Titans Select Nicholas Singleton at No. 165 Overall

The Tennessee Titans have selected Penn State running back prospect Nicholas Singleton with the 165th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Singleton exploded for 1,474 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2024, and while his yardage was nearly cut in half last season, he still found the end zone 14 times. He's a solid receiver but does most of his work as a ball-carrier, showcasing an ability to find gaps at the line of scrimmage and rack up extra yardage. He's the all-time touchdowns leader at Penn State, surpassing Saquon Barkley by two scores. There's a path for him to earn immediate playing time in Tennessee. Pollard is 28 years old and heading into a contract season, so the Titans may look to shift some of his workload to Singleton in preparation for the future. Meanwhile, Tyjae Spears should remain nestled into a third-down role, staying away from most of the early-down work. After proving that he was capable of producing in the Big 10, Singleton will now make the leap to the NFL as a potential steal in fantasy football rookie drafts.

Nicholas Singleton Likely a Day 3 Pick?

Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton cooled off during his final season at school, but he remains an impact prospect heading into this week's NFL Draft. Singleton was a four-year contributor at Penn State, but his worst season was his senior year, which resulted in his draft stock dropping significantly. He had 4,448 scrimmage yards and 54 touchdowns at school, but just 768 scrimmage yards (albeit with 14 touchdowns) last season. It's unlikely that Singleton will be an every-down back in the NFL, but he still has high scoring upside and could be an impact fantasy option. As it stands, he's a projected Day 3 pick in the draft. From a fantasy perspective, he's the RB7 among rookies and the overall RB39 in dynasty leagues. He's presumably in play for more than half the teams in the NFL, so his landing spot could shift where he ranks in fantasy football.

Nicholas Singleton a Mid-Round Pick with Upside

Penn State running back prospect Nicholas Singleton projects as a mid-round pick in this week's NFL Draft, but he has additional upside that could make him a sleeper in 2026 rookie fantasy football drafts. Singleton was a standout running back during all four years of school, including his freshman season in 2022, when he totaled 1,146 scrimmage yards and 13 touchdowns. His best season was 2024, as he exploded for 1,099 rushing yards, 375 receiving yards, and 17 total touchdowns. Singleton leaves Penn State with a whopping 54 NCAA touchdowns to his name, and he should continue to be a scoring threat in the NFL. While he should get plenty of goal-line opportunities, there's a little less optimism about his ability to rack up yardage or occupy an every-down role. That's why he'll be more of a mid-round pick than an early-round pick. As a result, he's likely going to fall to the second round of rookie fantasy football drafts. As it stands, he ranks No. 22 overall (and No. 7 among running backs) in RotoBaller's latest rookie rankings. However, he has top-10 rookie upside if he ends up in a landing spot where he'll be able to handle double-digit touches per game.
