Tre' Morgan Hits Second Triple-A Long Ball

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Tre' Morgan went 2-for-4 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Nashville. This was Morgan's third multi-hit game over his last five contests. While his power production has yet to show the top level of the minor leagues, the first baseman has shown elite eye at the plate. Through his first 41 games with Triple-A Norfolk, the No. 5-ranked prospect in Tampa Bay has posted a .287 AVG with a stellar .428 OBP. He has struck out just 42 times and drawn 32 walks. Last summer, Morgan split time between Low-A, High-A, and Double-A. Through 100 games, he posted a remarkable .324/.408/.423 line with 23 doubles, 10 home runs, and a 48:48 K:BB. If Morgan can continue to find his power swing, he could earn a late-season call to Tampa Bay.

Tre' Morgan Hits First Triple-A Home Run

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Tre' Morgan went 1-for-4 with his first Triple-A home run on Friday evening. The 22-year-old missed some time earlier this season due to a quadriceps injury but has been very productive when on the field. Through his first 32 games with Triple-A Durham, the No. 4-ranked prospect in the Tampa Bay system has held an impressive .294/.434/.374 line with six doubles, one long ball, a stolen base, and a strong 31:25 K:BB. Last summer, Morgan spent time with Low-A, High-A, and even Double-A. Through 100 cumulative games, the No.79-ranked prospect in the game held a .324/.408/.483 line. If he can continue to produce at Triple-A, Morgan should be in the mix to join Tampa Bay during the stretch run.

Tre' Morgan Returns from Injured List, Records Two Hits on Wednesday

Tampa Bay Rays first base/outfield prospect Tre' Morgan (foot) was activated from the 7-day injured list on Wednesday and went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI, and a run scored for Triple-A Durham. The Rays' fourth-ranked prospect had been dealing with a sprained right foot, but appears to be fully recovered. The 22-year-old had already missed a week in mid-May and also a couple of weeks at the beginning of the season due to a quad injury, logging just 27 games played so far in 2025. Ignoring the missed time, the left-handed slugger is riding an eight-game hit streak, during which time he's gone 15-for-33 (.455), although just one of those hits went for extra bases. Overall, the former third-rounder has fared well in his first taste of Triple-A, hitting .306 and logging a .424 OBP thanks to a strong 14.4 percent walk rate. The youngster hit 10 home runs and stole 20 bags last year in 100 games, and while he owns a 60-grade hit tool per MLB Pipeline, it might be his 70-grade fielding that gets him on the big league roster later this year.

Tre' Morgan Activated Off Injured List, Set To Make Triple-A Debut On Tuesday

Tampa Bay Rays infield prospect Tre' Morgan (quadriceps) has been activated off the injured list and will make his Triple-A debut on Tuesday evening. Morgan opened the campaign on the injured list but was able to avoid an extended absence. Last season, Morgan enjoyed an impressive season in the minor leagues and was able to progress quite quickly through the minor leagues. The 22-year-old opened the campaign with Low-A and finished the season with Double-A Montgomery. Across 79 games split between Low-A and High-A, Morgan posted a stellar .354/.431/.519 slash line with eight home runs and nine stolen bases. At Double-A, Morgan struggled as he held a modest .211 AVG but was able to show enough progress to open this season with Triple-A. If he performs well with Durham, he should push for a second-half MLB debut.

Tre' Morgan Stays Hot In 2024 Fall Stars Game

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Tre' Morgan went 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base during the 2024 Fall Stars Game. Morgan's lone hit went for extra bases. Through 17 games in the Arizona Fall League, the 22-year-old has posted an impressive .347/.405/.528 slash line with eight doubles, 15 RBI, and an 8:8 BB:K. Last season, the No. 10 prospect in the Tampa Bay system opened the season in Single-A but was able to reach Double-A by the final month. Across all three levels, the LSU product carried a stellar .324/408/.483 line with 23 doubles, 10 home runs, 20 stolen bases, and a 48:48 BB:K. Fantasy managers should monitor his progress during spring training, as he may only need another brief look at Double-A before reaching Triple-A later this summer given his current trajectory.

Tre' Morgan Red-Hot In August

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Tre' Morgan is heating up in August for Double-A Montgomery. In his first five games since being promoted to Montgomery, Morgan has hit successfully in each contest. Overall in August between High-A and Double-A, he is hitting .400/.437/.646 with three homers and 18 RBI. The LSU product is the No. 11 prospect for the Rays. The 22-year-old is progressing nicely through the minors and alongside Xavier Isaac makes for a nice tandem of first-base prospects in the Rays' system.

Rays Promote Tre' Morgan To Double-A

The Tampa Bay Rays are promoting first base prospect Tre' Morgan to Double-A Montgomery. Morgan is the Rays No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline and Montgomery will now be the third team that he will suit up for this season after opening the season with High-A Charleston before a promotion to High-A Bowling Green. Morgan, 22, isn't the prototypical first baseman as he lacks power, but he makes good contact and gets on base plenty. Between Charleston and Bowling Green, Morgan hit a combined .354 with 21 doubles, eight homers, 55 RBI and 18 stolen bases with a .950 OPS in 297 at-bats. Although he lacks power, Morgan's ability to get on the bases should continue to allow him to ascend through the Rays system. Due to his lack of power, he is only a watch-list candidate in dynasty leagues for now.

Tre' Morgan Riding Seven-Game Hitting Streak

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Tre' Morgan has been swinging a hot bat at High-A. Morgan is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak and an overall. 394/.412/.697 line through August with two round-trippers and four doubles. Since moving up to High-A Bowling Green in mid-May, the LSU product has posted a strong .376/.452/.580 line with six home runs, 41 RBI, 10 stolen bases, and a 24:17 BB:K ratio. Morgan opened the campaign by getting his second look at Single-A ball and held a .320/.398/.440 line through 26 games. Morgan is a name to keep a close eye on in dynasty formats but remains several seasons away from his major league debut.

Tre' Morgan Racking Up Hits In High-A

Tampa Bay Rays outfield prospect Tre' Morgan has been swinging a hot bat for High-A Bowling Green. Over his past two games, Morgan has collected back-to-back, four-hit performances. Morgan, 21, opened the season in Single-A Charleston, but has split his season between there and Bowling Green. Between both levels, Morgan has hit a combined .354 with 16 doubles, four homers, 36 RBI and 15 stolen bases. Morgan doesn't have the prototypical power of a traditional first baseman, but he provides a good eye at the plate and excellent defense. Outside of dynasty leagues. Morgan can be ignored for now as he is likely to be better real-life asset than fantasy asset moving forward.
