John Franklin-Myers Inks Three-Year Deal With Titans

The Tennessee Titans have signed defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers to a three-year, $63 million contract, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL.com. Franklin-Myers was a fourth-round pick in 2018, and he has enjoyed breakout years with both the New York Jets and Denver Broncos. Most recently, in 2025, he was a Bronco, racking up 7.5 sacks and 25 tackles across 16 games (15 starts). He has a pre-existing connection to current Titans head coach Robert Saleh, who was also his head coach with the Jets. $21 million per year is a hefty payday for someone who has never tallied eight sacks in a single season, but he was reportedly the Titans' top target in free agency, and they had to beat out the San Francisco 49ers in a bidding war to get him.

Broncos Not Expected to Re-Sign John Franklin-Myers

The Denver Broncos are not expected to re-sign defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers, a source told Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette. Franklin-Myers is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next Wednesday. There have not been any contract discussions with the 29-year-old pass-rusher since the end of the 2025 season. The former fourth-round selection by the Los Angeles Rams in 2018 out of Stephen F. Austin had a productive two years in Denver, totaling 14.5 sacks, 65 tackles (30 solo), 14 tackles for loss, and 33 QB hits in 33 regular-season games (31 starts). Franklin-Myers ranked third on the Broncos in sacks and was a big reason why they led the league in that department in 2025. He should have a healthy market in free agency among NFL teams looking to improve their pass rush in 2026 and beyond.

John Franklin-Myers, Baron Browning Injured On Sunday

Denver Broncos defensive end John Franklin-Myers (concussion) was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's meeting with the Steelers. Meanwhile, linebacker Baron Browning (foot) is questionable to return. Franklin-Myers had 19.5 career sacks before he was traded by the Jets this offseason. At the same time, Browning is also a potent pass-rusher, entering the 2024-25 campaign by amassing 9.5 sacks in the previous two seasons. With the Broncos defense already struggling, these injuries aren't good news for containing quarterback Justin Fields and the rest of the Steelers offense for the rest of the game.

Broncos Acquire John Franklin-Myers From Jets

The Denver Broncos acquired defensive end John Franklin-Myers from the New York Jets on Saturday in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2026, according to sources. It's the second trade these two teams have pulled off in the last week, with the Jets also sending former first-round quarterback Zach Wilson to Denver. Franklin-Myers, a former fourth-rounder by the Los Angeles Rams in 2018 out of Stephen F. Austin, started 52 games for the Jets in the last four seasons and racked up 56 solo tackles, 17.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, 61 QB hits, one interception, seven passes defended, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in that span. The 27-year-old should immediately become a starting edge rusher for the Broncos in 2024, but he won't be on the IDP fantasy radar with a career-high six-sack season coming back in 2021.

Jets, John Franklin-Myers Reach Contract Extension

The New York Jets and defensive end John Franklin-Myers agreed to an undisclosed four-year contract extension on Thursday, according to sources. He will now be under contract with the team through the 2025 season. Franklin-Myers has 15 tackles (seven solo), five quarterback hits, a forced fumble and three sacks in four starts this season in his third year in the NFL. In his first two seasons with the Jets, the 25-year-old had 14 solo tackles, 13 QB hits, three fumble recoveries and five sacks in 31 games (two starts). Franklin-Myers has seen at least 63 percent of the defensive snaps in each game so far this season, so he's clearly taken on a much bigger role in 2021.
