Colorado Avalanche left wing Jonathan Drouin (upper body) faces another spell on the sidelines. On Wednesday, Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar announced that Drouin is considered week-to-week with an upper-body injury. The silky forward has already missed a large chunk of the season with an upper-body problem, skating in only a handful of games. He has recorded two goals and two assists in five outings. Replacing Drouin in the top six on Monday versus Tampa Bay, Ivan Ivan scored two goals in an 8-2 loss. He will remain on the second line Wednesday night versus Vegas, giving Ivan additional fantasy value.

Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz (undisclosed) will not be available for Wednesday's matchup against Chicago. He is reportedly dealing with a "tweak." Dallas' first-line center has amassed 13 points (eight goals, five assists) in 20 outings this season. Colin Blackwell comes into the lineup to replace Hintz, but we will likely see somebody else fill in for him in the top six. Veteran Jamie Benn or youngster Logan Stankoven might get the call to move up from the third line.

Detroit Red Wings right wing Patrick Kane (upper body) will miss a second consecutive game on Wednesday against Calgary. Kane missed his first game of the season against the Islanders on Monday. He remains day-to-day with an upper-body injury but is expected to return soon. The Red Wings have their next game on Friday versus New Jersey. Kane is in the middle of a five-game scoring drought and has averaged just 0.5 points per game this season. In 20 appearances, he has contributed three goals and seven assists. Tyler Motte moved to the top six on Monday and is expected to remain on the second line Wednesday.

The Bruins haven't scored more than two goals in six straight games, making this a decent matchup for Sorokin, who has a 2-2-3 career record against Boston.

Nick Schmaltz Records Two Assists In Tuesday's Win
Utah Hockey Club forward Nick Schmaltz grabbed two assists as the team beat Montreal 3-2 in overtime Tuesday night. Dylan Guenther and Mikhail Sergachev benefited from Schmaltz's playmaking, with the latter scoring the game-winning goal inside the final minute of the extra frame. His work helped Jake DeBrusk grab a power-play goal in the second period, and Garland iced the game with an empty-netter inside the final minute of play. Vancouver Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen registered a 32-save shutout against the Boston Bruins in Tuesday's 2-0 win. The 29-year-old continued his success in the Canucks crease in style, earning his second shutout of the season. Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck (3) is currently the only netminder in the league with more. Lankinen improved to 10-3-2 and has posted a 2.58 goals-against average with a .909 save percentage. Despite the absence, Thompson remains Buffalo's top goal-scorer with 11 markers. He's also collected seven assists in 16 games. Before exiting the lineup, Thompson scored in four consecutive games. His return will bump Ryan McLeod down to the third line. It's a blow to McLeod's fantasy value, but he has been effective in the role.
