L'Jarius Sneed News
Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L'Jarius Sneed (knee) was upgraded to a full practice on Friday and was removed from the final injury report for the Super Bowl. He will play in Sunday's big game against the Philadelphia Eagles, which could be bad news for Eagles receiver A.J. Brown. Sneed suffered a concussion in the AFC Championship win against the Cincinnati Bengals. He cleared the league's concussion protocol early this week but picked up a minor knee injury in practice on Thursday. The 26-year-old should play his regular role in the Chiefs secondary while trying to slow either Brown or DeVonta Smith. During the regular season, Sneed had a career-high 108 tackles (75 solo), five tackles for loss, five QB hits, 3.5 sacks and three interceptions. He'll have to play well to slow down Jalen Hurts and company.
Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L'Jarius Sneed (knee) was limited in practice on Thursday, but he should be OK to play this Sunday in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles. Sneed cleared the league's concussion protocol and practiced in full from Monday through Wednesday, but he picked up a knee injury that slowed him down on Thursday. As long as the 26-year-old is able to practice on Friday, he should be active for the Chiefs in the big game. But if he's slowed at all this weekend, rookie Joshua Williams could see extra snaps in KC's secondary. Sneed typically covers the opponent's top wideout, so if healthy, he should see a lot of A.J. Brown in the Super Bowl. Check back on Friday for Sneed's official designation.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that cornerback L'Jarius Sneed (concussion) is in the league's concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in the 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship on Sunday. Sneed usually covers the opposing team's top wide receiver, so his status for the Super Bowl in two weeks will be one to monitor. The 26-year-old left the game in the first quarter and never returned, but the Chiefs secondary was still able to keep the Bengals' high-powered offense in check. If he's able to clear the protocol and play in the Super Bowl, Sneed will most likely be tasked with shutting down Philadelphia Eagles pass-catcher A.J. Brown on the outside.
