Cardinals Believe Trey McBride Can Still Do More

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride's 126 receptions in 2025 were a single-season positional record, while his 252.9 half-PPR fantasy points were almost 90 more than the next closest tight end, but new head coach Mike LaFleur indicated on Wednesday a belief that the first-team All-Pro still has room for growth. "Here was your route tree since you've been here... What can we expand off it?" he recounted to the media. "I think he can have maybe a deeper intermediate route tree." Among 53 tight ends with at least 25 targets in 2025, McBride's 9.8 yards per reception ranked 34th, and while his underneath work allowed him to dominate in PPR leagues, the addition of more explosive plays could raise his ceiling even higher in 2026. The two-time Pro Bowler is RotoBaller's TE2 and a player who rarely escapes the second round of drafts.

Trey McBride Has High Hopes for Cardinals Offense

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride had high praise for the playmakers on the Cardinals' offense and said this is the year they break out. "We have so many playmakers on this offense with Marvin (Harrison Jr.), with (Michael Wilson), with me, with Jeremiyah (Love), with all these guys." "We're about to break out. This is the year it happens. Our talent is very underrated. Our offensive skill is one of the best in the NFL." McBride is entering Year 4 with Arizona and his first season under new head coach Mike LaFleur. The bad news is that LaFleur's offenses haven't favored tight ends in the past, with only one tight end totaling over 500 yards receiving in LaFleur's five years as an offensive coordinator. McBride is coming off a remarkable season, totaling over 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns on an NFL-record 126 receptions. McBride will need to overcome LaFleur's history with tight ends, as he should go off the board as a top two tight end in fantasy this season.

Trey McBride Is a Dynasty Cornerstone, Not a Sell-High Candidate

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride is the kind of player dynasty managers can overthink after a monster season. He caught 126 passes for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2025, one year after going 111-1,146-2. The 169 targets matter more than the touchdown spike. McBride has now topped 100 catches in back-to-back seasons, something no tight end had done before, and Arizona has him under contract through 2029. There is some uncertainty at quarterback, but Jacoby Brissett enters camp as the likely starter. Gardner Minshew II is the veteran alternative, while third-round rookie Carson Beck looks more like a longer-term option. Mike LaFleur has already talked about finding different ways to use McBride in the new offense. Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson remain part of a capable receiving group, but that did not keep McBride from leading the Cardinals in catches, yards, and receiving touchdowns last year. RotoBaller ranks him as the dynasty TE2. Contenders should be willing to pay for the weekly advantage, and rebuilders have no reason to move him just because his value is high. It would take another cornerstone asset, plus a meaningful piece, to make selling worthwhile.

Should Dynasty Rebuilders Consider Selling High on Trey McBride?

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride put together a dominant campaign in 2025, recording 126 receptions for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns on 169 targets across 17 games. The 26-year-old has emerged as a PPR-points scoring machine over the past two seasons, averaging 9.6 targets and 7.2 receptions per game since the start of 2024. Entering 2026, there's little doubt that McBride remains an elite tight end option for fantasy managers. However, dynasty managers may want to at least consider selling ultra-high on McBride. For one, McBride benefited from the Cardinals' abnormally high pass volume once Jacoby Brissett took over as the quarterback in 2025. While Brissett is back as the starter for 2026, Arizona has a new play-caller in Mike LaFleur and used the third overall pick in the 2026 draft on running back Jeremiyah Love. Additionally, McBride's 11 touchdowns last season may be an outlier, as he recorded just six touchdown catches over the first 49 games of his NFL career. It would need to be a massive haul, but dynasty rebuilders with McBride on their roster may want to explore a trade.

Trey McBride a Coveted Dynasty Cornerstone

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride set the single-season tight end reception record with 126 catches in 2025, topping the previous high mark by 10 catches. Heading into 2026, he profiles right alongside the Raiders' Brock Bowers as one of two elite difference-makers at the position, and at only 26 years old, a case could be made that he's worthy of a late first-round pick even in non-tight end premium dynasty startups. While Arizona's offense projects to look different than the one that closed the 2025 season throwing the ball at a near-historic rate, his 29.6% target share and 1,146 yards from 2024 represent the type of floor that should allow him to thrive in nearly any offensive environment. With Bowers three years younger, he gets the edge in RotoBaller's latest rankings, but McBride is comfortably the dynasty TE2 and one of the most valuable assets in tight-end premium leagues.

Trey McBride an Elite Fantasy TE Any Way You Slice it

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride was by far and away the top fantasy TE in 2025 in his fourth year in the NFL, and he was also a Pro Bowler for the second straight season. The 26-year-old finished with career highs across the board in catches (126), receiving yards (1,239), touchdowns (11), and targets (169) in 17 starts. The former second-rounder in 2022 out of Colorado State surprisingly became even more productive after quarterback Kyler Murray's foot injury opened the door for veteran Jacoby Brissett to start from Week 6 on. Ten of his 11 TDs on the year came with Brissett throwing him the ball, and he led all TEs with 33 red-zone targets. The good news for McBride's fantasy value in redraft and dynasty leagues going into the 2026 season is that Brissett will enter the year as Arizona's starter again. The one potential concern is the team's new offense under head coach Mike LaFleur, which should be much more balanced than last year's pass-happy attack. But even with an expected volume hit, McBride is an elite player at his position, and RotoBaller has him ranked as the TE2 in dynasty settings, behind only the Raiders' Brock Bowers.

Is Trey McBride Currently Undervalued in Dynasty Leagues?

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride took his already stellar production to an even higher level in 2025, recording 126 receptions for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns on 169 targets across 17 games. The 26-year-old finished the year as the runaway fantasy TE1, and he's now hauled in a remarkable 237 receptions over the last two seasons. McBride's production in 2025 surged once veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett took over under center for the Cardinals in Week 6. Heading into 2026, Brissett appears poised to remain Arizona's QB1 for at least one more season. While the Cardinals have other capable pass-catchers in wideouts Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, McBride is the clear focal point of the team's offense and should remain that way even under new Arizona head coach and play caller Mike LaFleur. In dynasty formats, McBride and Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers profile as the obvious top two players at their position.

Is Trey McBride the TE1 in Dynasty Fantasy Football?

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride is coming off a tremendous 2025 season in which he caught 126 passes for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns. He ended up finishing as the undisputed TE1 in fantasy football, just one year removed from being the overall TE2. No tight end has scored more fantasy points since the start of the 2024 season. As a result, there's an argument to be made that McBride might be the top tight end in dynasty fantasy football. Not only has he been highly productive year over year, but he's also just 26 years old and has an incredibly promising, long career ahead of him. McBride's biggest competition for the TE1 spot is Brock Bowers, who was the top-scoring tight end in 2024 but missed five games in 2025. Bowers is three years younger than McBride, but the two have similar quarterback situations. McBride will catch passes from Jacoby Brissett in 2026, but his quarterback situation in 2027 and beyond is unclear. Bowers will likely upgrade from Geno Smith to projected No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza. Given his youth and quarterback situation, Bowers has the slight edge right now, ranking as the TE1 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty fantasy football rankings. However, McBride is not far behind in the TE2 spot.

Trey McBride to Repeat Incredible Season with Quarterback Returning?

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride had a spectacular 2025 season, and he'll look to repeat his success with quarterback consistency on the way in 2026. Outside of five games with Kyler Murray as his quarterback, McBride spent most of last season catching passes from Jacoby Brissett. The veteran backup isn't a flashy passer by any means, but he played surprisingly well and supported an elite-tier campaign from McBride. The 26-year-old finished the year with 126 catches, 1,239 yards, and 11 touchdowns, ranking as the overall TE1 in full-PPR leagues. He has now been a top-two fantasy tight end in back-to-back seasons, and with Brissett due back next year, McBride remains a top fantasy option at his position. Of course, the markets have adjusted and McBride no longer comes at a discount. He's priced as one of the top tight ends in fantasy football and will likely have a second-round ADP in most leagues next summer. From a dynasty perspective, he should be held in all leagues. He's too expensive to buy low, but too young and talented to sell high.

Trey McBride Profiles as the Top Tight End in Fantasy After Dominant 2025 Season

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride earned first-team All-Pro honors after setting the all-time single-season reception record by a tight end in his banner 2025 season. Across 17 games, the 26-year-old recorded 126 catches for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns on 169 targets. McBride was the number one scoring tight end in fantasy football in 2025, and given his age, he projects to continue his dominance for at least the next few seasons. The Cardinals are reportedly looking to trade quarterback Kyler Murray this offseason, which means McBride could be facing another season of uncertainty under center in Arizona. However, McBride proved he could be highly productive even with career backup Jacoby Brissett throwing him passes this past season. Heading into 2026, McBride looks like the clear fantasy TE1 in both redraft and dynasty formats.
