Kevin Coleman Jr. in the Right Place for Opportunities

Wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. (knee) was the Miami Dolphins' third pass-catcher picked in this year's NFL draft, and although he has plenty to prove in a rebuilding organization, he certainly landed in one of the most wide-open WR corps in the NFL. The 22-year-old tore his ACL last November and isn't a lock to be ready for the start of his first year in the NFL this fall, putting him off the radar entirely in 2026 redraft fantasy leagues. In three collegiate seasons at Louisville, Mississippi State, and Missouri, he caught 166 passes for 2,206 yards and nine total touchdowns in 39 games played as primarily a slot receiver at 5-foot-10, 179 pounds. Coleman's injury and subpar 40-yard dash (4.49 seconds) dropped him all the way to the sixth round (177th overall), behind both fellow rookies Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell. There is plenty of opportunity in Miami, with Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, and Malik Washington currently serving as the team's top-three wideouts. Durability will be a concern for Coleman, but if he can stay on the field, he could challenge Washington for playing time sooner rather than later in South Beach. RotoBaller has Coleman ranked as the No. 108 WR in dynasty/keeper formats for the upcoming campaign.

Dolphins Select Kevin Coleman Jr. with 177th Pick

The Miami Dolphins have selected Missouri wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. with the 177th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. He has played for four teams in as many seasons, beginning his collegiate career with Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders, and coach Deion Sanders at FCS Jackson State. Coleman has a slender build, but he moves smoothly and reaches top speed quickly. He profiles as one of the purest slot-only receivers in this draft class, which will put him at a disadvantage in finding the field in heavier packages. The Dolphins had one of the weakest wide receiver rooms in the league after trading away Jaylen Waddle, and they have now spent three picks at the position after selecting Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell in the third round. Coleman offers a completely different skillset, but he will have to wrestle snaps away from veteran Malik Washington to gain any true fantasy relevance.

Kevin Coleman Jr. Delivers Mid-Range Results in Most Drills

Missouri wide receiver KEvin Coleman Jr. had a modest performance at the NFL scouting combine, trying to sneak into the conversation as a potential Day 2 pick. Most mock drafts seem to have Coleman being selected on Day 3, and he likely needed a better Combine to significantly bump up his projected selection. In the end, Coleman had a 4.49-second 40-yard dash (24th out of 34 wide receivers) and a 10-foot, six-inch broad jump (18th out of 25 wide receivers). He ranks as the #41 rookie in RotoBaller's latest superflex dynasty leagues for football in 2026. The stats are a little more encouraging, as Coleman finished the year with 732 yards and nine touchdowns. He is a projected fourth-round pick and, at best, will be an end-of-draft option for many dynasty managers.
