Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Ryan Miller was active during Saturday's preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans. Miller hauled in six of his seven targets for 66 yards in the blowout victory. The Bucs didn't play a majority of their starters for long in this game. Both Jalen McMillan and Emeka Egbuka each saw two targets. Miller is fighting for a role as a depth player to start the season. The 25-year-old hauled in 12 receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games with the Bucs last season. He figures to serve as a depth option which won't offer much fantasy value when the team is healthy.

The Furman product has not been a dependable fantasy option this season, but he has shown promise at times. In Week 8, he converted five targets into three receptions. The next week, he caught his first career touchdown. One week later, he played 85 percent of the snaps. As the Buccaneers scrambled to replace Chris Godwin (ankle), Miller was one of the candidates to get more involved, but he's still a few rungs below players like Jalen McMillan, Sterling Shepard, and Trey Palmer in the pecking order.

The 24-year-old caught the critical one-yard touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield at the end of the fourth quarter that helped send the game into overtime, although the Bucs would go on to lose 30-24. The Furman product has received more playing time since the Bucs have been without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, hauling in three of five targets in Week 8's loss to the Falcons, now with a total of five catches on the year. The rookie receiver does not warrant a roster spot, however, could be a DFS dart throw again if Jalen McMillan misses another game or until red zone darling Mike Evans returns.
