Kyle Monangai Maintaining Role in Bears Offense

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai has taken on a significant role in the team's backfield over the second half of the season. The rookie seventh-rounder posted only one game with more than 10 carries over the first eight weeks of the season, but has cleared that mark in five out of six games since Week 9. Monangai has working in tandem with D'Andre Swift and has been a key part of one of the best rushing attacks in the league. The workloads between the two backs have been similar since Week 9, with Monangai averaging 16.3 touches per game to Swift at 16.6. Swift earns more work as a receiver, while Monangai's bruising running style has granted him more opportunities near the goal line. The Rutgers product has a tough matchup on Sunday against a stout Cleveland Browns run defense, but Monangai can still be viewed as a viable flex play in Week 15.

Kyle Monangai Remains a Viable Flex Option in Week 15

In the second half of the 2025 season, Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai has emerged as a consistent feature of his team's offense. Across his last six games, the 23-year-old has recorded 462 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 93 carries. Monangai is rarely utilized in the passing game and remains in a split backfield with Bears veteran back D'Andre Swift, limiting his production upside. Additionally, he'll face a difficult matchup in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns. Entering Sunday, Cleveland ranks fourth among all NFL defenses in yards per carry allowed (3.8) and tied for fifth in rushing touchdowns allowed (nine). Still, the Bears have been running the football extremely well in recent weeks and rank second in the NFL in total rushing yards this season (1,984). Monangai profiles as a high-end flex option for fantasy managers in Week 15.

Kyle Monangai Emerging as Weekly Fantasy Option?

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai has earned a sizable role in the team's backfield alongside D'Andre Swift. Monangai and Swift both have exactly 60 carries each over the past four games, with Monangai totaling 258 yards and three touchdowns and Swift having 293 yards and one touchdown. The duo's skill sets complement each other well in a Chicago running game that has proven to be one of the best in the league. The rookie seventh-rounder ranks as the RB20 during that four-game span, averaging 12.3 PPR points per game. Monangai should continue to receive a healthy workload and touchdown opportunities in a strong Bears offense with head coach Ben Johnson pulling the strings. He profiles as a viable flex option in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns.

Kyle Monangai Can Give Your RB Depth a Boost

Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai is getting enough work to be a solid pickup from the waiver wire if you need running back help this week. Against the Packers in Week 14, Monangai played 29 snaps (41%) and finished with a team-high 14 carries for 57 yards while adding one catch for no yards as well. He didn't find the end zone this week, snapping a four-game scoring streak. He has gotten double-digit carries in four straight games and is splitting work just about evenly with starting running back D'Andre Swift. Monangai and the Bears face a tough Browns defense this week, but Tony Pollard just had a huge game against them last week, so there's still enough upside in playing Monangai that he should be owned in almost all formats as one of the top second running backs in the league.

Kyle Monangai a Strong Fantasy Starter Despite Tough Matchup

Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai remains the No. 2 option on the depth chart behind D'Andre Swift, but he should still be viewed as a high-end RB3/flex with additional upside heading into Sunday's Week 14 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. The Bears have emerged as a run-heavy offense, allowing both Monangai and Swift to carry fantasy relevance in any given week. Now, with wide receiver Rome Odunze (foot) inactive, Chicago may be more motivated than ever to run the football early and often. Monangai handled 22 carries last week, and we would not be surprised to see him register at least another 15-20 rushing attempts this week. A matchup against the Packers' run defense isn't ideal, but Monangai's impressive efficiency so far this year (4.88 YPC) should be enough to counteract the effect of Green Bay's defense. He ranks as the overall RB25 in this week's RotoBaller fantasy rankings.

Kyle Monangai Off Injury Report, Has Starting Value Against Packers

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai (ankle) is off the injury report and good to go in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers. The 2025 seventh-round pick has been a breakout star for the Bears' rushing attack. In his last seven games, Monangai has averaged 15 attempts for 79.8 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 13.2 PPR points per game during that stretch. Despite entering the season as an afterthought behind D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson, Monangai has garnered a 46% snap share in the past three games. A tough matchup is on the way in Week 14, as the Packers have allowed the seventh-fewest rushing yards in the NFL this season. With all the bye weeks and countless injuries around the NFL, fantasy managers can feel comfortable starting Monangai as a low-end RB2 this week.

Kyle Monangai Limited in Practice Thursday

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai (ankle) was upgraded to a limited participant in Thursday's practice session after missing Wednesday, according to the team's official website. Monangai returned to practice on Thursday and should be good to go for Sunday's pivotal matchup against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The rookie seventh-rounder has scored in four consecutive games and has emerged as a viable flex play in Chicago's dominant run game. Monangai has totalled 53 carries for 229 yards and four touchdowns, along with one reception (three targets) for 14 yards over the past four games as he splits carries with D'Andre Swift.

Kyle Monangai's Hot Streak at Risk After Missing Wednesday's Practice

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai (ankle) has been a nice surprise for fantasy managers this season. In his last seven games, Monangai has averaged 15 attempts for 79.8 yards and five touchdowns, totalling 13.2 PPR points per game. While the rookie has become a key part of the Bears' rushing attack, he did not practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, which could end his four-game streak of rushing touchdowns. The Bears played on Friday, so Monangai not being ready to practice five days later is concerning for his Week 14 outlook. The Bears face the division rival Green Bay Packers in Week 14, and with cold and snowy conditions possible, Monangai's power running style will be crucial this weekend. Thursday and Friday's practice reports will be important to monitor in determining Monangai's availability in Week 14.

Kyle Monangai Misses Practice With Ankle Injury

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai (ankle) was a non-participant on Wednesday due to an ankle injury. It's the first time that Monangai has been on the injury report with an ankle injury since back in Week 10. The Bears could be giving the 23-year-old some extra rest this week, but it's a situation to monitor closely for fantasy managers ahead of the team's big Week 14 divisional matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Monangai has seen double-digit carries in five of the last seven weeks for the Bears as he becomes a much bigger part of their offense. In last week's win over the Eagles, the seventh-rounder had 22 carries for 130 yards and a touchdown to bump his TD streak up to four straight games. If his ankle injury is serious enough to make him limited or keep him out entirely this weekend, D'Andre Swift would have clear RB1 upside as Chicago's workhorse RB.

Kyle Monangai Emerging as the Lead Rusher in Chicago

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai delivered a statement performance in his team's massive Week 13 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, recording 130 rushing yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Monangai has been stealing touches away from veteran Bears back D'Andre Swift for multiple weeks, but Week 13 may signal a more permanent shift in the Chicago backfield. Monangai has now earned more carries than Swift in back-to-back weeks, although it's worth noting that Swift also dominated against Philadelphia with 125 rushing yards and a touchdown on 18 attempts. Monangai's ceiling is limited by his lack of receiving work, as he's failed to record a catch in three out of his last four games. Still, the rookie is averaging 4.9 yards per carry this season and appears to be emerging as the lead rusher in an increasingly impressive Chicago offense. Monangai is a must-add player off the waiver wire in fantasy leagues where he remains available heading into a Week 14 showdown against the Green Bay Packers.
