Indianapolis Colts defensive back JuJu Brents (knee) has been placed on the injured reserve on Tuesday. It appears the young corner has suffered a season-ending knee injury. The organization isn't sure of the specifics of the injury, but it sounds like Brents is done for the season. This is a tough blow for the former second-round pick that only played in nine games last season due to injury. The Colts could be in a tough spot here without a ton of viable options in the secondary. It's likely that Samuel Womack or Dallis Flowers gets an extended look, but the loss of Brents is certainly a downgrade for this defensive unit.
Indianapolis Colts cornerback Juju Brents (quad) and linebacker E.J. Speed (knee) have both been downgraded to out ahead of Sunday's Week 14 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Both players were listed as questionable on Friday's injury report but have since been downgraded to out. Their absence should provide a small boost to the Bengals' skill players on Sunday.
Indianapolis Colts rookie cornerback Julius Brents (wrist) was unable to take part in last weekend's rookie minicamp, but the second-round pick should be able to participate in workouts when training camp begins at the end of July. The Colts took quarterback Anthony Richardson in the first round, but Brents might have the best odds of becoming an immediate starter in his rookie season. The Colts traded cornerback Stephon Gilmore to Dallas and lost Brandon Facyson in free agency. "There are not a lot of guys 6-(foot)-3 playing corner in the league, but he is a really good athlete," general manager Chris Ballard said. "He's a really good fit for what we want to do because he's a press corner. We do want to play a little more press coverage. We think he's going to be really good at it."
