Cameron Ward Should Throw at Minicamp

Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said that it's "trending" toward second-year quarterback Cameron Ward (shoulder) throwing in the team's upcoming minicamp, according to Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com. Ward ended his lackluster rookie campaign in 2025 with an AC joint sprain in his right (throwing) shoulder in the Week 18 regular-season finale, but he's expected to be fine by the start of training camp and the 2026 regular-season opener in early September. The 23-year-old former first overall pick last year out of the University of Miami completed 59.8% of his passes in his rookie season while throwing for just 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 17 starts. Ward led the Titans to a 3-14 record while also carrying the ball 39 times for 159 yards and two touchdowns as a rusher. It's a good time to buy low on him in dynasty leagues, as he could see Year 2 improvement under new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll with new receiver Wan'Dale Robinson in town to help the passing attack. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues should consider Ward a low-end QB2 target with upside.

Cameron Ward Working in the Building, Making Good Progress

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cameron Ward (shoulder) has been "progressing very well" from a right shoulder injury that required offseason rehab, head coach Robert Saleh told Jim Wyatt of the team's official website. Saleh also noted that Ward has consistently been working in the building, sometimes on his own. It was a rookie season to forget for the No. 1 pick, who finished the 2025 campaign with just 3,169 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also took an NFL-high 55 sacks and lost seven fumbles. The turnover-to-touchdown ratio was far from ideal, and Ward will look to play cleaner football next season. He should benefit from an improved offense that now features wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson. We also expect Gunnar Helm, Elic Ayomanor, and Chimere Dike to make significant second-year leaps. It's too early to proclaim Ward will be fantasy relevant across the board, but as he continues to recover amid his first full offseason in the NFL, he's certainly trending up.

Cameron Ward's Mechanical Tweaks are Focused on his Footwork

Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh said that the mechanical tweaks for quarterback Cameron Ward will be focused on his footwork, as opposed to his throwing motion, according to Turron Davenport of ESPN. Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll also acknowledged that he doesn't want to mess with Ward's throwing mechanics too much, as different QBs have different throwing motions. Unsurprisingly, Ward, the first overall pick last year out of the University of Miami, struggled in his first year in the NFL with the Titans. The 23-year-old completed under 60% of his 540 pass attempts for 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 17 starts. He added 39 rushing attempts for 159 yards and two more scores. Although he did injure his right shoulder in the series finale, Ward should be just fine for Week 1 of the 2026 campaign. Ward could be an intriguing QB2 with upside in his sophomore season if his mechanics lead to better accuracy on the field with a new receiving weapon in wideout Wan'Dale Robinson.

Cameron Ward Cleared to Throw the Football

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cameron Ward (shoulder) has been cleared to throw the football this offseason after suffering a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder in the Week 18 regular-season finale, according to Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network. Last month, the Titans focused on Ward's lower body and his footwork, but now he's been cleared to throw. Wolfe says that Ward "should be good to go" for offseason workouts with the rest of the team as he looks to improve going into Year 2 in 2026. The former University of Miami star wants to get ahead this offseason and learn new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll's system. The Titans are optimistic that Daboll will allow Ward to be the playmaker that he is, similar to what he did for Josh Allen in Buffalo. Fantasy managers will be more cautiously optimistic in redraft leagues this fall, but Ward has weapons in place to make a sophomore jump. Treat him as a low-end QB2 in drafts later this year, but with plenty of upside for more.

Cameron Ward "Recovering Well" From Shoulder Injury

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cameron Ward (shoulder) is "recovering well" from his right-shoulder AC sprain that he suffered in the Week 18 regular-season finale, according to Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network. Ward has been working with the team's quarterbacks coach on his lower body, and the plan is for him to resume throwing the football in March. Before he resumes throwing, the Titans want to work on the former first overall pick's base after he picked up some bad habits in his rookie season. The 23-year-old is excited to work with new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and believes he'll allow him to be the playmaker he was in college at the University of Miami. Wolfe says that Daboll and Ward hit it off during the pre-draft process last year, and Daboll tried to trade up to get Ward as the Giants' head coach. Time will tell if Daboll will help in Ward's development. He predictably struggled in Year 1 in a Tennessee offense without many high-end weapons. Going into Year 2, Ward will be a low-end QB2 target in fantasy with upside.

Shoulder Injury hasn't Impacted Cameron Ward's Offseason Training

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cameron Ward (shoulder) sprained his right shoulder in the Week 18 regular-season finale, but the injury has not impacted his offseason training since he has been working mostly on footwork. However, ESPN's Turron Davenport writes that Ward's rehab, paired with learning offensive coordinator Brian Daboll's new offense, will likely be a challenge. The Titans are hoping that Daboll can help Ward make a Year 2 jump after he helped Bills QB Josh Allen go from a raw rookie to an All-Pro. Ward showed flashes in his first year in the NFL and finished on a high note, but overall, he was too inconsistent and struggled with accuracy. The first overall pick in 2025 completed 59.8% of his passes for 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while adding 159 rushing yards and two TDs in 17 starts. The good news is that Ward's throwing shoulder should be 100% for training camp this summer.

Titans Could Give Cameron Ward More RPOs Under New Offensive Coordinator

The Tennessee Titans are hoping that new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll will help young quarterback Cam Ward, who struggled in his first year in the NFL after the Titans took him first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. During Daboll's time in New England under Bill Belichick, he learned the Erhardt-Perkins system, which employs a concept-based passing scheme and runs to set up the pass. ESPN's Turron Davenport points out that Daboll has also used play-action, with vertical passing concepts, which match Ward's skill set. Ward had plenty of success using run-pass-option plays in college, and the Giants used RPOs at a 12.6% rate last year under Daboll, the fourth-highest rate in the league. The 23-year-old plans to clean up his mechanics after throwing for 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in his first 17 games. Ward must fix his accuracy issues to take the next step, but he should be in good hands with Daboll.

Cameron Ward "Doing Well" in his Shoulder Rehab

Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said that quarterback Cameron Ward (shoulder) is "doing well" as he rehabs a right-shoulder injury that he suffered in the Week 18 regular-season finale, according to Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com. It's unclear yet if Ward will be ready for the start of organized team activities in the spring after the 23-year-old suffered an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Barring some sort of setback, though, he should be fully recovered well before training camp, the preseason, and the 2026 regular season. The first overall pick in last year's draft started all 17 games in his rookie season and completed 59.8% of his passes for 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions to finish as the QB22 in fantasy. Ward added 159 yards and two TDs on the ground while also fumbling a whopping 11 times (seven lost) and taking a league-high 55 sacks. The Miami product must improve his accuracy, but working with new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll should be seen as a plus. Consider him a low-end QB2 with upside going into his second year in the NFL.

Cameron Ward Won't Need Surgery on his Shoulder

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cameron Ward (shoulder) suffered an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Week 18 regular-season finale, but he will not require surgery, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. It's the best-case scenario for the young QB heading into the offseason. Ward suffered the injury while diving for a touchdown in the first quarter of Sunday's game, and he never returned. The 23-year-old former first overall pick will be rehabbing for a few months, but barring a setback, he should be recovered well before the start of training camp and the preseason. The Miami product started for the Titans all season in his first year in the NFL and predictably struggled, completing 59.8% of his pass attempts for 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He added 39 rushing attempts for 159 yards and two TDs. Ward could be up and down again in Year 2 as he continues to develop, especially since he'll be learning a new offense under a new head coach.

Cameron Ward Believed to Have Grade 3 AC Joint Sprain in Right Shoulder

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cameron Ward (shoulder) is believed to have suffered a Grade 3 AC joint sprain in his right shoulder during the team's Week 18 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, per Jeff Howe of The Athletic. Ward exited the game in the first quarter after being landed on by a Jacksonville defender. While Tennessee's 2025 season has come to a close, Ward may now face a lengthy rehab process throughout the offseason. Across 17 games as a rookie, the 23-year-old completed 59.8% of his pass attempts for 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Ward also rushed for 159 yards and two scores. The Titans will pair Ward with a new head coach in 2026 after firing former head coach Brian Callahan in mid-October. Ward still carries significant upside for the future, but it appears he will have to overcome a substantial shoulder injury as he heads into his second season.
