Dolphins
Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) was limited in practice on Tuesday. Ramsey has been battling the injury since before Week 1 but was able to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Ramsey is one of the defensive pillars for the Dolphins. His absence would significantly affect their ability to cover the Buffalo Bills' wide receivers this coming Thursday. However, given that he was able to play this past week, his limitations in practice are likely precautionary.

Jalen Ramsey Suiting Up In Week 1
Despite a questionable tag, Miami Dolphins All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) is active in the Week 1 regular-season opener on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Hard Rock Stadium. Ramsey's presence in Miami's secondary will make life more difficult for Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The 29-year-old Ramsey signed a new three-year contract extension on Friday to make him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL. Because he had been held out of practices since the middle of August, don't be surprised if the Dolphins keep Ramsey's reps limited in the first game of the 2024 regular season. Ramsey isn't much of an IDP fantasy option, but he's one of the league's best shutdown corners when he's healthy.

Jalen Ramsey Will Attempt To Play On Sunday
Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl defensive back Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) will try to play through his hamstring injury in Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He may be limited in the number of snaps he takes to help reduce the risk of re-aggravating the injury, though, and it's yet to be seen how many. Ramsey missed time last year after suffering a meniscus tear; the Dolphins handed him a three-year, $72.3 million deal. It's safe to assume he can still play at a high level. Ramsey will turn 30 this year, so his best days are likely behind him. However, defensive cornerstone Jaelan Phillips is returning from an Achilles tear, and there are many new pieces and a new defensive coordinator, so there are better D/STs to start this week over the Dolphins.

Jalen Ramsey Questionable To Play In Week 1
Miami Dolphins star cornerback Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) is officially listed as questionable for Week 1 of the regular season this Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium versus the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars. The good news, though, is that Ramsey was able to put in a limited practice on Friday after sitting out both Wednesday and Thursday. The 29-year-old All-Pro corner signed a three-year, $72.3 million contract extension on Friday with Miami, making him the highest-paid corner in the NFL. Ramsey considers himself a game-time decision for Sunday's contest. If he's not active, it will be good news for Jaguars top wideout Christian Kirk. It would also force backup cornerback Ethan Bonner into a starting role in Miami's secondary. Ramsey is a better real-life defensive back than an IDP one.

Jalen Ramsey Signs Three-Year Extension, Becomes Highest-Paid Cornerback
Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) signed a massive three-year extension on Friday, totaling $72.3 million, which makes him the highest-paid cornerback in the sport, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. This deal was negotiated by David Mulugheta of Athletes First. The 29-year-old now once again sits as the highest-paid cornerback just days after Patrick Surtain of the Denver Broncos received his first NFL extension, which put him in the top spot for only a few days. Ramsey was limited to just 10 games of NFL action last season but still made his mark by intercepting three passes and making 22 total tackles. Ramsey is currently battling a hamstring injury and is in danger of missing the season opener. Fantasy managers playing in an IDP league should continue to monitor the 29-year-old's status entering the weekend.

Dolphins "Hopeful" Jalen Ramsey Will Play In Week 1
Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver said that he's "hopeful" that cornerback Jalen Ramsey (calf) will be able to play in the Week 1 matchup on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars. Ramsey has yet to practice with the team this week and has been sidelined since Aug. 12 with his calf injury, so the odds aren't good that the veteran cornerback will be able to play this weekend unless he returns to practice on Friday. The Dolphins face off against the division-rival Buffalo Bills on a short week next Thursday, too, which will most likely very much play into the team's decision to play Ramsey this weekend. Miami's secondary will be much more vulnerable against Trevor Lawrence and company if Ramsey isn't active this Sunday, and it could force rookie corner Storm Duck into meaningful snaps right away.

Jalen Ramsey Still Absent From Practice
Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey (undisclosed) was absent from practice on Wednesday as he continues to deal with an unspecified injury that has affected him for the past few weeks. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel mentioned that Ramsey has been held back for precautionary reasons, stating, "No setbacks... I've never been more proud of a player not practicing." However, McDaniel did not guarantee that the seven-time Pro Bowl selection would be available for the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday. Ramsey missed the first seven games of the 2023 season due to a knee injury sustained early in training camp but still managed to record three interceptions and earn a Pro Bowl nod. If Ramsey cannot play, second-year cornerback Ethan Bonner, who didn't see any defensive snaps during his rookie season but played 11 snaps in the Dolphins' wild-card loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, would be the likely starter. Ramsey's absence would be a significant advantage for quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville receiving corps.

Jalen Ramsey Reworks His Contract
The Miami Dolphins did a conversion on cornerback Jalen Ramsey's contract on Monday to clear $19.912 million in salary cap space. In addition to Ramsey, the Dolphins also restructured the contracts of tight end Durham Smythe, fullback Alec Ingold and defensive tackle Zach Sieler on Monday to get themselves under the 2024 salary cap. The move to convert the 29-year-old Ramsey's contract means that he'll be staying in Miami this year. The seven-time Pro Bowler only played in 10 games due to injury in his first year with the Dolphins in 2023, recording 22 tackles (18 solo), three interceptions and five passes defensed. Miami is going to need Ramsey to stay healthy in 2024 as their top cover corner in the secondary.

Jalen Ramsey Will Play Sunday, Xavien Howard Inactive
Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey (knee) is active for Week 8 against the New England Patriots. He had been listed as questionable after practicing in a limited capacity this past week, but the fact that Miami activated him from injured reserve on Saturday was a clear sign that he'd be able to suit up. All eyes will be on Ramsey as he makes his Dolphins debut at home against a divisional foe. Although Miami's shiny offseason addition is back, the bad news for the Dolphins is that fellow cornerback Xavien Howard (groin) won't be able to suit up on Sunday. Safety Jevon Holland (concussion) is also unavailable this week. Ramsey will have his work cut out for him versus a Mac Jones-led squad fresh off an upset win over Buffalo.

Jalen Ramsey Activated From Injured Reserve
Miami Dolphins defensive back Jalen Ramsey (knee) has been officially activated off the injured reserve on Saturday. The six-time All-Pro is expected to make his team debut versus the New England Patriots in Week 8. The 29-year-old is a difference maker when healthy, so his presence should be a significant boost for this Dolphins defense. The Miami secondary is banged up with Xavien Howard (groin), and safety Jevon Holland (concussion) both questionable for this contest. It appears Ramsey came back at the right time with the Dolphins possibly shorthanded this weekend.
