Tre' Harris Flashes With One-Handed Catch at Saturday's Practice

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre' Harris made one of the better plays of Saturday's practice, snagging a one-handed catch during team work. It would not have counted in a game, as the Chargers noted a false start and a Tuli Tuipulotu sack on the rep, but Harris still put his ball skills on display. The 2025 second-round pick had 30 catches for 324 yards and one touchdown as a rookie. His finish was more encouraging than the full-season line, with 187 receiving yards over the final six games. Mike McDaniel has liked what he's seen, saying this offseason that Harris has "a lot more juice" than he realized coming out of Ole Miss. A WR1 push is probably getting ahead of things. Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston remain listed as the starters on the Chargers' current depth chart, with Harris behind McConkey. But Harris is making a real case for more work in Year 2, and Saturday's highlight only adds to that push in Justin Herbert's offense.

Tre' Harris Viewed as a Top Contributor

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre' Harris could be headed towards a breakout campaign. According to Alex Insdorf, head coach John Harbaugh said on Saturday that Harris is viewed as one of their top guys, along with Ladd McConkey. If this is accurate, Harris could be in for a huge season in 2026. Last year, Harris finished with 30 receptions, 324 yards, and one touchdown during his rookie year with the Chargers. Right now, Harris should be slotted in as the third wideout behind McConkey and Quentin Johnston. Those two should be the favorites for targets, but it sounds like Harris isn't far behind them.

Tre' Harris Has Matchup-Nightmare Potential

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre' Harris drew strong praise from offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, who called him "absolutely starving to improve" and a potential "matchup nightmare," according to Alex Insdorf. McDaniel pointed to Harris' unusual combination of receiver speed and a physical playing style that rivals some tight ends. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Harris caught 30 passes for 324 yards and one touchdown as a rookie, but he showed more late in the year, producing 187 yards over the final six games. Harris still has to earn steady targets alongside Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, so the comments alone do not guarantee a second-year breakout. Still, his size, physicality, and late-season progress give McDaniel plenty to work with. Harris remains more of a deep-league sleeper than a dependable redraft starter, but his role is worth watching closely throughout the preseason.

Tre' Harris Worth a Look in Deeper Redraft Leagues

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre' Harris had a quiet rookie year, but he gave the team a little more to think about down the stretch. Harris caught 30 passes for 324 yards and one touchdown on 43 targets. He produced 187 of those yards over the final six games, and 18 of his 30 catches moved the chains. The 2025 second-round pick also played well as a blocker, which helped him stay involved even when the ball was not coming his way. Now there is fresh encouragement from Mike McDaniel. The Chargers offensive coordinator said Harris showed more burst than he expected during the offseason program. The opportunity is still messy. Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston are coming off productive seasons, and fourth-round rookie Brenen Thompson brings more speed to the room. Harris has to force his way into a steady role before he matters in most leagues. RotoBaller has him at WR81. That keeps him off the standard-league priority list, but the late finish, draft capital, and offseason praise make him worth a look in deeper redraft formats.

Tre' Harris has a Path to Relevance, but Target Competition Will be Fierce

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre' Harris has a better Year 2 setup than his rookie numbers show, but his path to consistent targets will be complicated. Harris caught just 30 passes for 324 yards and one touchdown in 17 games last season, a quiet start for a 2025 second-round pick. The Chargers still have reasons to keep developing him. He is 24, has 6-foot-3 size, and averaged 17.2 yards per catch at Ole Miss before Los Angeles drafted him 55th overall. Mike McDaniel's arrival also gives the Chargers offense a different look around Justin Herbert, which at least keeps the door open for new usage patterns. The issue is that Harris has to earn targets, not just snaps. Ladd McConkey is the clear top receiver, Quentin Johnston is directly ahead of him on the depth chart, and Oronde Gadsden plus David Njoku add tight-end volume to the mix. At WR81 on RotoBaller's board, Harris is a late redraft swing and dynasty hold, not someone to buy as if the breakout already happened.

Tre' Harris Still the Odd Man Out in Improved Chargers Offense?

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre' Harris had a quiet rookie season after coming off the board in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, finishing the year with 344 receiving yards and one touchdown on 32 catches. With the Chargers' offense among the most hyped heading into 2026, the drumbeat surrounding Harris remains relatively muted, as the depth chart ahead of him appears securely locked in place. Even with the team's most targeted player from 2025 no longer on the roster, an expected move to more two-receiver sets under new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel will likely see Keenan Allen's 118 vacated opportunities distributed to other parts of the roster. Behind presumed starters Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, Harris could again face a rotational role, with 2026 fourth-round pick Brenen Thompson brought on board for his obvious fit in McDaniels' speed and spacing-based offense. Should things go as well for the Chargers as some are expecting, McDaniel could see head coaching opportunities again in 2027, which would create the possibility of another re-roll for Harris, but for the time being, he simply remains a dynasty hold as RotoBaller's WR64.

Tre' Harris has Been a Top-Three Receiver During Offseason Program

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said that Quentin Johnston, Tre' Harris, and Ladd McConkey have "clearly been the top three" wide receivers for the Bolts throughout the offseason program, according to Kris Rhim of ESPN. Harris, 24, was the 55th overall pick in the second round in last year's NFL draft out of Ole Miss. He caught 30 of his 43 targets for 324 yards and just one touchdown in 17 regular-season games (10 starts) for the Bolts, but he appears primed to take on a bigger role in Year 2 under new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel with veteran Keenan Allen still a free agent. Harris' fantasy stock for the 2026 season would take a major hit if Allen were to re-sign in L.A. While Harris has an opportunity for a bigger role this year, he will be battling for the WR3 role with fourth-round rookie Brenen Thompson, and he'll most likely go undrafted in 12-team fantasy football leagues this fall. At RotoBaller, Harris is currently ranked just inside the top-100 fantasy wideouts at No. 90 as he embarks on his second year in the NFL.

Tre' Harris a Dynasty Hold That Could Require Patience

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre' Harris caught only 30 passes for 324 yards and a touchdown as a rookie, often left off the field in favor of Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and Keenan Allen. With significant changes coming to the Chargers' offense, there is a path for the 2025 second-round pick to take a significant step forward in year two. New offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel takes over for the far more conservative Greg Roman, which could mean more downfield opportunities for a player who averaged more than 17 yards per reception in his two years at Ole Miss. The Chargers also spent four of their eight 2026 draft picks on the offensive line and are expected to have both of their Pro Bowl tackles back and healthy for the start of the season, presumably allowing longer developing plays to operate more frequently on schedule. With Allen no longer on the roster, Los Angeles added speedy receiver Brenen Thompson in the fourth round of the NFL Draft, which is a win for Harris in terms of immediate target distribution, though the two young receivers could operate in similar roles. At RotoBaller's WR66, Harris is a dynasty hold who has the skills to become a weekly fantasy contributor. He could also spend another year buried on the depth chart should the Chargers elect to bring in additional pass catchers, ever a possibility given the team's recent hosting of free-agent tight end David Njoku, while Allen also remains on the market.

Tre' Harris Offers Buy-Low Upside for Dynasty Managers

A second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre' Harris did not get many chances to contribute to his team's offense as a rookie. Across 17 games, the 24-year-old recorded 30 receptions for 324 yards and one touchdown on 43 targets. Harris largely operated as the fifth target in the Chargers' passing game behind wide receivers Ladd McConkey, Keenan Allen, and Quentin Johnston, as well as tight end Oronde Gadsden. Allen currently remains unsigned heading into 2026, which could open the door for Harris to move into a more prominent role in Los Angeles. The Chargers also replaced former offensive coordinator Greg Roman with former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, which could lead to a more pass-happy offense overall. Harris still faces an uphill battle to make a significant contribution in Los Angeles, but he could be a decent buy-low target for dynasty managers after his quiet rookie year.

The Buy-Low Window for Tre' Harris Could Be Closing

A second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre' Harris was largely blocked off from significant playing time as a rookie. Across 17 games, the 24-year-old recorded 30 receptions for 324 yards and one touchdown on 43 targets and spent most of the year as the Chargers' WR4 behind Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and Keenan Allen. However, the soon-to-be 34-year-old Allen currently remains unsigned, which could open up a path to a starting role for Harris in 2026. Additionally, Los Angeles faces a May 1 deadline to decide on whether or not to exercise Johnston's fifth-year option for the 2027 season. If the Chargers decline the option, Harris would almost certainly be the team's succession plan for Johnston in a starting role on the outside. For dynasty managers, buying low on Harris before the Chargers' long-term roster-building plans are out in the open could be a smart move.
