Jordyn Brooks News
According to Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, linebacker Jordyn Brooks (knee) has a "long, long future" with the team. "We love the way he plays and what he brings and all of that," stated Carroll during a radio interview. "The decision we made now, this is not an indication of our future. We expect Jordyn to be with us for a long time." The 25-year-old compiled 402 total tackles (247 solo), 12 passes defensed, and two sacks in 47 regular season games for the Seahawks. However, the club didn't exercise his fifth-year option, so he'll be entering the final year of his rookie deal. Brooks expects to be ready for Week 1 after undergoing ACL surgery. But he'll need to stay healthy if he hopes to land a long-term agreement with Seattle.
Seattle Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks (knee) hasn't ruled out a return for Week 1. Brooks is only three months removed from ACL surgery after suffering the injury in Week 17. It seems unlikely that Brooks would be able to return that quickly, but it sounds like he is ahead of schedule. It's hard to imagine the Seahawks pushing Brooks too hard with Devin Bush and Bobby Wagner on the roster. The team should be fine at linebacker with Bush and Wagner holding it down until Brooks is ready to return. The fact Brooks is aiming for a Week 1 return is a good sign in his recovery process.
Seattle Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks (knee) is unlikely to be ready for the beginning of next season. The 25-year-old tore his ACL on New Year's Day, which means he probably won't be back until late in the season, assuming he returns at all in 2023. Recently, Seahawks general manager John Schneider compared Brooks' timetable to Jon Rhattigan. In December of 2021, Rhattigan tore his ACL and didn't return until December of 2022. The absence of Brooks is certainly going to hurt considering he's recorded back-to-back 160-plus tackle seasons. The Seahawks do have Devin Bush and Bobby Wagner to help fill the void. Early reports says Brooks is making good progress, so maybe he'll be able to play at some point next season.
