Jalen Ramsey Ejected from Week 11 Game for Throwing Punch

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey has been ejected for throwing a punch during the fourth quarter of Sunday's Week 11 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. Ramsey was involved in a scuffle with Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase during a timeout. He finishes the game with four tackles and one pass defended. The 31-year-old has been a key piece of the Steelers' defense this season, shifting to safety before Week 10 to help fill the void left by an injury to DeShon Elliott (knee). He continued to play a combination of safety and cornerback in Week 11. After he was thrown out of the game, he was replaced by Brandin Echols, who entered at cornerback after being treated for an ankle issue.

Jalen Ramsey Shifting to Free Safety for Week 9

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey will play free safety during Sunday's Week 9 contest against the Indianapolis Colts, head coach Mike Tomlin told Bob Labriola of the team's official website. Ramsey's position change comes in the wake of the Steelers placing safety DeShon Elliott (knee) on injured reserve and ruling out Jabrill Peppers (quadriceps) and Chuck Clark (illness) for this week. Pittsburgh does have several other safeties who can fill the void, and they added Kyle Dugger via trade last week. However, Tomlin noted that Ramsey is being shifted to safety to offer constant communication and assist some of the new or lesser-experienced defenders. "Given the circumstances, we felt it was prudent to lock him down specifically at free safety, and so he'll be a constant hub of communication to assist [his teammates] in processing and playing," Tomlin said. The 31-year-old has primarily played cornerback this year, but he did log some reps at safety during training camp and the regular season. Through seven games, he has 30 tackles, two sacks, and one interception.

Jalen Ramsey Good to Go Against the Browns

Pittsburgh Steelers veteran cornerback Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) is officially active for Sunday's Week 6 divisional matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Ramsey came into Sunday's game listed as questionable. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday before putting in a full practice on Friday. The 30-year-old defensive back was expected to play after putting in a full practice on Friday. Ramsey will start out of the slot for Pittsburgh's defense in a plus matchup this weekend against Browns rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who will be making just his second NFL start. Coming off Pittsburgh's bye, Ramsey, a seven-time Pro Bowl, has 14 tackles (eight solo), one interception, and four pass breakups in four games played in his first year with the Steelers. Pittsburgh's defense/special teams unit has been disappointing so far in 2025, but it'll be worth a play in fantasy lineups in Week 6.

Jalen Ramsey Expected to Play in Week 6

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) is expected to return in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns. Ramsey suffered the injury during the team's Week 4 win over the Vikings, a game in which he recorded his first interception of the season. The three-time All-Pro will rejoin Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay, in what should be one of the league's top cornerback trios. Ramsey and Porter's return comes at a tough time for Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel and wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, who have struggled to gain traction this season. With Pittsburgh's elite secondary back at full strength, Jeudy could be in for another quiet outing.

Jalen Ramsey Dealing With Hamstring Injury

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that cornerback Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) will be limited in practice at the start of the week on Wednesday, but he could do more later in the week, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor. Tomlin also said that Ramsey has been aggressive in his recovery during the Week 5 bye, and he's encouraged by his status leading into the Week 6 game this Sunday versus the division-rival Cleveland Browns. The 30-year-old veteran defensive back was apparently injured in the Week 4 win in Ireland over the Minnesota Vikings. The team's bye came at a good time, though, and it sounds as though Ramsey has a good chance of playing this Sunday against Cleveland. Through four games so far in 2025, Ramsey has 14 tackles (eight solo), an interception, and four pass breakups.

Jalen Ramsey Could Move Around in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers see new cornerback Jalen Ramsey as an outside corner, a slot corner and potentially as a safety, according to Mark Kaboly. The Steelers acquired Ramsey, tight end Jonnu Smith, and a seventh-round pick in 2027 from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and a fifth-rounder in 2027 on Monday. The presence of cornerbacks Joey Porter and Darius Slay will allow the Steelers to get creative with the 30-year-old Ramsey, who could be more of an IPD fantasy asset if he plays more slot corner and safety in 2025. The former first-rounder and seven-time All-Pro continued to play at a high level last year with the Dolphins, racking up 60 tackles (39 solo), one sack, six tackles for loss, two interceptions and 11 pass breakups in 17 starts. Despite losing Fitzpatrick, the Steelers' secondary should remain strong this year.

Steelers Acquiring Jalen Ramsey

The Pittsburgh Steelers are trading for Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, according to NFL insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport. The seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro selection has been rumored to be on the way out of Miami all offseason, and this situation is finally concluding. Ramsey's adjusted contract includes a $1.5 million raise in 2025, and he will earn $26.6 million this year. The former No. 5 overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars out of Florida State is set to join forces with Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay Jr. in Mike Tomlin's defense. The 30-year-old might not be in his prime anymore, but he's still an effective defensive back who brings an attitude to a stop unit. In 135 career games with the Jaguars, Rams, and Dolphins, Ramsey has tallied 534 tackles (432 solo), 24 interceptions, 108 pass deflections, 25.5 run stuffs, three sacks, and seven forced fumbles.

Jalen Ramsey Prefers to Move to West Coast

ESPN's Adam Schefter said on the Pat McAfee Show on Friday that Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey "would like to go to the West Coast, to Los Angeles -- Rams, Chargers, somewhere like that." The Dolphins have been looking to trade Ramsey since early April due to a relationship that has deteriorated, but nothing has come to fruition yet. The 30-year-old seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro and the Rams have mutual interest in a reunion; Ramsey played in L.A. from 2019-2022 before joining Miami the last two years. He's scheduled to make a fully guaranteed $24.235 million in 2025, and it seems likely the Dolphins will have to eat some of that money to facilitate a trade. A Ramsey trade should happen before training camp starts in roughly a month. Despite being 30, Ramsey is still playing at a high level and would be a big upgrade to a secondary wherever he lands.

Jonnu Smith, Jalen Ramsey Not at Mandatory Minicamp

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith and cornerback Jalen Ramsey are not present for the start of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. Neither Smith nor Ramsey attended voluntary OTAs, either. Smith is seeking a new deal after setting franchise marks at the TE position last year with an 88-884-8 line in 17 games. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are fully expected to trade Ramsey this offseason due to a relationship that has soured. The 29-year-old Smith is heading into the final year of a two-year contract, but he wants to stick around in Miami, so this is something that could get worked out before the start of the 2025 season. Smith's fantasy value as a midrange TE1 will be strongest if he sticks in Miami as one of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's top targets next to wideouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

Jalen Ramsey Not Planning on Attending Mandatory Minicamp

As the Miami Dolphins and star cornerback Jalen Ramsey continue to work on a trade, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Ramsey isn't planning on attending mandatory minicamp this week, according to sources. Nothing is imminent on a Ramsey trade, but the 30-year-old seven-time Pro Bowler appears likely to be playing for a different team come Week 1 this fall. It's not a money issue, but rather a relationship issue with the Dolphins. A return to the Los Angeles Rams is possible for the former fifth overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders could also be in play to land Ramsey. In his second year with the Dolphins last year, Ramsey had 60 tackles (39 solo), a sack, six tackles for loss, two interceptions and 11 pass breakups in 17 starts.
