Travis Homer Going On Injured Reserve After Having Surgery

Chicago Bears running back Travis Homer (finger) underwent surgery on his finger and will be placed on Injured Reserve, meaning he will be out for at least the next four games. The Bears have their bye in Week 7 as well, so the earliest Homer will be able to return will be for a Week 8 tilt versus the Washington Commanders. The 26-year-old isn't at all on the fantasy radar after seeing just three carries for 16 yards in the first two weeks of the season. With Homer now out for the foreseeable future, it means that Roschon Johnson should see more involvement on passing downs alongside D'Andre Swift in a Bears offense that has been stuck in the mud early on behind rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. In his first year in Chicago in 2023, Homer was used exclusively on special teams and didn't see a single touch on offense. He was targeted once in the passing game in 16 games.

Travis Homer With Little Production In Starting Role

Chicago Bears running back Travis Homer rushed the ball four times for 13 yards and did not catch either of his targets in the team's preseason win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Homer got the start alongside other Chicago reserves and played a couple of series. The veteran's contributions on special teams may be enough for him to make the final roster. However, with Velus Jones Jr. making the transition to running back, it could spell trouble for the sixth-year veteran. If he does survive the final cuts, he'll be behind D'Andre Swift, Khalil Herbert, and Roschon Johnson on the running back depth chart.

Travis Homer Questionable For Week 16, Equanimeous St. Brown Ruled Out

Chicago Bears running back Travis Homer (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity again on Friday and is officially questionable to face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16. Meanwhile, wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (pectoral) missed his third consecutive practice and has been ruled out. Neither of these injury updates carries much fantasy relevance, though it's worth pointing out that Homer, who hasn't touched the ball this season, could earn snaps in Week 16 if D'Onta Foreman (personal, questionable) doesn't suit up.

Travis Homer Upgraded To Full Practice

Chicago Bears running back Travis Homer (hamstring) was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Thursday. Homer was injured in Week 5 and sat out of the Week 6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, but he's trending toward returning this Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. Khalil Herbert (ankle) is on Injured Reserve and rookie Roschon Johnson is still in the league's concussion protocol, so Homer could have an elevated role as a pass-catcher out of the backfield alongside D'Onta Foreman and Darrynton Evans this weekend if Johnson is inactive again. However, the 25-year-old is nothing more than a desperation flex play in PPR leagues with rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent likely to be leading Chicago's offense against the Raiders this week.

Travis Homer Ruled Out For Week 6

Chicago Bears running back Travis Homer (hamstring) will not play in the team's Week 6 game against the Minnesota Vikings. He will miss the divisional matchup due to a hamstring injury suffered in Week 5 against the Washington Commanders. The injury bug hit the Bears running backs hard last week, taking out Khalil Herbert (ankle) and Roschon Johnson (concussion) as well. Homer has only seen two offensive snaps this season but has been involved in special teams play. The injuries to Chicago's top backfield options mean the door is finally open for D'Onta Foreman, who had five rushing attempts and three targets in Week 1 but has been a healthy scratch for the last four weeks.

Travis Homer Misses Practice On Wednesday

Chicago Bears running back Travis Homer (hamstring) did not partake in the team's practice on Wednesday. Homer suffered the injury in the Bears' 40-20 win in Week 5 and left the game early. With the extra time off, though, it appears the running back is still nursing his hamstring issue. The 25-year-old has only seen two offensive snaps all season. But that could change in Week 6 with Khalil Herbert (ankle) doubtful for the contest and Roschon Johnson (concussion) still not practicing. Homer will have two more opportunities to practice before Chicago takes on the Minnesota Vikings this weekend.

Khalil Herbert, Travis Homer Injured Thursday Night

Chicago Bears running backs Khalil Herbert (ankle) and Travis Homer (hamstring) were both injured in Thursday night's game against the Washington Commanders and are questionable to return. Herbert's right ankle had to be taped after he was injured in the third quarter. Rookie Roschon Johnson (concussion) was already ruled out with a concussion, so Chicago's backfield is extremely thin to close out the game in Week 5. Before his injury, Herbert had 10 carries for 76 yards and failed to haul in any of his three targets in the passing game. Homer didn't have a single touch. If Herbert or Homer cannot return, Khari Blasingame will finish out the contest as the Bears primary backfield option. The Bears will have extra time before their Week 6 meeting with the Minnesota Vikings, but the health of their backfield will be worth watching closely. D'Onta Foreman has been a healthy scratch, but he could be forced into active duty next week.

Travis Homer Signs Two-Year Deal With Bears

Former Seattle Seahawks running back Travis Homer signed a two-year deal worth a maximum of $4.5 million with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, according to his agent Spencer Cannold. Homer will head to the Bears after former Chicago running back David Montgomery left in free agency to join the Detroit Lions. The 24-year-old should be able to pick up some playing time behind Khalil Herbert in the Windy City, but how much remains to be seen. In his four seasons with Seattle, Homer accumulated 83 carries for 453 yards and one touchdown while securing 52 of his 61 targets for 464 additional yards and two touchdowns in 49 games (two starts). He's likely to have more appeal in deep PPR leagues in his new home.

Travis Homer Won't Play In Week 18

Seattle Seahawks running back Travis Homer (ankle) won't suit up for the Week 18 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The 24-year-old has been placed on the injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain. He already lost his change-of-pace duties to DeeJay Dallas earlier in the season. Honestly, Homer wasn't going to have a big role even he if was healthy for this contest. The expectation is that Kenneth Walker III will be the lead back with Dallas as the primary backup on Sunday.

Travis Homer Not Expected To Play Against The Rams

Seattle Seahawks running back Travis Homer (ankle) is doubtful ahead of the Week 18 showdown with the Rams. Fortunately, Kenneth Walker III (illness, ankle) practiced in full on Friday after sitting out the previous two sessions, so he'll probably be out there for the must-win matchup. With that said, DeeJay Dallas (ankle) was cleared to play, meaning Homer likely wouldn't have seen enough action to benefit fantasy managers.
