James Conner News

James Conner Tests Positive For COVID-19

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner has tested positive for COVID-19, according to multiple sources. Conner is awaiting a second test on Sunday to confirm the results, and the Steelers will continue contact tracing. Fantasy managers will have to scramble for other options with Conner likely out for Week 12 against the Ravens on Tuesday night. If the game against Baltimore is played on Tuesday, Benny Snell Jr. should be the Steelers primary back, with Anthony McFarland Jr. sprinkled in. Inclement weather is expected, too, so Pittsburgh could lean heavily on the ground game, giving Snell some RB2 potential, albeit in a tough matchup with the Ravens Defense. Run to the waiver wire and add Snell immediately if you need RB help. Conner could miss multiple games if he indeed tested positive for COVID-19.

James Conner A Low-End RB2 In Week 12

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner has hit a wall over his past three games. Over that span, Conner has rushed for 147 scoreless yards across 35 carries. The veteran running back may continue to struggle in Week 12 as he will take on a Baltimore Ravens Defense that has been tough against the run this season. The Ravens rank fourth in the league in run-defense DVOA while allowing the 12th-fewest fantasy points per game to the running back position. Conner did find the end zone against them back in Week 8 but he managed just 47 rushing yards on 15 carries. Treat him as a low-end RB2 for his Thanksgiving game against the Ravens.

James Conner Rushes For 89 Yards In Week 11

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner rushed 13 times for 89 yards and added 10 yards on three receptions in a 27-3 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11. While it wasn't a huge outing for Conner, his 89 rushing yards were his best total in over a month. Conner's main issue of late has been the fact that the Steelers have been skewing very pass-heavy over the past few games. Conner will look to bounce back in a divisional matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12.
