Brandon Johnson Leads Broncos In Receiving Against Raiders

Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Johnson had four receptions on five targets for a team-high 88 receiving yards in Sunday's 27-14 loss to the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders in the Week 18 regular season finale. Johnson was utilized more in the final few weeks of the year with Courtland Sutton suffering a concussion in Week 16 and with the Broncos benching quarterback Russell Wilson for the final two games due to financial reasons. The 25-year-old pass-catcher concludes his second year in the NFL with 19 catches on 30 targets for 284 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games played. Unless the Broncos decide to trade one of Sutton or Jerry Jeudy this offseason, Johnson will most likely enter his third NFL season as valuable receiving depth for Denver and off the fantasy radar. The Broncos will also have a big question mark under center if they cut ties with Russell Wilson in March, as expected.

Brandon Johnson In Line For Bigger Role In Week 17

With Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton (concussion) ruled out for Week 17 against the Los Angeles Chargers and with Jerry Jeudy (illness) and rookie Marvin Mims Jr. (hamstring) questionable to play, pass-catcher Brandon Johnson will inevitably have a bigger role in the passing game on Sunday. The 25-year-old has only 11 catches on the year for 169 yards, but he's managed to find the end zone four times, including one in the Christmas Eve loss to the New England Patriots after Sutton suffered a concussion. Fantasy managers in standard-sized leagues will probably want to stay away from the Broncos' offense this week despite an excellent matchup. However, Johnson could be busy in a matchup against a Bolts defense that has allowed the third-most half-PPR points per game (33.4) to opposing receivers this year.

Brandon Johnson Activated From Injured Reserve

Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Johnson (hamstring) has been activated from the injured reserve on Saturday. Johnson has been sidelined since Week 8, but appears ready to get back on the field. Before going down, Johnson had eight receptions, for 122 yards, and three touchdowns. The expectation is that he'll slide behind Marvin Mims Jr. on the depth chart. It's uncertain what kind of role Johnson is going to have during his first game back. That being said, Johnson won't be worth a look in most fantasy formats for the Week 13 matchup against the Houston Texans.

Brandon Johnson Practices Fully On Wednesday

Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Johnson (hamstring) practiced fully on Wednesday. Johnson has been on injured reserve since injuring his hamstring back in Week 8 but he was designated to return on Wednesday. His ability to practice fully upon returning is a good sign as the Broncos gear up to face the Houston Texans in Week 13. Denver has three weeks to officially activate Johnson from injured reserve.

Brandon Johnson Placed On Injured Reserve

Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Johnson (hamstring) has been placed on the injured reserve on Saturday. The 25-year-old will miss the next four games while he works his way back from a hamstring injury. His absence shouldn't have a huge impact on the depth chart considering Johnson only had eight receptions in seven games this season. The Broncos have elevated wideout Tre'Quan Smith from the practice squad to take Johnson's spot on the roster. Possibly, the loss of Johnson will open up a bigger opportunity for Marvin Mims Jr. in the receiving game.

Brandon Johnson Finds The End Zone For Third Time

Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Johnson scored one touchdown in his rookie season in 2022 in seven games. Through four weeks of his sophomore campaign, he already has three touchdowns after finding the end zone in the 31-28 comeback win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday in Week 4. Johnson's first two touchdowns came in the same game back in Week 2, when he had two receptions for 66 yards. Against Chicago, the 25-year-old scored on his only target of the game, a four-yard reception that found paydirt. Johnson has had a nose for the end zone so far, but as long as both Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy remain healthy, he's not worth rostering in fantasy outside of the deepest of leagues.

Brandon Johnson Scores Two Touchdowns Against Commanders

Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Johnson caught two of his three targets for 66 yards and two touchdowns -- one was a successful desperation Hail Mary with time expiring in regulation -- in the team's 35-33 loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 2 on Sunday at home. Most of you are wondering exactly who Johnson is. The 25-year-old second-year pass-catcher also caught two passes in the season opener, but they went for 31 yards and he didn't find the end zone. Along with rookie Marvin Mims Jr., Johnson helped quarterback Russell Wilson put up the best numbers through the air in his Broncos tenure deep down the field, but it wasn't enough for the victory. Fantasy managers shouldn't take the bait and consider Johnson to suddenly be on the radar. Both he and Mims are going to need more targets to become weekly lineup considerations, even in deeper leagues.

Brandon Johnson Catches Three Passes Against Cardinals

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Brandon Johnson had an elevated role in the Week 15 contest against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday with both Courtland Sutton (hamstring) and Kendall Hinton (hamstring) unable to play. In the 24-15 victory, Johnson caught three of his four targets for 30 receiving yards. Johnson scored the first touchdown of his career on two receptions and 10 yards in Week 12, but he didn't catch a pass the last two weeks. He was the clear No. 2 wideout behind Jerry Jeudy in a game in which the Broncos dominated on the ground. The 24-year-old could see increased opportunities again in Week 16 against the Los Angeles Rams, but only if both Sutton and Hinton miss another game. And even then, Johnson will be off the fantasy radar.

Brandon Johnson Could Be Thrust Into No. 2 Role

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Brandon Johnson has played in just four games in his first NFL season, with all four of them coming in the last four weeks. He's hauled in only three of his 10 targets for just 12 yards, but he does have one touchdown. Johnson will be playing in his fifth NFL game this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, and he could be Denver's No. 2 wideout behind Jerry Jeudy with both Courtland Sutton (hamstring) and Kendall Hinton (hamstring) in danger of sitting out. However, even if Sutton and Hinton are inactive, Johnson shouldn't be anywhere near starting fantasy lineups in the Broncos' lackluster offense. Fellow rookies Jalen Virgil and Montrell Washington will also have elevated roles if both Sutton and Hinton are out.

Brandon Johnson Scores First Career Touchdown

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Brandon Johnson scored his first career touchdown in the 23-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 12 on Sunday, and the score was also the team's only trip to paydirt on the day. This was only Johnson's second game on the active roster with both Jerry Jeudy (ankle) and KJ Hamler (hamstring) sidelined again this week. The 24-year-old pass-catcher caught two of his four targets for 10 yards and the touchdown, and he has three catches on six targets for 12 yards and one TD in his first two NFL games. Johnson could be active again in Week 13 against the Baltimore Ravens if Jeudy and/or Hamler remain out, but fantasy managers should look elsewhere.
