening. This was Quero's first long ball since returning from the injured list on August 7. Since returning, the backstop has hit safely in all but one contest and held a 3:3 K:BB over this stretch. Before his injury, Quero held a .259/.333/.362 line with six doubles and just two home runs over his first 30 games of the Triple-A regular season. He missed part of the first half due to injury as well, but appears to be fully healthy. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as the 22-year-old could be in the mix to join the Brewers for the stretch run. For now, the No. 65-ranked prospect in the sport on MLB.com should be left on the waiver wire. However, if he were to continue to hit for power, he would enter stash consideration.

Jeferson Quero Activated from Injured List

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero (shoulder) was activated from the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. The Brewers' fourth-ranked prospect was dealing with a shoulder sprain and hasn't played since July 23. The 22-year-old got a late start to the season recovering from injuries to his shoulder and hamstring, so he has logged just 30 games for the Sounds so far this year. The Venezuelan backstop slashed .259/.333/.362 with a pair of home runs and an 11:15 BB:K in those 30 contests, and will hopefully put the injury issues behind him for the remainder of the year. He had a good chance to make a major league debut this season, but is less likely now after so much time missed. With William Contreras locked in at catcher, there's no need to rush him up, but Quero should debut next season and bring some decent pop along with him, although his stellar defense could be a big reason behind his eventual promotion.

Jeferson Quero Dealing With Arm Injury

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero (arm) was pulled from Wednesday night's game with Triple-A Nashville after feeling something with his left arm when reaching for a swipe tag, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. It's good news that it's to Quero's non-throwing arm, but we'll have a better idea on a timeline for his return after the team checks him out on Thursday. The 22-year-old is no stranger to injuries after missing most of last year with a right-shoulder injury that required surgery. The Venezuelan backstop and Brewers' No. 5 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has hit .259/.333/.362 with two home runs, 18 RBI, 15 runs scored and two stolen bases in 30 games for the Sounds in 2025. Another serious injury to his left arm would almost certainly mean that he won't be a candidate to make his MLB debut later this season.

Jeferson Quero Tallies Three Hits, Drives in Two on Tuesday

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero had a productive day at the plate on Tuesday for Triple-A Nashville, going 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored for the Sounds. It marked the fourth multi-hit effort in his last six games, and he's hitting .324 (12-for-37) since being reinstated from the injured list on June 3. The Brewers' second-ranked prospect (MLB No. 37) hit 16 home runs in his last full season of 2023, and even though he hit five home runs in his Complex League rehab assignment, he's yet to hit one for Nashville. Nevertheless, the 22-year-old owns better-than-average strikeout (17.2 percent) and walk (9.5 percent) rates during his minor league career, which, with his solid hit and power tools, should help get him to the majors later this year, even if it's just a late-season call-up.

Jeferson Quero Back at Triple-A Nashville

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero (hamstring) has been reassigned to Triple-A Nashville after completing an 11-game rehab assignment with the team's Arizona Complex League affiliate. The Brewers' second-ranked prospect went 1-for-5 with a single and two strikeouts in his first game back with the Sounds on Tuesday night. In his last full season of 2023, the 5-foot-11 backstop hit .262 with 16 home runs and registered a .339 OBP thanks to a 10.0 percent walk rate in 90 games at Double-A. Due to so much missed time, he'll have to get off to a hot start in order to get the call to majors by season's end, and with William Contreras locked in as the starting catcher, there's no need to rush him.

Jeferson Quero Homers in Four-Hit Game on Rehab Assignment

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero continued to work his way back from a strained hamstring, playing in his ninth rehab game for the team's Arizona Complex League affiliate on Tuesday, and what a game it was. The 22-year-old went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, four RBI, and two runs scored in the contest. The Brewers' second-ranked prospect could be headed back to Triple-A Nashville after this performance and has a chance to make his MLB debut later this year. The Venezuelan backstop logged one plate appearance at Triple-A last year before going down with a shoulder injury that kept him out all season, but MLB's 41st-ranked prospect has a solid offensive profile that could make him an intriguing add in fantasy if he were to get the call, although he's not a stash candidate at this time.

Jeferson Quero Expected to Move Rehab to Triple-A Soon

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero (hamstring, shoulder) injured his hamstring just as he was completing his comeback from last year's shoulder surgery. Quero is now expected to move from the rookie-level Arizona Complex League to Triple-A Nashville as soon as next Monday, according to MLB.com. In six games in the ACL, Quero has gone 2-for-15 with two home runs, three RBI, four runs scored, five walks and one strikeout. The 22-year-old catching prospect missed all of the 2024 season due to his shoulder surgery, but he's past that injury now and is getting close to making his 2025 debut in the minor leagues. Per MLB Pipeline, Quero is Milwaukee's No. 2 prospect and the fifth-best catching prospect. Despite being one of the best catching prospects in all of baseball, Quero is currently blocked at the big-league level by William Contreras.

Jeferson Quero To Resume Baseball Activities

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero (hamstring, shoulder) has resumed baseball activities as he continues his return from multiple injuries. The Venezuelan backstop made one plate appearance last season before going down with a shoulder injury that required surgery, then suffered a hamstring injury in spring training this year. Whenever the 22-year-old gets back in the lineup, it is expected to be with Triple-A Nashville, but the Brewers' top prospect (MLB No. 44) should make his major-league debut at some point later this year. However, after missing so much time and with William Contreras locked in at catcher, there is no need to rush it. With a 16-homer campaign under his belt in just 90 games in 2023, there is some pop in his bat, so fantasy managers needing catcher help will want to monitor his progression, although he is known more for his work behind the plate than his offense.

Jeferson Quero Set Back With Hamstring Injury

Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero (hamstring, shoulder), who is still building back from right-shoulder surgery last year to fix a torn labrum, has recently been set back by a hamstring injury in recent days, according to MLB Pipeline's Sam Dykstra. Quero is expected to return to minor-league action (likely with Triple-A Nashville) later this month. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues should keep an eye on Quero, as he could be an elite defensive option for the Brewers by the second half of the season. The 22-year-old backstop is the team's top prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and is also considered the No. 5 catching prospect in the league. His defense is ahead of his offense, though, so fantasy managers will likely need to practice patience whenever he makes his MLB debut. Quero only played one game last year for Nashville and hit .262/.339/.441 with 16 homers and 49 RBI in 90 games at Double-A Biloxi in 2023.
