Pittsburgh Steelers left guard Isaac Seumalo (shoulder) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Seumalo had not missed a single snap through the Steelers' first 11 games this season, but that streak comes to an end in Week 13. Spencer Anderson should see more snaps in his absence.
Free-agent guard Isaac Seumalo agreed to a three-year deal with the Steelers on Saturday. The 29-year-old has battled some injuries over the years. However, he appeared in all 17 games for the Eagles last season. Pittsburgh is apparently making the offensive line a priority, as the team also recently added Nate Herbig. The upgrade in protection could go a long way, especially concerning the development of Kenny Pickett. At the same time, Najee Harris, who has averaged 3.9 yards per carry during his career, should also benefit.
Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Isaac Seumalo (foot) said that he's ahead of schedule in his recovery from a Lisfranc foot injury that ended his season early last year. Seumalo played in just three games in 2021 before suffering his foot injury, and he played in just nine games in 2020. The 28-year-old should be the Eagles starting right guard in 2022 if he's fully healthy heading into Week 1 of the regular season. Seumalo was originally a third-round selection by the Eagles in 2016 out of Oregon State, and he's played in 64 games (43 starts) in his six seasons in the NFL.
Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Isaac Seumalo (foot) suffered a Lisfranc injury in the Monday night loss to the Dallas Cowboys and will require season-ending surgery. Seumalo will be placed on Injured Reserve as well. It's another big blow to an already beat up Eagles offensive line, as Brandon Brooks (pectoral) is already on Injured Reserve and left tackle Jordan Mailata is also hurt. Nate Herbig replaced Seumalo on the offensive line on Monday night and is likely to get the start in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Eagles running game could be in trouble with a shaky offensive line in front of them.
Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Isaac Seumalo (foot) was injured in the fourth quarter of the Monday night loss to the Dallas Cowboys and was carted off the field by the medical staff. The Eagles also played most of the game without safety K'Von Wallace, suffered a shoulder injury in the first half. Nate Herbig replaced Seumalo at left guard after he left the game. Philadelphia's offensive line is falling apart early in the year, as they've already lost left tackle Jordan Mailata (knee) and right guard Brandon Brooks (pectoral) to injury. Dallas' defensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and were collapsing the pocket frequently, making it really tough on second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts.
The Philadelphia Eagles restructured offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo's contract on Wednesday, creating $2.408 million in salary cap space. The Eagles dropped his base salary to the veteran minimum and paid out the rest of his salary for the 2021 season in a bonus. Seumalo is signed through the 2022 season after signing a three-year contract extension in 2019. The third-round pick in 2016 has developed in recent seasons and isn't likely going anywhere anytime soon. The 27-year-old from Oregon State has dealt with his fair share of injuries in recent seasons, but he's expected to take over as the starting center once Jason Kelce decides to hang up his cleats. Philadelphia is currently projected to be around $29 million over the salary cap after Seumalo's restructuring.
