Free-agent offensive tackle Olisaemeka Udoh is signing with the New Orleans Saints, the team announced on X. The former sixth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft has spent his entire five-year career with the Minnesota Vikings and now heads to The Big Easy to play for Dennis Allen. Udoh has 43 games and 18 starts of NFL experience under his belt, but he's likely to be a backup tackle for New Orleans in 2024. He played under new Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak while in Minnesota in 2019 and 2020.
Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Oli Udoh (knee) was carted off with a knee injury in the Week 2 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football. Left tackle Christian Darrisaw was active for the Vikings in this game, but Udoh got the start over him on quarterback Kirk Cousins' blind side as the team looks to ease Darrisaw into the fold. When Udoh left in the fourth quarter, David Quessenberry took over at left tackle. The Vikings have extra time before their Week 3 game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night, but Udoh could be dealing with a serious injury. It would be surprising if Darrisaw wasn't starting at left tackle for the Vikings as they look to win their first game of the 2023 season.
