It's possible that Arcia moves into a part-time role with the Rockies likely wanting to get some of their younger players more playing time down the stretch. That being said, Arcia isn't someone that needs to be rostered in fantasy formats right now. In a corresponding move, Aaron Schunk has been optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque to make room for Arcia on the active roster.

If nobody claims the 30-year-old on waivers, he'll be free to sign with any team. He hit .218/.271/.354 in 157 games last year but matched his career-high with 17 homers. In just 14 games in 2025, Arcia went 6-for-31 (.194) with no homers, one walk and eight strikeouts before quickly finding himself on the bench in favor of Allen.

Arcia is quickly losing the starting gig at shortstop to Allen, as he's been on the bench for three of the last four games. He's gone just 5-for-24 early on with an RBI and a run scored. Neither White nor Allen have faced Boyle in their careers.

Meanwhile, Arcia has gone 2-for-13 with five strikeouts in his first four games of the 2025 season. Arcia was expected to be the team's starting shortstop, but it appears Allen is getting a legitimate shot to take over everyday duties in the early going. While he's hitting .400 with a 1.600 OPS with a homer and two RBI in five career at-bats versus Alcantara, it won't be an easy matchup and Arcia should be avoided in DFS lineups. It will be telling who the Braves go with on Tuesday for the start of a series against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies.
