Elijah Higgins Fantasy Stats

Arizona Cardinals tight end Elijah Higgins has seen an increased role on offense over the last few weeks. Over the last two games, Higgins has hauled in five of his six targets for 49 yards. Despite that, he remains the backup to Trey McBride, who is one of the best tight ends in the league. It's possible that Higgins does see a slightly larger workload with Marvin Harrison Jr. (appendix) out in Week 11. Normally, Higgins has been playing about 40 percent of the offensive snaps. There's a chance that does increase, but probably not by too much. Higgins is a desperation deep league option for the Week 11 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

Filling in for the injured Trey McBride (concussion), Higgins had a favorable matchup against a Commanders defense that has struggled in pass coverage this season. However, he failed to capitalize, as the Cardinals managed just 142 passing yards despite shifting to a pass-heavy game script. Although Higgins was on the field most of the snaps, there seemed to be no emphasis on getting him the ball. Given his limited involvement in this opportunity, Higgins remains a long shot as a streaming option next week against the San Francisco 49ers.

Arizona Cardinals tight end Elijah Higgins caught an 18-yard touchdown pass in their 41-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. On a play early in the second quarter, quarterback Kyler Murray evaded four would-be tacklers and then launched an 18-yard strike to Higgins, who made a sliding catch in the back of the end zone to reel in the throw. The score was the third touchdown in as many drives to start the game for the Cardinals. Higgins played 36 of Arizona's 66 offensive snaps but did not see another target. With Trey McBride firmly entrenched as the team's top tight end, Higgins can't be relied on to be a viable fantasy asset week-to-week. Despite the impressive reception, he can be left on the wire for Week 3 when the Cardinals host the Detroit Lions.

Arizona Cardinals rookie tight end Elijah Higgins caught 4-of-4 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown in the team's 45-29 Week 15 loss to the 49ers. He found the end zone late in the game for his first career touchdown to make the final score a tad bit closer, but by then it was too little too late. A 6-foot-3, 235-pound rookie behemoth out of Stanford, Higgins is currently nestled behind starter Trey McBride on the team's depth chart. While he has excellent speed for his size and good hands, at this point he's nothing more than a handcuff for McBride and currently remains off the fantasy radar. Higgins and the rest of the Arizona offense will take on the Chicago Bears in Week 16.
