Jets Open to Bringing Breece Hall Back

New York Jets general manager Darren Mougey said earlier this week that the team would like to re-sign running back Breece Hall, according to Antwan Staley of the New York Daily News. Mougey wouldn't go into specifics, though, on whether the Jets would consider using the franchise tag to retain Hall. In another bad season for the Jets, the 24-year-old was one of the few bright spots on offense. The former second-rounder posted his first career 1,000-yard rushing season on a career-high 243 carries while adding four rushing touchdowns. Hall also had 36 catches on 48 targets for 350 yards and another score in 16 starts. He did not play in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills due to a knee injury, but he should be fine going into the 2026 campaign. Hall has proven that he can still be fantasy relevant in New York, but for fantasy purposes, his stock would most certainly improve if he were to leave town.

Kayshon Boutte Questionable to Face the Chargers

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said that wide receiver Kayshon Boutte (hamstring) is questionable to play in the Wild-Card playoff matchup on Sunday night against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers, according to Mark Daniels of Mass Live. Boutte popped up on the injury report this week on Thursday with a hamstring, which could keep him from suiting up this weekend. Already a pretty shaky WR4/flex option for those in fantasy playoff leagues, the 23-year-old is now definitely a player to fade in the first round of the playoffs. Boutte was not among the top-50 wideouts during the regular season in terms of half-PPR points per game. He did have six touchdowns on the year, but he added a modest 33 receptions on 46 targets for 551 yards in 14 games. If Boutte doesn't play, both DeMario Douglas and rookie Kyle Williams will become slightly more intriguing as sleeper plays at WR against the Bolts.

J.K. Dobbins Could Return if Broncos Advance to Super Bowl

Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins (foot), who landed on Injured Reserve in mid-November after having surgery to fix a Lisfranc foot injury, could be an option to return to the team if they advance to the Super Bowl on Feb. 8, according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. Dobbins was well on his way to a career year in 2025 in his first year in Denver before the injury, as he had 772 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 153 carries over 10 games. He was fifth in the league in rushing at the time of his Week 10 injury, and the Broncos ranked eighth in yards per carry from RBs (4.8) and 10th in RB yards per game (101.2). Denver has gone 6-1 without Dobbins, but they averaged only 3.8 yards per carry in the final seven games, ranking 23rd in the NFL. Their 79.1 RB yards per game ranked 24th. Getting Dobbins back for a potential Super Bowl matchup would be huge for Denver's offense, but a lot has to go right still for that to be on the table for Dobbins and the Broncos.

Ben Bredeson Expected to be Ready for Offseason Program

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive guard Ben Bredeson (knee), who missed the final four games of the season due to a knee injury, is expected to be fully recovered and ready to take part in the team's offseason program during the spring, according to Greg Auman of FOX Sports. Bredeson is under contract with Tampa for two more seasons and should be locked in for a starting role on the offensive line going into the start of the 2026 season in the fall. Injuries to the Buccaneers' offensive line made life difficult for quarterback Baker Mayfield and were a big reason why the team failed to qualify for the postseason. Before injuring his knee late in the year, Bredeson started all 11 games he appeared in during his second year with the Bucs. He has started all 28 games that he's played in for Tampa.

Omarion Hampton Spotted at Friday's Practice

Los Angeles Chargers rookie first-round running back Omarion Hampton (ankle) is dressed and is going through stretches during practice on Friday, according to Eric Smith of Chargers.com. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said that Hampton would be involved in practice on Thursday, but he was listed as a DNP for the second straight day this week. It's good news that the 22-year-old is back on the field on Friday, but his status is still up in the air for Sunday night's Wild-Card clash in New England against the Patriots. Fantasy managers will want to check back on the North Carolina product's official designation on L.A.'s final Wild-Card injury report. Hampton will most likely be listed as questionable, and he could be a game-time decision on Sunday evening. If he's unable to play or limited at all this weekend, Kimani Vidal would be in line for lead-back duties for the Bolts in a tough matchup on the road.

TreVeyon Henderson Not Spotted at Friday's Practice

The Boston Herald's Doug Kyed did not see New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson at Friday's practice. It's unclear why Henderson was not on the practice field, but it will be a situation that we will monitor closely going into the weekend. If the rookie RB's status is in question going into Sunday night's Wild-Card playoff game against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers, it would open up a much bigger role for fellow backfield mate Rhamondre Stevenson and make him a surefire RB1 for fantasy football playoff lineups. The 23-year-old Henderson had 13 carries for 53 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins, and he finished his rookie year in the NFL by averaging 11.2 half-PPR points, ranking him 23rd among all RBs. He's one of the most explosive young backs in the league, so it would be a key loss for New England if he's unable to play this weekend.

Rachaad White Unlikely to Return to Tampa?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White, who will be an unrestricted free agent in March, appears ready to move on. White said back in May that 2025 would be his "last ride" in Tampa Bay, and he said, "Thank yaw forever for da past four years," on a social-media post following the regular season. Ironically, the 2025 campaign was White's most efficient with the Bucs, as he finished with 132 carries for 572 rushing yards and four touchdowns, just 16 rushing yards behind Bucky Irving despite having 41 fewer carries. The 26-year-old also added 40 receptions for 218 yards through the air. White's usage sharply declined after Irving returned from an early-season injury. White's ability as a runner and receiver should make him pretty attractive on the open market this offseason, but his 2026 fantasy value will depend on where he lands and what role he's in.

Ty Johnson to Practice on Friday

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said on the radio that running back Ty Johnson will practice on Friday, and the team will see how he does, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic. Johnson tweaked his ankle in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the New York Jets and was unable to practice on Wednesday or Thursday. It's good news that the 28-year-old is back on the field on Friday, but he'll likely at least carry a questionable designation into Sunday's Wild-Card playoff tilt against the hosting Jacksonville Jaguars. Johnson had two touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) in the Week 18 win on 15 touches, but it came with the Bills resting starting RB James Cook. If Johnson can play this weekend, he'll likely operate as the RB3 in Buffalo's backfield and won't be a recommended sleeper play in fantasy at the RB position.

Joshua Palmer to be Questionable for Wild-Card Game

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) will not practice on Friday and will be listed as questionable for Wild-Card weekend on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic. While the Bills are still leaving the door open for Palmer to play this weekend, the fact that he didn't practice all week doesn't bode well for his availability in the playoff opener. The 26-year-old isn't really on the fantasy radar to begin with after catching only 22 passes for 303 yards and no touchdowns on 37 targets in the regular season in his first year with the Bills. He could end up being a game-time decision on Sunday in Jacksonville, but if Palmer is surprisingly active, he probably won't see the field very much, if at all.

Kenneth Walker III a High-Risk, High-Reward Running Back for Fantasy Playoffs

Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III had an inconsistent 2025 season, but finished the year with 1,027 rushing yards on 221 carries (4.65 YPC) and five touchdowns. He also contributed 282 yards through the air on 31 receptions as well. The inconsistencies came on a week-to-week basis, as he split snaps and lost most of the goal-line work to Zach Charbonnet, the five touchdowns he scored were scattered across four weeks of the season, and his carries per game fluctuated between 10 and 17 weekly, which resulted in him being a risky RB2 start all season long, even with the final numbers being decent. Heading into the NFL playoffs and managers drafting in fantasy playoff formats, Walker will remain a high-risk, high-reward running back option. The Seahawks are locked into the No. 1 seed in the NFC, meaning they will not play in Wild Card Weekend and will likely face a somewhat difficult matchup the rest of the way, as most NFC teams have fairly good run defenses. Combine that with Charbonnet's involvement in the offense and quarterback Sam Darnold's inexperience in the playoffs, and it may be tough sledding for Walker and the Seahawks offense from a fantasy standpoint.

Courtland Sutton a Solid Option for Fantasy Playoff Formats

The Denver Broncos finished the 2025 season with the No. 1 seed in the AFC, going 14-3, largely thanks to an elite defense and wide receiver Courtland Sutton on the offensive side of the football. Sutton finished the 2025 regular season with 1,017 receiving yards on 74 receptions (13.74 YPC) and seven touchdowns in 17 games played. Sutton hit a bit of a cold streak in the middle of the season when second-year player Troy Franklin burst onto the scene, but for the most part, Sutton has operated as the team's No. 1 receiver and will rest with his teammates during the Wild Card weekend, while they wait to see who they play in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs. Sutton will likely be drafted lower in fantasy playoff leagues due to the first-round bye, and him being a middling option, however, if the Broncos are going to make a run in the AFC, they are going to need their top receiver to perform, and second-year starter Bo Nix will likely be looking the eight year vets way a lot when they do throw the football.

Emanuel Wilson Returning to a Complementary Role for Playoffs?

Green Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson has had a nice 2025 season, rushing for 496 yards on 125 attempts (3.97 YPC) and scoring three touchdowns across 17 games. His involvement in the Packers offense increased this season, as he has played a complementary role to starter Josh Jacobs, and he has also filled in for Jacobs a handful of times throughout the 2025 season, providing fantasy managers with a plug-and-play RB2 option during those weeks. With the Packers resting their starters in Week 18, and Jacobs coming out and saying on Wednesday that "this is the best he's felt in six weeks," after dealing with a knee injury for the majority of the second half of the season, it appears likely that the Packers will lean on the veteran in this situation. This would make it difficult to justify rostering Wilson in fantasy playoff leagues as anything more than a bench spot should Jacobs get hurt, and Wilson would step in.

Kendrick Bourne an Intriguing Option for Wild-Card Weekend

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne recorded 37 receptions for 551 yards (14.89 YPC) and zero touchdowns on 53 targets in 16 games in 2025. The majority of Bourne's production came in early October, when he stepped in as the team's main pass-catcher, with George Kittle, Jauan Jennings, and Ricky Pearsall (knee, ankle) all ruled out for a brief time. Bourne's role faded as the team continued to get healthy; however, should Pearsall miss Sunday's contest against the Philadelphia Eagles, Bourne could find himself playing more often and would likely be elevated to the team's No. 2 wide receiver alongside Jennings. Additionally, according to Novig, the Niners are underdogs (+4.5) and should be in a game flow that favors a pass-happy approach, which would result in more target opportunities for Bourne should he get more playing time. Demarcus Robinson would likely be operating more in three-wide receiver sets. Pending Pearsall's availability, Bourne would be a bit of a dart throw in fantasy playoff leagues, but would be worth a roster as a long-shot option.

Rashee Rice to be Reviewed Under League's Conduct Policy

The Kansas City Chiefs have issued a statement regarding domestic allegations against wide receiver Rashee Rice, which came up because his former girlfriend had posted pictures on social media. "The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League. We have no further comment at this time", David K. Li of NBC News reports. These allegations could result in a second significant off-field suspension for Rice, who was already suspended six games during the 2025 season following a hit-and-run incident in April of 2024. This is not the first time Rice's behavior has resulted in a potential suspension. Dynasty managers will want to keep tabs on this situation to know whether or not they will be without the Chiefs' No. 1 wide receiver at any point in the 2026 season. Rice racked up 571 receiving yards (10.77 YPC) on 53 receptions and five touchdowns during the 2025 season, in which he played in eight games.

Fred Warner Seen Running on a Side Field

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner (ankle) will not play in the Wild-Card matchup on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he was seen running on a side field during practice on Thursday, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic. The 29-year-old has been on Injured Reserve since injuring his ankle in Week 6, but if the 49ers pull the upset and beat Philadelphia this weekend, it's possible that Warner could return to provide a big boost to a depleted defensive unit. He could be an option to return as soon as the NFC Divisional Round next weekend, depending on whether the Niners advance, and how much progress he makes in practice next week. The 49ers' defense is down to its fourth middle linebacker after Tatum Bethune (groin) suffered a season-ending injury in last week's loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the Week 18 regular-season finale. San Fran's defense/special teams unit will be one to fade in fantasy on Wild-Card weekend.

David Montgomery's Future in Detroit Up in the Air?

Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery is under contract through the 2027 season, but his future with the team could be up in the air this offseason. "Those are discussions that we're gonna have to have in-depth. We love David Montgomery. He's a good football player. ...He deserves to be in a situation where his skill set can be utilized," general manager Brad Holmes said when asked if Montgomery will remain with the team. If the Lions cut the 28-year-old in the offseason, they'll save $11.26 million but will also take on $8.6 million in dead money. Monty took a clear back seat to Jahmyr Gibbs in Detroit's backfield in 2025. He was still a weekly RB3/flex consideration in fantasy football, though, and finished with a career-low 158 carries for 716 yards and eight rushing touchdowns in 17 games, adding 24 catches for 192 yards. Monty's 2026 fantasy value could look drastically different if he's playing in another city.

Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard said the team plans to re-sign quarterback Daniel Jones (Achilles) this offseason, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN. "I'm looking at him both near and long [term]," Ballard said of Jones, adding, "When you're chasing the quarterback all the time, it makes it very hard. Your margin for error really shrinks down. And I feel very good about Daniel Jones and where he's at, where he's going. Yes, he's got the Achilles. But I think Daniel Jones has got a really bright future here in Indianapolis." The 28-year-old tore his Achilles in Week 14, and the Colts ended up missing the playoffs after starting 8-2. Meanwhile, former first-rounder Anthony Richardson Sr.'s future in Indy is in question after losing the starting job to Jones and then suffering a season-ending orbital fracture in October. Jones threw for 3,101 yards, 19 touchdowns, and eight picks in 13 starts before his season-ending Achilles tear. He proved in 2025 that he has QB1 upside in the Colts' offense, but his lengthy injury history makes him more of a QB2 target in fantasy drafts.

The Bolts held the 22-year-old out in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Denver Broncos, along with a lot of their starters, but he's now officially up in the air to be ready to go for Sunday night's Wild-Card clash against the New England Patriots. We'll have a better idea of Hampton's status on Friday, but as of right now, he's a starting RB trending down in a bad matchup. If Hampton is out or limited at all this weekend, Kimani Vidal would jump into RB1 territory for the volume boost alone.
