Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals defensive back Sean Murphy-Bunting (neck) and defensive tackle Roy Lopez (ankle) will not suit up in Week 8 to face the Miami Dolphins. Bunting was unable to practice all week due to a neck injury he suffered in last week's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Lopez was also unable to practice all week. Both defenders will hope to return in Week 9 to face the Chicago Bears. As a result, Starling Thomas, Garrett Williams, and Max Melton will see most of the snaps at cornerback while Khyiris Tonga will start at defensive tackle.

Cardinals Agree With Sean Murphy-Bunting
The Arizona Cardinals agreed to terms with free-agent cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting on an undisclosed deal on Monday, according to a source. The former second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will now head to the desert to try and fortify a struggling defense after spending one year with the Tennessee Titans. Last year with Tennessee, Murphy-Bunting had 57 tackles (42 solo), two interceptions, eight passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 14 starts. The Cardinals added to all levels of their defense on Monday as they look to bolster a defense that was routinely carved up by opposing quarterbacks last year. The 26-year-old Murphy-Bunting should be expected to start across from Garrett Williams in Arizona's secondary in 2024, but he won't really be on the IDP radar.

Titans Finalizing Deal With Sean Murphy-Bunting
The Tennessee Titans are finalizing a one-year deal worth up to $5 million with free-agent cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting on Monday, according to sources. Murphy-Bunting is only 25 years old and has already won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his fourth year in the NFL in 2022, he had 31 tackles (19 solo), two interceptions, seven passes defensed and a forced fumble in 12 games (five starts). Murphy-Bunting should serve in a starting role with his new team in 2023. In his four NFL seasons combined, he has produced 188 tackles (139 solo), one sack, six tackles for loss, six interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 21 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 53 games (36 starts).

Eagles
Sean Murphy-Bunting Won't Play Against Eagles
Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (hamstring) is officially inactive for the wild-card playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Murphy-Bunting was a limited practice participant all week, but his hamstring was bothering him during pre-game warmups, so he will not suit up. The good news is that cornerback Carlton Davis (back) will play after coming into Sunday's game questionable. Murphy-Bunting has been a starter for Tampa's secondary when healthy, but he has played in only nine games (eight starts) this year, recording 43 tackles (30 solo) and a forced fumble. The Buccaneers secondary is their weakness on defense, but the Eagles were the leading rushing attack in the NFL this year, so it will be interesting to see how they attack the Bucs defense.

Sean Murphy-Bunting, Jamel Dean Go On COVID-19 List
Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerbacks Sean Murphy-Bunting and Jamel Dean were both placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday, bringing the total number of Buccaneers players and coaches on the list to seven. Safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (foot) was inactive last Saturday in the win over the Cleveland Browns, so if he misses another game, Tampa's secondary could be extremely thin if Murphy-Bunting and Dean aren't eligible to play in Week 17 against the New York Jets. The Buccaneers defense/special teams is going to be attractive in fantasy leagues regardless this weekend because of the matchup alone, but New York could take advantage of the Bucs short-handed secondary, especially if rookie receiver Elijah Moore and veteran pass-catcher Jamison Crowder return from injuries.

Cowboys
Sean Murphy-Bunting Won't Return Against Cowboys
After exiting early with an apparent elbow injury, Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive back Sean Murphy-Bunting won't return to Thursday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. He was injured while trying to tackle Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who scored a touchdown on the play. Murphy-Bunting is a key piece of this Buccaneers defense and had one interception and 70 tackles last season. If he misses time, downgrade Tampa's defense a tad for fantasy purposes.

Broncos
Sean Murphy-Bunting Won't Return Against Denver
Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (groin/hamstring) won't return to Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos. The second-year defensive back has played almost every snap for the Buccaneers Defense this season but has struggled coming into Sunday's game, allowing receptions on nine of the 10 plays where he was targeted. If Murphy-Bunting misses time moving forward, Tampa's defense takes a slight hit, but the talented young corner's 2020 hasn't been good enough for his absence to tank the fantasy value of this defense.
