Jaquan Brisker News
The Chicago Bears defense will be short-handed in a Week 9 matchup against the New Orleans Saints on the road on Sunday. Defensive backs Jaquan Brisker (concussion) and Terell Smith (illness) and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (knee) have been ruled out. Brisker suffered a concussion in Week 7 and will now miss his second straight game. It remains to be seen if the 24-year-old safety will be ready to play in Week 10 on a short turnaround next Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers. Fantasy managers that had been rolling with Brisker in their starting lineups at defensive back prior to his injury in Week 7 must go in another direction for the second straight week. Duron Harmon will make another start in Chicago's secondary on Sunday.
Chicago Bears defensive back Jaquan Brisker (groin) popped up on the Week 7 injury report on Friday with a limited practice and was listed as questionable to play on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. Defensive backs Eddie Jackson (foot) and Terell Smith (illness) were ruled out, so the Bears secondary could be pretty thin this weekend while facing Raiders veteran backup Brian Hoyer. Mid-week injuries are usually never good, so even though Brisker was limited on Friday, he should probably be considered on the wrong side of questionable for Week 7. If the 24-year-old safety is ultimately ruled out, expect to see Quindell Johnson start in his place against Vegas.
The Chicago Bears are saying that safety Jaquan Brisker (illness) is questionable to return to the Week 2 game on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to an illness. It's a notable development for the Bears' secondary and for fantasy managers that have Brisker in their starting spot at defensive back in IDP formats. The 24-year-old also lost Eddie Jackson (foot) in this same game, so their secondary is going to be more vulnerable if neither Brisker nor Jackson are able to return. Quindell Johnson is likely to enter the starting lineup to Brisker. Check back for more updates on Brisker, but he should be able to get better by Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs on the road.
