Bud Dupree News
Free-agent linebacker Bud Dupree has reportedly signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers. Dupree met with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons in addition to the Chargers. The 31-year-old has played with both the Steelers and Falcons during his career so it appears Dupree was looking for a new home. The veteran linebacker still has something left in the tank. He recorded 6.5 sacks last season with Atlanta. Those 6.5 sacks were the most for Dupree since the 2020 season. His addition should be a solid boost for this defensive unit heading into next season.

Bud Dupree Signs With Falcons
Free-agent linebacker Bud Dupree agreed to a one-year, $5 million deal with the Falcons. The 30-year-old signed a five-year, $82.5 million contract with the Titans in 2021 after spending six years in Pittsburgh. However, after appearing in only 22 games in the last two seasons, Tennessee opted to move on, releasing him in March. Dupree has totaled 266 tackles and 46.5 sacks during his career, so it's obvious he's not lacking skill. But in order to make a difference for IDP managers, Dupree will need to stay healthy.

Titans Expected To Release Bud Dupree
The Tennessee Titans are expected to release pass-rusher Bud Dupree, according to sources. The former big-ticket free agent was due $17 million in 2023, but the Titans are going to reallocate their resources elsewhere under new general manager Ran Carthon. Dupree played in only 11 games last year and ended the year with a pectoral injury that could cause him to miss offseason workouts with his new team. In total, he racked up just 18 tackles (14 solo), six tackles for loss, nine QB hits, four sacks and two fumble recoveries for the Titans in 2022. Dupree was a disappointment the last two years in Tennessee with only seven sacks, 27 solo tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 17 QB hits in 22 games (17 starts).

Bud Dupree Placed On Injured Reserve Saturday
The Tennessee Titans placed linebacker Bud Dupree (abdomen) on injured reserve Saturday. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Dupree is expected to return in a few weeks. The 28-year-old will be eligible to return on December 19 as the Titans have a bye in Week 13. He has racked up seven tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble over seven games this season. Olasunkanmi Adeniyi should see an increased role and uptick in snaps while Dupree is sidelined.

Bud Dupree Considered Day-To-Day
Tennessee Titans pass-rusher Bud Dupree (abdomen) is considered day-to-day but is still undergoing testing to determine the severity of the injury that he suffered in the Week 10 win over the New Orleans Saints. There's a chance that Dupree misses some time, but there's no firm timetable for him right now. The outside linebacker played just one defensive snap on Sunday before he was forced to leave the game. The 28-year-old missed three games earlier this year after having a setback with his surgically repaired knee, and he has just one sack in seven games after signing a five-year, $82.5 million contract with the Titans. If Dupree misses more time, Olasunkanmi Adeniyi will be in line for more playing time.

Bud Dupree Ruled Out
Tennessee Titans linebacker Bud Dupree (abdominal) has been ruled out for the remainder of the team's Week 10 contest against the Saints. The veteran linebacker has played just six games this year, with seven tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. His absence likely won't lead to many issues for the Titans, as he's seen his snap rate fall down to 60 percent in recent weeks.

Bud Dupree Questionable For Week 3
Tennessee Titans linebacker Bud Dupree (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. He was limited in Thursday's practice but missed Friday's session. The 28-year-old is a game-time decision and is trending in the wrong direction to suit up in Week 3. Dupree logged 39 snaps and racked up just one tackle in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Seattle Seahawks. The Titans linebacker was effective in 2020, recording eight sacks, eight tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles across 11 games. Olasunkanmi Adeniyi would draw the start at linebacker if Dupree cannot suit up.

Linebacker Bud Dupree Passes Physical With Titans
Tennessee Titans linebacker Bud Dupree passed his physical on Friday and will be eligible to practice with the team. Dupree was signed to a massive five-year, $82.5 million contract with Tennessee this past offseason. He offers a boost to a Titans defense that ranked 28th in defensive DVOA and allowed 27 points per game (24th). They also tied for 29th in pressure rate (just 7.2%) in 2020. Dupree recorded eight sacks in just 12 games last season and 11.5 sacks in 2019. Serious money went into signing Dupree, cornerback Janoris Jenkins and edge rusher Denico Autry this offseason. Expect the Titans defense to take one of the biggest steps forward this coming season under new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen, but until we actually see it happen, they can begin the season on your league's waiver wire.

Titans Sign Bud Dupree To Five-Year Deal
The Tennessee Titans signed former Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher Bud Dupree to a five-year deal with a maximum value of $85 million. Dupree will make $16.5 million per year with $35 million guaranteed. The 28-year-old played on the franchise tag in 2020 and was lost for the season with a torn ACL in his knee. Before his injury, he had eight sacks in 11 games after he had a career-high 11.5 sacks in 2019. The 2015 first-rounder will take on more of a lead role for the Titans Defense. Tennessee gave him some help on Monday by signing former Colts defensive lineman Denico Autry to a three-year deal. The Titans had just 25 sacks last season, so they'll be banking on the combination of Dupree and Autry to help them increase those numbers.

Bud Dupree Ahead Of Schedule In Rehab
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree (knee), who tore his ACL in a Week 12 win over the Ravens on Dec. 2, said that he plans to be ready for training camp and is ahead of schedule in his rehab. "I'm feeling great right now," Dupree said. The star pass-rusher had eight sacks and 31 tackles before suffering the season-ending injury and had formed a two-headed pass-rushing monster with teammate T.J. Watt. After Dupree's injury, Pittsburgh's defense fell off the rest of the way. The 27-year-old played the 2020 season on the franchise tag for $15.828 million and will hit the free-agent market this offseason. The Steelers are unlikely to tag Dupree again, as they are projected to be well over the 2021 salary cap. Dupree should be in play in IDP leagues, if he's healthy, wherever he winds up playing next season.
