Gardner Minshew II News

Gardner Minshew II Faces Tough Week 2 Matchup

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew II had a stellar Week 1, completing 95 percent of his passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns. But a repeat performance seems unlikely in Week 2 as he faces a Tennessee Titans team whose defense should be up to the task to slow down the Minshew Mania. In Week 1, this Titans team held Drew Lock to just one passing touchdown. Minshew is worth a look in two-QB leagues, but don't expect him to have the same strong outing he did last week. There's just not enough offensive talent here to trust this team on a weekly basis.

Gardner Minshew II Only Throws One Incompletion

If the Jacksonville Jaguars were tanking for Trevor Lawrence this year, they got off to a bad start at doing it in Week 1, as they defeated the Colts 27-20. Quarterback Gardner Minshew had a stellar game, going 19-for-20 for 173 yards and three touchdowns. While he didn't pile up yards, he made smart plays and helped the Jaguars capture the surprising victory. Minshew has a good matchup in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins and should be considered a solid QB2 option in that game and moving forward.

Gardner Minshew II A QB2 Option To Start Season

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew II is a solid QB2 option with upside in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts. Minshew finished his rookie season with 3,271 passing yards on a 60.6 completion percentage with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. The 2020 Jaguars have a chance to be really bad, but bad teams can make for good fantasy plays, and Minshew's likely going to be throwing a ton this year, which could result in Minshew sneaking into low-end QB1 territory at some point. Against this Colts Defense, don't expect Minshew to explode, but he should in for a solid outing.
